  1. If multiplayer Call of Duty and Halo have a realistic approach in team skills, mission related duties, and fast thinking, then it's a worthwhile place to look for candidates. Interacting with others in real time shows a lot about potential skills for the military. Gamers would even make great police officers due to quicker response with better judgement calls. That is what should be required for any that wields a weapon with the license to kill. Even in the military you need to do the best you can to not endanger the lives of civilians. Those that want to, should not be a potential recruit for military or police. They even recruit or sponsor at schools, so I wouldn't think gamers would be exploited any more than them. They even have ROTC in schools. And playing military games or a simulation would be a fun activity for those in the ROTC program, which no doubt as simulations get more widespread then they probably will integrate into those training programs. You know you got a problem though if the military was recruiting civilian killers, mass murderers and those in MMO screaming hate speech. Would not be good.
  2. Free speech absolutism vs censorship vs moderation---------- Free speech absolutism doesn't exist. And it can't exist w/o crossing into inciting violence and terroristic activity. Censorship is using the government to decide what is allowed. Reverse censorship is using the government to force certain speech to be allowed. And moderation is key. Don't we all share in universal ethics? There is no need to spread dangerous conspiracies, incite violence, or threaten so that shouldn't be allowed. Hate speech there really is nothing you can do about it. That lies within the realm of the rights of the company that gives your platform. In a free world, advertisers will decide if they want their brand next to hate speech. In a way, consumers is holding hate speech in check.
  3. A few days ago I got some purified water at the Watermill Express, which is right in front of the handicap parking area at a grocery store. The handicap parking spaces were all empty, but even then I still parked in the regular parking lot which was pretty full. So I had to walk a distance and carry a 5 gallon jug of water. And it only takes a couple minutes to fill the water. Even then, I respected the handicap spaces. So this lady is just every bad word you can think of.
  4. Yeah you would have to fight them again as many times as it takes and every time you lose not only do they level up, but all of the orcs level up. It's possible the lower level ones off each other too fighting for position. So every time you die, it gets harder and harder to defeat them all.
  5. Watch dogs 1 has a cool feature where you can get hacked at any time and you have to search for who is hacking you and eliminate them. It is an online feature, plus you can look for others to hack their data and sort of play hide and seek while they look for you and try to kill you before time runs out. I haven't figured out if these are real players or some kind of computer AI. And it's not really DLC because you can do these things at any time right in the middle of your gameplay. I hate it sometimes because I'll be doing something and next thing I know I'm getting hacked and have to go look for them. But it's fun. I lose every time. These people or AI are freakin experts always ambushing me.
  6. And the USA team has no room to talk since the USA just had a coup attempt 2 years ago. This really is the World Cup for the ages. This really is a sporting event placing the free world against the authoritarian world.
  7. It’s becoming a shit show. Even the Brazil team has to bring drama concerning Brazil’s new president and how election deniers are now challenging the presidency. Sound familiar? Of course it does. Take a page from dictatorship. Even republicans in the USA is trying to get Brazil to have a military coup and overthrow an election. Brazilian soccer star Neymar supports authoritarianism. WTF is this world event of FIFA? To expose cretins or honor cretins?
  8. I’ve actually been wanting to read the books. Thanks for the reminder! It’s Holiday season so I’m gonna treat myself to the book series.
  9. I think that is kind of cool for collectibles as I’m a collector and require such things. But it’s not games I collect so it’s not something I would use. Gaming is far more interactive than other hobbies so something of this nature it would be cool to add your gaming photos and snapshots of your abilities, collectibles, trophies, gear, saved clips, hours played, stats, etc.
  10. Does the Neverwinter game have anything to do with RA Salvatore? I think he helped in creative content in video games and that might be one of them. RA Salvatore is one of my favorite authors, famous for the Legend of Drizzt series.
