Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in Have you ever made your own video game?
Nope, but I'm aware that there are programs and software you can get to help make games. I know rpg maker is one that many have used to make their own games. There are other game makers out there too.
Otherwise you can probably find a game engine to code on.
I wouldn't know the first thing about making my own games though. if I have the knowledge I'd give it a try.

Kane99 got a reaction from Smokey in Guardians of The Galaxy.
I downloaded it from Gamepass a while back, played maybe 30 minutes to an hour and then never touched it again. It's a fun game, I just didn't feel invested in it like I had hoped. Eventually I will come back to it and give it another go, but for now I just don't have any interest in playing it.

Kane99 got a reaction from killamch89 in "Name brand" PC prebuilds or build your own?
I think I'd rather build one, just because you can get parts a bit cheaper than buying a pre-built of the same caliber. But I understand wanting to get a pre-built. It's more practical, easier, and you don't have to build a PC.
I would consider a pre-built if it was set up by a company that doesn't add any bloatware or unnecessary programs.

Kane99 got a reaction from killamch89 in AEW's new game by Yukes Entertainment?
THQ Nordic is actually publishing it with Yuke's developing. It's funny, because THQ was the original publisher of WWF No Mercy and the other WWF/WCW games on the 64. This is a new THQ, but it's still cool to see how times have come full circle in a way. To see THQ and Yukes on a wrestling game again, is kinda exciting. :)

Kane99 got a reaction from Smokey in AEW's new game by Yukes Entertainment?
I've been waiting for it for a while now since it was first announced. It's going to be called AEW: Fight Forever. It's taking inspiration from games like WWF No Mercy and WCW vs nWo Revenge, which used the Akai engine I think it was. They're trying to replicate that control scheme with the new game, and I don't know how to feel about it. I never got the hang of those games, probably because I never tried to learn moves. But I'll check out the AEW game to see how it does.

Kane99 got a reaction from Smokey in Hitman VR
That's fair. You could get the current PS4 VR and play Hitman 3 VR that way. But I understand wanting to wait for the new VR headset to drop, as it'd probably be worth it to just wait for the new one anyway. Would be nice if the new VR headset worked with the PS4 or even PC. That'd be cool.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in When It Comes To Game Preservation, Can Anything Be Done For Online-Only Games?
That is another issue with digital only games and the platforms we use them on. Look at older consoles like the 360 and PS3. Though they are still kind of supported, in that you should be able to download every game you have purchased over your accounts life. But the problem is that at some point these services may one day die. If PlayStation stopped their services, who's to say we'll be able to download those games again, or to even play them. Some games may require you to be online or use the consoles service like PSN or XBL.

Kane99 got a reaction from Smokey in Hitman VR
Hitman is one of the games I want to try in VR, just because it looks like it'd be so much more fun to play in. Standard Hitman is fun stuff too, but in VR it's gotta be a blast. Hitman is the type of game you'd expect VR to one day be supported too, so I'm glad it happened.
More Hitman VR please. :)

Kane99 reacted to Reality vs Adventure in Why can't sports games be more serious and pull ideas/stories from real life?
This is a much needed post and is something the gaming industry seriously lacks which is a sports game that has a great story with it. That could bring sports games back to people like me who wants a bit more than just playing a sport. Got my mind racing now with ideas. Imagine though, to have a bit of storyline, then go and play a match, back to story. I'm thinking something like the movie The Last Boyscout but with a lot more football action. Or the movie The Color of Money and have a story along with pool tournaments. Or even one of my favorite movies, The Basketball Diaries, except have more basketball action of course. I'd love to play a game in that new genre. I'm excited just thinking about it. Hope this idea takes off a bit and someone makes something good. Wouldn't that be something if they had a GTA mixed with Madden. Freakin insane. Or something like Rocky movie series mixed with Mafia game series. Again, cool topic!

