  1. I typically won't listen to music while playing a game on my PC, however if I'm playing a RPG and need to grind to go up levels then I'll put some music on in the background. That way I can get lost in the music while grinding.
  2. The first PC I ever got was a old HP pavilion desktop that ran on Windows 98 in 2006. I was able to get online for a brief period of time by using an old AOL trial disc. Once the trial was up, I wasn't able to get online again until late 2008 after I graduated high school and got a HP Pavilion laptop. It ran Windows Vista, which is one of the worst operating systems I've dealt with. I couldn't play any modern games on it, only emulators.
  3. My favorite gaming franchise has already ventured in different genres before, and honestly Sonic just works best as a platformer more than anything else. There's been a turned based RPG, a few fighting games, and a few racing games. The racing games were fine since part of Sonic's gameplay is speed. The fighting games were decent, and Sonic and the Secret Rings was okay but it had terrible music. We even got a visual novel game, which is my least favorite genre of gaming. As for my other favorite games, Pokemon has ventured into the fighting genre, dungeon crawling genre, and even tactical rpg styles of games. I can't really imagine it being anything other than a series that's competitive, I don't think it'd work well as a platformer.
  4. I'm all for people wanting to play single player games with cheats if they wish to, however I do have an issue with cheaters when it comes to pvp games. Cheaters get an unfair advantage over other players who don't cheat. I heard recently that there were a lot of players at the recent Pokemon Tournament that were banned from the tournament since a lot of them tried to use hacked Pokemon.
  5. When I do play co-op games I prefer to play with friends over strangers. Every once in a while I don't mind playing with strangers though too, you could make new friends that way if you do! I'm a very competitive gamer though, so if I do play online I usually don't do so with a mic otherwise the other players might hear me get angry. xD
  6. I forgot that Netflix offers games until I read this thread. I never bothered to see if any of the games they offered are worth it though, but since it's often not talked about I'm sure the service isn't that great. Plus since they only offer mobile games, it's no wonder why no one seems to really use it. xD
  7. I loved the Wario Land series of games on the Gameboy and I wish we got more of them. I always thought the Warioware games were way too bizarre, they were definitely more catered to Japanese gamers. Waluigi needs his own game, I like him better than Wario and I would think it'd be cool to see him star in his own title. At this point I just don't see Nintendo doing much with these two characters.
  8. As long as they're getting their chores and homework done, then they should be able to play to their hearts content, however they still need to get exercise so I would encourage them to take a break for a good hour or two to get fresh air and stretch their legs. When I was a child, I was able to play as long as I wanted to and as long as I got all my chores and homework done but my parents also encouraged me to go out and hang out with friends. Game addiction is real, and you wouldn't want your kid to get addicted.
  9. The graphics are definitely going to be even more realistic than they already are. If you see how AI can generate images to make them look real, I suspect games will look so good you couldn't tell if it was a screenshot of a game or a picture that someone took. VR will be in more households as the technology to make VR headsets will be much cheaper to make so it'll be more affordable for people.
  10. I watch mainly Poketubers but I also enjoy watching Jacob R, Modern Vintage Gamer, and I occasionally will watch Spawn Wave as well. The Poketubers I watch are Scott's Thoughts, MahDryBread (though he does play games other than Pokemon), and Jrose11. I typically don't watch let's players since they're a bit too over the top for me. Most mainstream gaming channels don't play games I'm interested in either.
  11. I know there are tons of people who missprounounce the name of certain Pokemon. For example, most of the internet seems to misspronounce Rattata and it drives me insane to no end. That's the only Pokemon that bothers me so much when people missprounounce it's name. I know in some cases since the characters or game name is a Japanese word/name it can be harder for the western audience to pronounce their names correctly. Also translations can be off too, just look at Aeris/Aerith in Final Fantasy 7. Another example is Tina/Terra in Final Fantasy 6.
  12. I always get mad whenever I get my butt kicked in a competitive game. Honestly this is the main reason why I don't play against other people often, I'd rather play a game by myself or in co-op mode. I used to be really bad as a kid, I remember one time I dueled my cousin in Yu-Gi-Oh the Eternal Duelist Soul and he was about to defeat me so I disconnected the link cable. xD
  13. I did play Pacman as a kid! Of course I was born in 1990, so I didn't get to experience the Pacman fever that took the nation in the 1980's. I played the arcade version of Pacman at a local pizzeria when I was young. I liked Ms. Pac Man better than Pacman though. I loved the Genesis version of Ms. Pac Man the most, but the arcade version was good too.