  11. I feel that the console VR may be a gimmick, but the the actual headsets dedicated to VR like Oculus isn’t a gimmick. I’ve never used the console type VR so that is only my opinion on it and I could be very wrong. I have used Oculus and no doubt it will get better and better. The graphics are in its early stages. But games that aren’t emphasized or defined by realism is especially awesome in VR. I will never forget playing a roller coaster game in VR and it’s seriously very real to me, despite not having perfect graphics; the feeling of falling at high speed and all that. Sit down or you will fall over no doubt. I think Meta is vulnerable these days. Not to go into politics, but there certainly is many outside factors that can slow down VR progression. That’s why it’s not a good idea to have social media involved with a gaming line. But VR is no gimmick. It’s the future of gaming. Musk’s gaming brain chips for Neuralink is a gimmick. That’s when Frankenstein meets Hyde
  12. I think this is cool to give a background to the lore of The Witcher series. There were some what'd I miss??? questions I had in the lore and characters in Witcher 3. I would like to see how Geralt became a Witcher.
  13. Another thing is how Qatar abused migrant workers who built the stadium to host the World Cup. They violated those worker's human rights in almost every way like forced labor, assault, stolen wages, little food, overwork and extreme heat with no breaks. At least 6,500 migrant workers died since the announcement of hosting the World Cup. I don't know the number that died building the stadium itself. This is crazy. WTF.
  14. I'm not much into soccer and don't follow the World Cup, but I keep seeing all kinds of concerning things in the news in relation to Qatar and Iran. First of all, why is it hosted at Qatar in the first place since the country violates human rights. And they have already lost. Not only is Qatar in the spotlight now, but Iran is supposedly threatening the families of Iranian players to stop them from engaging in protests for women's rights. Then Iran wants to ban the USA for playing games at the World Cup because the U.S. Soccer Federation changed the emblem on Iran's flag to support the protests. My goodness, drama after drama going on. I don't know too many details because I haven't followed much except for how I keep coming across it in the news. Any thoughts?
  15. China has really taken that too far. I've seen one news article where a woman was crying and being dragged away to an isolation center. And that was recently. There is no telling what human rights violations have occurred since 2019. I don't agree with China's tactics, but they do have one of the largest populations in the world. Let's have a comparison here between China and the USA with Covid statistics. China has extreme policy vs USA having extreme Covid denial. World population~ 8 billion China population~ 1.4 billion USA population~ 335 million Worldwide Covid cases~ 645 million China Covid cases~ 311 thousand USA Covid cases~ 100 million Worldwide Covid deaths~ 6.6 million China Covid death~ 5,233 USA Covid death~ 1.1 million China has had very few cases and deaths compared to the world even with their large population size. The USA has the most cases in the whole world and the most deaths in the whole world for Covid. That is extraordinary statistics for the USA being such a developed country with less people mohave this kind of an embarrassment. So these two extremes in China and the USA are both bad examples to set for the world. So where is the middle ground? China stops the spread by using force and the USA allows the spread through conspiracy driven ignorance. This is a pandemic and needs to be treated as such. But we do not need to violate human rights and we do not need deniers. We have already given the virus plenty of opportunity to mutate into different variants. So I believe Covid is here to stay in the long run and we might have to get vaccinated every season just like the flu shots. Or maybe we will develop a natural immunity, but how many have to die before that happens? So all I can say, is based on these statistics of these two countries, neither are right. Take a look at these stats and see how stupid America looks by how much they have led the world in deaths and cases. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
  16. What water is safe to drink? If you drink bottled water you get plastic contaminants loaded with estrogens. If you drink tap water… First, if your water is hard meaning it has lots of calcium, I’m skeptical it could lead to kidney stones. I am angry at the world right now because I live in a place that has hard water and I just had the first condition in a rabbit that has a hard time urinating. I didn’t know that my rabbits are exposed to a high calcium intake in tap water which rabbits need a very low intake of calcium. How the fuck does anyone survive? Plastics have estrogens that leak into water giving men bitch tits.
  17. I recently played a quest in an open world where I went on a date and I had free roam to do as I wanted and go where I wanted with my companion. It kind of brought out the question, what would you do on a date if you had a pretty map to explore? I found myself doing interesting things. As this discussion progresses we can get into more detail how that date would go. This quest truly was freedom and was amazing.
