  1. As someone who is part of the Sonic hacking scene, I've seen some amazing hacks throughout the years. In fact, some of the tech members on Sonic Retro actually were hired on by Sega to work on Sonic Mania, so in some cases some companies will hire fans to fix bugs or work on new games. Modding is great because it brings life into games you've played numerous times and adds new twists.
  2. When I was about 9 or 10 years old, I started to get addicted to playing video games. It was getting to the point where I didn't want to hang out with friends, I just wanted to stay inside and play my Playstation. I'm not sure what clicked in my brain, but one day I realized "You know what, I do want to go outside." Maybe my parents played a role in getting me to put the controller down for a bit, but that was over 20 years ago. I have a friend who became addicted to playing League of Legends. She was so bad that she would rarely take showers and didn't have a job for a long time because of it.

    Anime

I am currently watching My Hero Academia, I just need to watch one more episode and then I'll be caught up. I've been meaning to watch Black Clover, my backlog is huge! My coworker gave me a huge list of different anime to watch. As for my favorite classic anime it's gotta be Sailor Moon! Of course I don't mind Yu-Gi-Oh and the older seasons of Pokemon as well as Digimon.
  4. I originally wanted a PS3 but they were sold out at every store I went to, so I settled for a 360. I ended up getting a 360 Elite model in 2010 so I didn't really worry too much about the RROD at the time. I'm guessing the motherboard inside was a Jasper but it could have been a Kronos board since later revisions of the Elite model used the Kronos board. I never had a issue with my old 360, I ended up selling it in 2016 since I needed money at the time.
  5. I categorize my games Alphabetically and by console, but I keep all my Sonic games separate from the rest of my collection since it's my favorite gaming franchise. My sonic games are categorized by release date. However, I've run out of space on my shelf so I'm going to need to invest in a bigger shelf at some point. :V
  6. I've seen JacobR get a PS4 from Wish and the console that he received was banned. That's got to be annoying to deal with, thankfully I've never had this issue before. I also don't buy used consoles that often, the only used consoles I'll purchase are retro ones. One time I traded in my Switch Lite to a local game store, they didn't even bother factory resetting the console. In fact the person who got the console didn't even bother making their own account, since they ended up using my account to play games and watch Youtube. They even purchased a game under my account, but with their own card. I removed their card information from my account once I got my new Switch and logged out of my other console. I tried contacting Nintendo, but they didn't do much so I got a "free" copy of Cuphead. :V
  7. I feel like I may have too many games, but looking at a few other posts above maybe my collection isn't as big as I think it is. xD Anyways, I probably will sell some of my games eventually since there are titles I haven't even played yet that I've had for years now. I know a few of my coworkers were interested in buying some games from me.
  8. What's up Progrumz great seeing you here! Hope you enjoy your stay. 🙂
  9. I watched a short film titled "Fragile.com" and let me tell you it absolutely sucked. The acting was terrible, and the ending was even more rotten than the acting was! I've been watching short films here and there the past month or so and this was the worst one. Even one titled "Snake D*ck" was better than this, because at least that was satire!
  10. Seeing how fast technology evolves, I can definitely see mobile gaming getting better over time. I mean it already has, back when I was a kid growing up in the 00's, we had Java based phones with games that really couldn't do much. They weren't as technically impressive as what handheld consoles were doing during that time. Then in the early 10's when we first got smartphones, these phones were much more capable of running apps and games. Now days, mobile titles are getting more impressive. I bet we'll be seeing more VR based games for mobile platforms in the future and they will be much more impressive than they are now.
  11. Do Dino nuggets count? 😛 Gummy bears are okay, but they're not one of my favorite snacks. I love chicken nuggets still, and Dino nuggets are the best ones! There's just something about the shape that makes them taste better to me for some reason.
  12. I wonder if he owns the rarest Sonic titles... my main focus is to own every Sonic title but I know I'm not going to be able to obtain at least three of them. (Sonic 2 in 1 on the Game Gear is extremely rare, I know Sonic fans who have pretty much every title but that one. Sonic Spinball on the Master System is very hard to come by, especially here in the states since the Master System didn't do that well here... Heck pretty much all the SMS titles are going to be difficult for me to get. :S) My collection is only worth around $1,000 according to Gameeye. (I'm not selling anything though. :P) He's lucky to have all these titles! It's also cool that he's trying his hardest to preserve these games and protect them from disc/bit rot. Climate control is definitely a huge factor, but unfortunately even games kept in good condition can suffer from bit/disc rot over time. :S
  13. I've heard that Goldeneye 007's Xbox port really isn't that great. It's a shame too, there was supposed to be a XBLA remaster of the game that was worked on by Rare in the late 00's that would have been a far more polished version of the game. But however, due to licensing issues it was never released and was actually leaked in 2021. If the developers were allowed to use this port of the game, it really would have been much better.
