I often find that well made and rewarding side quests are an essential aspect to making an RPG feel complete. I liked Skyrim and Oblivion's side quests as they feel really organic and natural. As long as side quests are signposted well and the objectives are clear, I enjoy going off the beaten path from the main story to go on "my own" little adventure.

Yeah, I’m usually done with work and have put my daughter to bed by night time so that’s when I usually get my game on.

Bioshock or Black Ops would probably be my picks. The former for its strong narrative, aesthetic and atmosphere and the latter for its genre-defining online MP and its addition of zombies.

In general, smaller and tighter maps are more fun and kinetic imho. Nuketown, Hijacked, Summit, Jungle, Firing Range are some of my fave COD maps and they’re all pretty small and compact.
