Does anyone here remember the NES game Gyromite? It came with the R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) that was only used towards two games, the previously mentioned Gyromite and a game called Stack-Up. Nothing else utilized this robot toy for the NES. But this is not about the R.O.B., it's about the game Gyromite. I actually have this game and remember playing it when I was a kid. I unfortunately did not have the ROB toy to use, but I figured out that you could use a second controller to open doors and do all the stuff ROB did. It was a lot harder to play this way, but I remember getting through some levels. I thought it was a blast though, and looking through images has brought that nostalgia back for me. I remember you couldn't jump or fall from a big height if I remember correctly. Idk, it's been probably 20 years since I last played it.

What could Kojima and crew be working on currently? Could it be a Metal Gear Solid Project? There was rumors a while ago that he was in talks with Konami to work on a MGS game again, but nothing has come of that from what I hear. As well, it could be a Silent Hill game. That'd be cool. Maybe Kojima is working on a new IP for his studio. I could see that. Read about this bit of news here - Twinfinite

This article here states that the new Atari VCS will launch alongside the PS5 this November (next month) but doesn't state the official release date. If this is true, I really think this is a poor decision on their part. Considering the Xbox Series X/S and the PS5 are coming out within days of each other, why would you want to toss in another console at the same time? Atari probably would do a lot better if they tried to sell this later, possibly in 2021. Possibly around the time of the Switch release, but even so, I don't think Atari can compete with any of these consoles. What do you think?

New Xbox controllers are being released in preparation for the upcoming Xbox Series X/S releases. These controllers will work on current gen Xbox One consoles as well, so that's pretty cool. I saw some going for $60, which is cheap considering that controllers at the moment seem to be running up to $70-$80 at some sites. Anyway, I guess Xbox and KFC have teamed up in the UK for a contest where you can win this controller. In order to win, you have to go to a local KFC in the UK to enter this giveaway. Here's an image of the controller: Yeah, it's quite ugly I'd say lol. But I am surprised this isn't happening here in the US at local KFCs. I can see people trying to win this lol. If this was for sale, would you buy it? Read more about it at this article here - Half-Glass Gaming

Oh I know that. Fortnite is big when it comes to customization, and oftentimes to get the good stuff, you gotta pay. It's the same for gun skins in games. I just wish we were back to the day where you could open new clothing items in game instead of having to spend cash for them. 😞

Idk if that really compares. If someone disses my girlfriend I imagine I'd be pretty annoyed, but if it was a console or a game I enjoyed, it wouldn't bother me. Some people have dumb takes and say dumb things, but for the most part, it doesn't bother me at all. And I don't think fanboys can really cause game reviews to go lower. I suppose you can say that about people who review bomb games though, but I think we've come to a point where people don't really bother with sites like metacritic. The thing with Assassin's Creed, is that it did the same things up until a certain point, now they're re-inventing the formula and some fans aren't happy. You can't please everyone and the direction Ubisoft is going with their franchise isn't going to go back to its original formula. Fanboys just want to argue. That's how I see them personally, and usually you get those types for each console brand and it's just a 3 way battle where no one wins. Eventually they get tired of the argument and move on. I can understand that. Microsoft gets a lot of hate, and rightfully so, MS doesn't have the greatest track record as a company. But, for me it is a brand I enjoy using and don't have much problems with them for the most part. But I also enjoy PlayStation and Nintendo. Hell, I'd even toss in Google if I could take advantage of Stadia. Fanboys just want to hear themselves praise their company. Maybe they have hopes those companies will hear them and reach out thanking them or something. But the amount of arguing a fanboy does, it's just a waste of time imo.

Damnit Rockstar! Why can't you just give us the Undead Nightmare 2? At least pop it in the Halloween DLC like this, but nope, Rockstar can't be bothered to give us something like that. Wish they added a zombie mode to this at the very least, but I guess that's asking for too much from them. 😞

I used to play racing games more when I was younger and in my teen years. I got into the original Need For Speed on the PS1, along with Test Drive. I remember owning Test Drive 4 for the PS1 and my bro and I would play that a lot. Around the PS2 I started to tire of the racing games, as they got too fast for me lol. Especially the NFS Underground games. Looks almost the same gameplay wise to the original game, just with better graphics. Sadly I haven't played any of the newer games in the series. Though, I think I actually picked up a used copy of it on the PS1 a while back, but I need to double check my collection.

I don't count those flashback devices anyway lol. I've seen them selling on Facebook marketplace as Atari consoles, and it bugs me so much. PS2 was the shit! I think it's the one console I had the most games for originally. I had a lot on the PS1, but mostly bought for the PS2. Sadly I idiotically sold off most of my collection years ago, but have slowly built up my collection again.

Are there any games that you play to relax? Maybe it's just a chill puzzle game, or a sports game, or anything. What games help you to relax during a tough or long day? For me, it's pretty simple, I found peggle to be a great stress reliever, and helps me relax. I also like to play simple games that don't require a lot of challenge, because if it requires work, it is not going to relax me. I will also play stuff like call of duty, until I of course get mad.

