Yes, present day real world politics is hard to include without it seeming like activism. So it's best avoided. Fictional and past politics is fine however.

I actually have a 3D printer, that is what I used for my Abby figure. But extruder printers are a hit and miss for the most part, it is very sensitive to the actual model you are printing, as they can't print in mid air. So there is a lot of optimization and tweaking involved. It's good fun if you are patient and don't mind having a few bad prints. But don't expect it to work like a inkjet printer where you press print and voila. Even if everything is perfect printing a 20cm tall human figure can take about 10-15 hours. Then a lot of manual labor cleaning it up, and painting it.
Then there are resin printers that are much more versatile and can print almost anything, but in return they are more expensive use more power, and the resin is slightly toxic until it is cured.
Printers of other exotic materials like ceramics and metals I think are currently only viable for commercial enterprises as they are prohibitively expensive still.

What I want doesn't exist. There are a bunch of Ellie figurines out there from last of us 2, but I wanted an Abby figure. I've made my own, but I'd like to have a better quality one still.

My sentiments exactly but I'd go a little farther and say real-world politics shouldn't be anywhere near video games because these are the spaces some of us use to "get away from the real world". Unless it's for historical reference, nobody wants to hear about politics period.

Almost every one of my cats have learned how to open the mosquito net on the door, to get inside the kitchen, the clever ones used their paw to open it, some of them climbed on it and let gravity work for them.

We have to separate two categories. Political topics in videogames and political activism in videogames.
The first one is OK, the second is not.
As soon as it gets out of context and not the ingame character is speaking but the designer / writer through that character it becomes an issue.
I don't care what they have so say, don't use the game as a platform for your personal politics, if you are a game designer. Unless the game is literally about your personal political views.

The closest match to it is probably DeusEx Invisible War. and DeusEx Mankind Divided.
System Shock II is also a First person cyberpunk in genre, but the story is completely different.
Alien Isolation is also a bit similar in gameplay, but the story is even more different.
Alpha Protocol is close in gameplay too, but the furthest from it in story as it is contemporary, not cyberpunk.
    Outer Worlds a definite maybe.

I don't think anyone should be paid millions of dollars. Not CEOs, not game developers, not movie stars, nobody, while there are people literally starving to death. Or freezing to death without a roof.
You think game developers get paid too little compared to CEOs of these companies? How about clothing brands? Where the people in vietnam or china or wherever they happen to be get paid maybe $2 a day?
Or Apple selling their overpriced garbage engineered to fail, and not be repairable, that they make for pennies on the dollar in foxconn's sweatshops?
Even thinking about it makes my blood boil. And I'm powerless to do anything about it, because when anybody proposes change, they are instantly shut down. And not by the rich, no sir, other people who were indoctrinated to believe in the system. Who will label anyone even midldy criticizing it as a communist or worse.

There is nothing juicy about it. We played GTA, Doom, Hexen, Heretic, Sin, Duke3D, Carmageddon, Mortal Kombat and so on, and nobody I know turned violent. In fact the most cruel and violent kids in school were always the ones with the most devout and conservative parents who kept their kids under the strictest rules not allowing them any access to movies / videogames / limiting their play time etc.
I think shielding kids from gore is a mistake. For example the games where you still kill others, but they remove blood and gore. And that makes them kid friendly according to who?  That's the worst lesson you can give to kids because it tells them killing has no consequences.

I still have and buy CD’s as well. I currently have more than $1500 worth of CD’s and listen to them whenever I’m driving. But whenever I get a new CD the first thing I do is rip it. And I’m always burning mixes so I have a shitload of burned discs around here, and a hell of a lot of blanks left. CD-R’s and CD-RW’s both.
Also my disc drive is a blu-ray RW as well.

Hey @killamch89, @skyfire, can we not spam the topic with just videos? This goes for anyone else just posting videos. I was hoping we'd discuss the games we share here. Posting just videos doesn't really tell us anything, it just feels really spammy to me. Sorry if I offend anyone saying this, but I had to say something. I made this topic to Discuss our favorite games, not to spam multiple videos back to back. I went back pages and it's just video after video. Let's get back to the subject at hand and cut out the spamming please. If you post a video, at least tell us why this game is so special to you. It's just spammy to plaster video after video with no explanation.
This topic is also not a forum game, so people shouldn't be doing double posts or multiple posts right after another.
Anyway, enough about that. Let's get back to subject.

I've been playing ESPN NFL 2K5 again, but I found a way to use a PS2 emulator and got a version of the game with updated graphics and all that. It's refreshing to see it in glorious HD. It really says something, when a game that's 16 years old or so, still runs and plays better than new madden games lol. I played the newer Madden game recently, and it's the same Madden game we've gotten in recent years. They rarely change a thing, but a game from 16 years ago still plays better. It's crazy to me. Anyway, 2K5 is one of my all time favorite games, simply because it was the best sports game at the time, at least imo. I'm thinking I may start to stream the version I got now, as I want the world to see how good of a sports game it is. 😄

I loved odyssey, but unfortunately valhalla seems like two steps backwards in every sense.
the fighting is clunky and much less fun, the story and characters are uninteresting, the quests tedious, the scenery dreary, there is no loot. No naval engagements. Open fighting is forced over stealthy gameplay. Enemies spawn out of thin air. Raids are repetitive and boring. The enemy AI is awful, cutscenes and conversations with NPCs seem half complete, placeholder level even.
    Should I go on?

Got there before I did.  From I know, we're talking about properly tedious stuff here. Move the character a little bit, have the character face all directions, move into all stances, face all directions for each again, move them slightly, rince and repeat for every pixel of space in that room.  The fantasy rarely lives up to the reality, but that's especially true with video game testing.

Not anymore. When I was fresh out of school and looking for a job, I would've. But I'd have taken any job back then.
Game testing is a horrible profession. It's underpaid and holds zero respect among developers. And no it's not about playing games early. Most of the time you have to playtest certain situations over and over again, often without context. Trying to produce or re-produce bugs, or check if certain changes work or not. It's a highly repetitive and boring job, that will probably make you hate games before long if done as a profession.
I'd love to play through unreleased but comlpeted games early too, but unfortunately being a game tester is not just about that. By the time you get a finished game in your hands, you are hating every inch of that game.