  18. That system is new to me in games. If I die, they level up and fight each other for power. And when I encounter them again, they remember me and taunt me. Kinda cool.
  19. FTC Chair Lina Khan is doing a great job so far and her term ends in late 2024. Her team has already blocked the acquisition of the largest attempted chip merger of U.S. Nvidia trying to buy UK chip supplier Arm Ltd for $40 billion. The FTC also blocked Meta's acquisition of VR developer Within Unlimited. But it looks like the UK beat the USA to the punch because the UK Competition and Markets Authority has already opened up an investigation into the acquisition of Microsoft and Activision for unfair competition in the UK. So we will see if the FTC in the USA has as big of balls as the CMA in the UK. As a gamer, I hope this transaction gets destroyed because Microsoft is too big and they have already had antitrust lawsuits and this acquisition is literally a slap in the face of fair competition. And it's not just buying up Activision, but also involves Google's complaint about hardware sales, and who knows what other loops Microsoft can take advantage of owning most of computer hardware and service. Even if Microsoft makes a 10 year contract to not make Call of Duty exclusive, what happens after 10 years? We will be here again. And if the wrong people are lobbied and corrupt the FTC, then we enter a new corporate consolidation phase eliminating fair competition. That is exactly how vulnerable the USA is these days, sad to say. But we currently are in safe hands looking out for the best interests of consumers till 2024.
  20. A pretty good tactic is to have a settings option where you increase your damage intake making you die easily. You could also change the damage settings on your enemy. But you would make them as weak as you are dying in two hits. They can make them have good AI too. Just last night I was shooting a bow at the enemy and as soon as I raise the bow, the enemy dodges. Every time. So I had no choice but to run at him and attack. If you had less ammo, you would also be more conservative what you shoot at. But I hate it trying to unload a clip on someone to finally kill them then reload while I get shot by others. Especially when you see them wearing a vest or armor, they try to give the illusion they are protected by most bullets but you still have to blast them in the head several times. A head shot should always be an instant kill. Some games even have arrows all stuck in them and still fighting. It looks cool, but not real. Nothing like fighting a warrior with an arrow stuck right through their eye socket and still fighting. Strength doesn't add a stronger brain. Strength doesn't give you extra synapsis in the brain or a different circulatory route. Head shots should always be killers. But of course that would take the fun away. I love shotguns for the specific reason to blast them apart one shot usually, and send them plastered to a wall and slide down real slow with chunks of internal components resisting gravity in thick consistency of blood and goo. If you think about it, leaving off those details is the reason for bullet sponges. Games need to focus on realistic effects of gun shot wounds and body parts flying off and not get censored like other countries do which could lead to unrealism and a video game developer drift towards bullet sponging. Gore respects the bullet. Extra gore leads to less bullets. So if you don't want bullet sponging, you need to respect the bullet and have lots of gore.
  21. Really the only solution for urgency is to play the main mission or look for a side quest. I like how some open worlds have a leveling system for different regions of the map so you know to stay within your level on the map and not wonder too far off and lose your guidance of what you want to do or where to go. It helps keep you focused on a certain region and explore that area first. Usually if you do a main quest, it will take you to a new area and give you an idea of what to go back and explore. And you might unlock new abilities to try out, or new available quests on the map. I've set my own goals before like setting a point on the map I want to reach and explore everything near that path along the way. It usually opens up something interesting.

  24. Simulations are probably the best example where gameplay meshes with the theme. Another good example is Destroy All Humans. Not sure what worst would be. Probably a game where you bring a knife to a gun fight.
  25. I believe the Big Bang theory is a miracle. Even if the theory isn’t exact, so what. It’s a miracle how we are the perfect distance from the sun, have gravity and ozone layer, caught in rotation for seasons and have enough elements to sustain life. To me that is all complete randomness, which makes it a miracle that it even happened the way it did. We don’t know how big the universe is so maybe this isn’t even a rare event. Our lack of knowledge makes it look like a miracle. And others try to make sense of it by believing in supernatural entities. Their miracle would be a gift from God, my miracle would be perfect randomness.