  14. At first I was really invested in this project, I didn't give them any money but I was keeping an eye out on the project. I was also watching Madlittlepixel's videos on the console too. At this point I think it's safe to say that it's dead. It's a shame though, I'm a Earthworm Jim fan and really wanted to see Earthworm Jim 4 come out. I guess even if the Amico was to be released, I don't see it fairing well against other platforms.
  15. Maybe I'm biased, but Sonic is the best mascot hands down. I'd also say Mario is a big name too, and even Pikachu at this point. I remember when Pokemon was brand new and my mom would call every single Pokemon Pikachu. xD But Sonic has stood the test of time, sure he's had terrible games but really the good outweigh the bad. Most gamers only focus on the negative, and rarely talk about the positives. Not to mention Sonic had the longest running comic based on a video game character, and recently with the two live action movies he's really been in the spotlight lately. Also Sonic Prime was just released back in December and had some great ratings and many people tuned in to watch it. Sonic is a big name in other countries too, Brazil for example still produce Master System consoles since it's very expensive to import games to their country. I'd even argue that Sonic was the bigger mascot in the UK than Mario, from what I've heard from UK Sonic fans.
  16. I used to prefer the long box cases, but as someone who owns Sega CD and Saturn games I know how flimsy these long box cases are. Don't get me started on Nintendo's cheap cardboard cases for their old cartridge games. xD I lost my old Pokemon boxes because of this, I seriously don't get why they couldn't have used plastic cases like Sega did back in the day. Sega does what Nintendon't. 😛 (Sorry I couldn't resist that last bit.) So I have to say jewel cases are better IMO.
  17. Mine is hands down the Sega Mega Drive or Genesis if you live in North America. This was the first gaming console I played as a kid, with Sonic 1 being the first game I ever played too. I currently own four of them, including a Sega CD model 2 and a Sega 32X. My second favorite gaming console is probably a tie between the PS2 and Gamecube. I have many fond memories playing both consoles as a teenager in the 00's.
  18. I've got to say as a Sonic the Hedgehog fan, our community has the most dedicated fan base. We've got numerous talented people who work on fan comics, fan games, and even hacks. I'm part of the hacking community, and am a Tech Member on Sonic Retro, one of the largest Sonic sites on the internet. In fact, some of the other Tech Members on the board went on to help make Sonic Mania, as well as the mobile ports of Sonic 1, 2, and CD. Not to mention the same fans worked on Sonic Origins recently. Sure we've got our share of terrible fans, but every single fan base has a toxic side. Next I would say the Pokemon community is also very dedicated as well, there's a large modding scene there too.
  19. I like playing randomized roms of the Generation 1 Pokemon games. There's the Universal Pokemon Randomizer program that will work on Pokemon games from Generation 1 all the way up to Generation 5. You can randomize your starter Pokemon, music, what Pokemon you'll encounter, trainer classes, and trainer party Pokemon. There is also a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit) randomizer, but it's limited to what it can randomize. You can't randomize the level layouts too much, otherwise you'll encounter collision issues.
  20. As much as I love Final Fantasy 6, I say go with Earthbound first. It's definitely my favorite RPG on the SNES, it's so bizarre and eerie at the same time. It's also got one of the most creepiest sounding tracks in a non horror video game, not Giygas' theme but the Cave of the Past.
  21. I love Streets of Rage 4, and pre ordered it once pre orders went live! I grew up with a Genesis and played SoR 1 and 2 as a kid. I need to get back to playing SoR 4 though, I haven't finished it yet. Axel is my favorite character in the franchise.
  22. I've been playing Pokemon Blue with just a Weedle. I just got the Poke Flute and Weedle is at level 52. It definitely hasn't been an easy challenge, I'm not looking forward to the elite four. I can assume Weedle will be at level 100 by the time I make it there. xD I've also been playing Shadow the Hedgehog again, I want to try and get every single ending. It's a eh game, definitely not one of my favorite Sonic games. I used to like it more when I was a edgy teenager when it came out in 2005.
  23. Hey everyone I'm Ravenfreak, I'm a 32 year old nerd! I mainly enjoy retro games the most but I do play modern games as well. Other things besides games that I like are anime/manga, cartoons/comics, music, movies, forums, and I do enjoy programming from time to time. My favorite animated series is Teen Titans, and my favorite gaming franchise is Sonic the Hedgehog.