Kane99 got a reaction from Smokey in What games are you looking forward to in 2023?
There isn't a whole lot I'm psyched for, aside from the Silent Hill 2 Remake and the other Silent Hill projects Konami and company has in store for us. The upcoming AEW wrestling game, maybe the next WWE 2K game, but I'm hoping it's not 2K who produces it.
Aside from all of that, nothing has really hit my radar all that much. Though I'm sure I'm probably forgetting some games.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in What gaming legend would you want to see as a skin in Fortnite?
Mario would be pretty cool, but I don't know how they'd work that out into a skin. Most skins have to meet the same height requirement, so I wonder if they'd have to just make him to size.
Aside from him, maybe some WWE collabs. I think it'd be great to see some pro wrestlers make it in there. I know there's the Luchador skins, but I want someone like Undertaker, Stone Cold, The Rock, etc. They already got John Cena in there, so it's a possibility.
Those probably don't count, as you're looking for Gaming legends. While we're at it, why not add Sonic, Tails. Also maybe some Mortal Kombat characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden etc. Street Fighter characters, Tekken, etc.
There's so much they can do.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in Do you buy every new released WWE game?
Haha nah. At least not since 2K took the franchise on. Actually scratch that, I'd say even back when they were still with THQ. I think after a point the series just started to take the easy route by releasing the same game with updated things here and there. I don't know how many times I play a newer WWE game and it has the same exact animations the same exact moves, character models for some and so on. The new WWE game was fine, but it still wasn't great. It wasn't Here Comes the Pain or WWF No Mercy by any means.
I don't touch any of their mobile games, I just don't have any interest in them. But I have considered looking into wrestling management sims outside of WWE stuff.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in Would you like to see 1 vs 100 back on Xbox?
1 vs 100 was great. It was one of those new things they were trying at the time, and it gave many people a chance to win real prizes. The cool thing about it, was that 1 person would randomly be chosen to be the 1 who versus the 100. I never got picked, but it was still a fun trivia game to play.
I wish they would have brought it back already. There was rumors they were bringing it back at some point, but so far it's hasn't come to fruition yet.
It would be nice if Xbox tried to replicate this by doing more live game events. Could be a fun way to drum up activity on your platforms.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in Stupid choices in games
I don't like when games give you a 50/50 pick. Pick this or that. Maybe give us more options instead of two that will decide the story for you. I think having more options to choose from, expands the story and gives you more to explore each playthrough too.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I'll say I probably made stupid choices in games in the past, and regretted it because I probably should have done it a different way instead.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in Has anyone here played WWE Allstars?
Remember when they tried to make a similar looking game called WWE 2K Battlegrounds? I was interested in getting it when it was first announced, but after reviews came out showing how bad it was, I decided not to pick it up.
The fact that the wrestles pretty much have the same moves, didn't help either.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in What are you hoping to pick up in the Holiday sales?
I haven't picked up anything this year. Money is tight for me at the moment, so I've been living a bit cheap as of late haha. But, I hear there was a fair deal of good sales. Are they all still live as we speak? I may have to check it out, if there's something for like a couple bucks, I may be able to spare some lol.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in What makes you prefer gaming to watching TV?
I wouldn't say I prefer gaming to watching tv. I'd say they both are interests of mine. I'm big into movies and tv, so it's a big thing in my life. And gaming will always be a part of my life. I love doing both. If I had to choose my favorite, I don't know if I can. Movies and tv are something I like a lot too, and I don't know if I'd want to lose out on that either.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in Has anyone here played WWE Allstars?
I actually haven't. Back when it originally released, the graphics and gameplay style wasn't of interest to me. But I've been kinda on the lookout for the game for a while now. If I see it cheap, I'll pick it up, because I hear it's actually a good fighting game, and is highly underrated.
I still preferred stuff like WWE Smackdown Vs Raw or Here Comes the Pain, but I think it's good to change up the style of gameplay to something more arcadey.

Kane99 got a reaction from Crazycrab in Arcade 1UP cabinets.
It's pretty much a small form PC that you can buy by the board. This is what it looks before you put it in a case (left). Mine looked similar but was an earlier model. The image on the right is when you put it in a case. You can buy many different cases, or even make your own if you know how.
It can be used for many things, like building robots, coding, using it as a PC etc. All you need to do is install an OS on an micro sd card and that's really it. There are guides online how to set it up with emulation station, which works with raspberry pi os. You can connect USB controllers and map the controller depending on game/console etc.
I'm probably not making much sense, but the guide I used was pretty easy to follow, just tedious if anything. I couldn't find the guide I used years ago, but I was able to find this guide that looks to go step by step - https://www.instructables.com/Raspberry-Pi-Emulation-Station-1/
Reading that, they mention an OS called RetroPie, which is needed for Emulation station. - https://retropie.org.uk/
Another thing I used my raspberry pi was for a cheap PC I used for streaming some content on my bigscreen tv. Sadly it died on me a couple months ago, I think it shorted out somehow. And now it won't turn on. :( But the good thing is that they're pretty cheap. The newest one right now, I believe goes for like $60 for just the board, but based on the amount of RAM you want, and you can find kits online for the case/charger/SD card for a decent price as well. I just checked the site, and one retailer is selling the Raspberry Pi 4 for $75 with 8gb, which is probably what I would go with for RAM.
And then for the actual emulation, I used https://emulationstation.org/ which pretty much combines all emulators into one package, so all you'd then need to do is find your roms and that's it. Some of the newer models will work with PS1 and N64. Not sure if it can do later stuff like PS2 and up, but I could be wrong. My Raspberry pi was older, so it didn't work so well with N64 games and later.
And the link to the Raspberry pi site here - https://www.raspberrypi.com/ they will list retailers that sell them. They may be tough to come by lately due to the recent shortage of boards and other PC parts lately.
They make other boards for tech projects, but I only ever used the raspberry pi boards they sell.

Kane99 got a reaction from Reality vs Adventure in UK Universities Study Confirms What We Already Knew About Loot Boxes.
I thought it was 16 as well, but maybe it is 18, or it depends on your location in the US. I'm 33, so I don't know what the age requirements are in order to get a bank account. I know with a guardian you can start a bank account at any time. I think parents can create a bank account for their kids.
Loot boxes should automatically render a game with an M rating. Since it promotes gambling, it should be 18+, which would also require the game to be rated M due to it. I believe that's a rule that some are trying to enact. And I think that's fair. Especially if you can buy loot boxes in game. That in my view constitutes gambling and therefore should in turn result in a game being rated as such.
Loot boxes should never be in a game that's rated below Mature. But, only if it's lootboxes you get via buying in game. If you get free loot boxes from the game and playing the game, then I don't see an issue with it and therefore I see no issue rating that an E or T. But, when it sells loot boxes for real money, then yes, it should be rated M.
To answer your question, loot boxes should only be for legal adults 18+, or in some states 21+.

Kane99 got a reaction from runswithspatulas in What was the last purchase you made in a game?
I think I got the Metallica emote in Fortnite recently, but I had vbucks saved up. I haven't purchased anything from the game in a while otherwise. I did pay for the battle pass, but it was like 2 seasons ago or chapters. idk I don't get how it works haha. But I was able to get battle pass the last two times via the vbucks I had saved up.

Kane99 got a reaction from Shortie in Fortnite Save The World
I do not, I do not qualify for the extra vBucks when playing it like some of the original players get. A friend of mine still boots it up and gets vBucks for it. I don't, but I can still take advantage of the XP, so that helps me level up a tad bit faster for just sitting in a lobby.
He keeps trying to get me to play the actual mode, but I can't be bothered. I'd rather play Battle Royale.