  14. The only few video games that I've played that had time travel in it was Sonic CD, Legend of Legaia, and Chrono Trigger. I still need to go back and finish Chrono Trigger someday, I own the game on the PS1. I know that version runs a bit slower than the original SNES version, but it's got animated cutscenes that look fantastic. I love Sonic CD, I never been able to collect all the time stones, but I always manage to make a good future by destroying the animal capsules in the past stages. I also love Legend of Legaia, there's only a small part of that game where you go back in time. It's my favorite RPG on the PS1! Though unfortunately it's right at that part that the PS3 can't read the game... So not all games are backwards compatible fully on the PS3 which is a shame.
  15. I've played it before, but honestly it's never really been fun to me. I know for it's time it was a state of the art game, but the gameplay is just too slow, boring, and monotonous. I only played it a little bit before playing a different game.
  16. I currently have a Power A controller that works well, plus it was much cheaper than a Pro controller. I also have the Hori Sonic Split Pad Pro for my Switch and they're way better than the Joycons IMO. I rarely use the Joycons, between being afraid that mine are going to get stick drift, the buttons are too tiny and they just don't feel right in my hands. That's just for my Switch, I currently have two controllers for my SNES, two for my Gamecube, two for my NES, two for my N64, and just the touch pad for my WiiU. That's just my Nintendo consoles though!
  17. Spyro the Dragon was definitely my favorite platformer on the PS1! I still own my original copies of the first three games and I also own Reignited Trilogy on the PS4 too. My favorite is definitely Year of the Dragon, though I've never actually 100% completed the game before. I always lose the race against the yetis in the super bonus stages. I haven't played any of the games after Year of the Dragon other than Enter the Dragonfly a little bit.
  18. This is one of the few Disney Genesis titles that I never played. It's cool that we're getting a re-release of this classic on modern platforms! I'm probably going to skip this release though, I've got a Everdrive and four Genesis so I can easily play the original on my real Genesis and CRT tv.
  19. I thought they got rid of the $1 game pass subscription a long time ago. No surprise there that they waited to remove it right before Starfield was released. I canceled my Game Pass subscription, I haven't played my Xbox One in a long time and the last game I played on it was a 360 game anyways. I do want to eventually upgrade to a Series X though, but it won't be anytime soon.
  20. Honestly seeing how many NFT games have been popping up lately, it wouldn't surprise me if it's just a matter of time before cryptocurrency is widely accepted as payment for non NFT earning games. People already use Bitcoin to purchase digital goods online, buying games with crypto doesn't sound too farfetched.
  21. Honestly it doesn't surprise me that Animal Crossing is banned in China. Believe it or not, there was a 14 year ban on Video games in China! Thank god I don't live there, I can't imagine living in a country where you're restricted on how you can live your life.
  22. Hands down it has to be Pearl Jam's version of Last Kiss. No other song makes me as sad as this one does, even the original version of the song doesn't get me in the feels. Eddie Vedder just has a large vocal range that can make a song sound even more emotional than it already is.
  23. The only games I'll preorder are Pokemon and Sonic titles, seeing how they're my favorite gaming franchises. I just wish the preorder bonuses for Pokemon were better here in the United States... Lately we've only been getting download codes to lots of Pokeballs, or mediocre healing items where other countries get steelbook editions. 😕 At least with Sonic you get in game bonuses, but I think it's dumb Sega is releasing a digital deluxe edition with extra DLC that the physical release won't have. I'd much rather have a physical copy of the game too.
  24. It's funny they mentioned Earthbound, the reason why it didn't sell well to begin with was the price! It was a whopping $70, with inflation that's around $144 these days! It's a great game of course, but that's why it's hard to find a copy at a good price. Though typically most RPGs from that era that are great and barely got a release typically go for a lot of money. I haven't played any of the other games listed, I've always wanted to give the Mario and Rabbids games a go though.
  25. Congratulations on finishing your game! It's not easy to make a game, let alone to actually finish one too. I'm not too familiar with NFTs or blockchains but I do see your site has great descriptions of what they are. I like the presentation of your website as well, looks great!