I'm not one for talking about politics, but I gotta admit, it's nice seeing a politician enjoying a video game, because lets face it, eventually a lot of us will be in congress, in the senate and running for president. Well maybe not us, but someone from our generation will. It's weird to think, but imagine if a gamer is in office one day, as president. How cool would that be? Maybe he or she, will stream to twitch for their presidential addresses and such. Read about this story here - Forbes You can also watch the stream here if you want to - Twitch

This is really cool stuff. A streamer recently got a tattoo of the Rogue Company logo, which she in turn tweeted out. The lead developer, Scott “Gandhi” Lussier, offered to pay for the tattoo, to which he actually did. Sending $100 to her. You can read more at the article here - Squad State Or you can see her tweet below.

I hate looking at the comment section for most gaming news. There's just so many fanboys on all sides, who complain to each other. I don't get it. No one is winning when you argue on social media. It's why I don't usually comment on social media, because if you have a different opinion, you get a ton of hate, so I move on from that. But, why is it that so many people take consoles and some games so seriously? It's like if you judge a game, or a console, you get a ton of arguing. There's no winning. Either it be a Sony fanboy, a Nintendo fanboy, or even a Xbox fanboy, they all argue about it and claim one or the other is better. Let's just all get along and like what we like. What do you guys think?

When it comes to the past console generations, which ones do you prefer the most? I usually fall in line with the 6th generation, which I believe was the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube generation. I also like the 7th generation, which was the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii generation, but also like the 8th gen. Here's hoping the 9th gen turns out to be one of the best. We shall see. 🙂 Anyway, what is your favorite console generation?

Yeah, I felt the same way. I was finding items pretty fast, and the combat seems fun. If I start to get stuck anywhere, I'll for sure update my thoughts, as I am hearing from others that they're getting annoyed with it. So I hope I'm not making any mistakes when it comes to what I find in the world, or how I play. Because I haven't been paying any attention to the story so far. I just want to get to fighting enemies lol.

It is. 🙂 I still have the SNES version of the game, and hook it up once in a while to play it. I haven't played many of the newer games though. 😞 Anyway, another game I'd like to talk about today, would have to be the game Rampage on the NES. I remember it fondly as it was one of the first games I played with a friend of mine. He would get dropped off at my house and we'd go into my parent's room to play the NES for a couple hours until he'd have to go home. We would play some other games too, like TMNT 2 the arcade game, and a few others, but Rampage was one I remember playing a lot of. I don't remember if there was an ending, but we'd played for hours trying to complete it. Does it even have an ending? I would always get bored of playing for too long, as it was the same looking cities over and over. Does anyone remember playing the Rampage games? I only played the NES one, but I know there was one for the N64/PS1 as well.

I've been playing that new free to play game called Genshin Impact. It's the one that's almost a clone of Breath of the Wild. I am having fun with it so far though. I might be playing some Friday the 13th soon though, so that should be fun!

Goldeneye will never happen, as I think Activision owns the 007 licensing, at least I think so. I get your point though, because I don't know if a remaster or reboot would be the same. It wouldn't feel the same I mean. Maybe they could make the graphics look more cartoon like, to kind of match the older style of game. They could even have another studio handle it. Maybe an indie studio instead. I still would like to have a new Conker game at the very least.

Is there a game you keep discovering deeper layers of meaning in?
Kane99 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Oh for sure, it doesn't come close to actual war. But I'm glad to see more games show the horrors of war and go into more detail about the impact of war and why it's so bad, because it can be used to push people away from it even. Compare that to something like Call of Duty today, where they're mostly all about action and less on story, and about making you feel like a bad ass. Those games don't usually have meaning. All the publishers want is action and fireworks. I'm sorry to hear that. I would never be able to handle any form of military myself. I could maybe handle something like the National Guard, but I'd die if I tried out for the Marines. -
I say give it a go. Can't hurt to try it out and see how it feels on you. As for grinding for stuff, I'm not trying to care much for all that. I'm just going to collect stuff, build my characters as best I can, and see how it goes. I just wish traversing was a bit faster, but I suppose they may add options for driving and longer stamina meters. I think you gain wishes by playing in the world. I noticed I got a few of them and was able to open some loot box thing. I've only played around 2 hours or so by now, but it's quite fun. I imagine it will get very grindy as you continue to play though, so I'll try to update you if it starts to become that.

I believe the recent beta has ended for the upcoming Black Ops - Cold War. I sadly did not take advantage of the beta myself, but was considering it. But, last time I checked they said it would only be two days and I noticed it's already been two days, so I was too late. 😞 But, for those who have had a chance to experience the beta, how was it? Do you think it's the same usual COD? Or have they don't anything new? (I doubt it lol).

It's a given this discussion will go right to Conker and Banjo-kazooie, but there are other classics under Rare's belt. What would you like to see them revive? I for sure want more Conker, we haven't had him in years. It's time to give the guy a revival. I would love to see Banjo-Kazooie in a new game as well, one closer to the original games and not what the last game was. The one that shall not be named lol. You could also include Perfect Dark, and a new Killer Instinct would be nice too. Discuss! 🙂

Control Ultimate Edition's physical version on Xbox One, requires you to connect to XBL in order the play. Want to know the reason why that is? It's because the physical version of the game is not complete. They had to release an update to include the rest of the ultimate edition, and that's why an internet connection is required early on. So, you will only need to do this once. But, this gives me concerns, because what if the server at some point goes down? Would that game then be locked at that point? At least when it concerns Xbox One consoles. Read more on this article here - Eurogamer
