I'd say collecting videogames altough nearly everybody who is into videogames seems to do it these days but i still get shit for it every once in a while, like dude why are you still buying all those games or how the heck do yo keep affording it all or why the fuck do you collect japanese region video games or it's time you grow up the fuck up, you know that sort off comments and in most cases even those comments even come from family and friends.

I love that Amazon, which owns IMDB btw, deleted the 1-5 star reviews on IMDB.
Also love that House of the Dragon got low review scores as well for its "diversity"- oh wait, that didn't happen. HotD did well in spite of its diverse cast. Guess diversity was never really the issue, huh?

Hi everyone. I was looking for a new community to settle down in and found this place via Google. I enjoy RPGs and adventure games, particularly games where your choices affect the story like Mass Effect and Detroit: Become Human. I got into Shin Megami Tensei games recently and I'm currently playing through Devil Survivor: Overclocked on my New 3DS. Aside from gaming, I also like to binge-watch older TV shows like The Sopranos and The Wire, but I haven't had much time to do that ever since I got into the SMT-binge. Oh well.

Believe me, that's not the only ones - there are whole host of IGN reviews that are so wide of the mark that you'd think they were talking about a different game.

Thanks man but IGN's reviews aren't exactly the greatest or most accurate. I'd much rather ask fellow gamers than these journalists who can barely play Cuphead.

Even Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Bleach and many of the more mainstream anime have some very insightful lessons that you can apply to your own life - Boruto is trash (sorry -  had to put that in before anyone accused me of liking that crap).

The pandemic is a very huge contributor because just prior to that, people used to go to cinemas pretty often. Adding to that some major studios such as Warner Bros getting into the streaming game - movie theaters will definitely go the way of Blockbuster.

Anime is so ridiculously diverse that I jsut don't see why people have this perception of anime watchers. They do tend to oversexualize some things in anime but that's not why we watch them (maybe I should say I instead lol).

Can you blame him? You can't give him the cookie because you gave it to a rock? An inanimate object? Elmo has every right to be pissed.

I used to love Sims initially but it really became exhausting after a couple of weeks. It really is like having a second life and I got extremely bored of it as well.

awww, that's a bummer, raft is good, but I mainly watch content creators getting creative on YouTube.

Maybe you should try the forest, it has a good story, or maybe rust, since it's a survival multiplayer. 😁

Play some Raft for 103 minutes. Got bored. Refunded it on Steam.
It's a cool concept, being able to build your home on a raft with lots of customization and island exploration. But man, it reminds me why I dislike survival games. The difficulty curve at the beginning was very steep, especially if you're new to both the game and the genre. It's hard to keep calm and figure out what to do next when the hunger and thirst meters keep you on your toes. Definitely not recommended if you suffer from anxiety issues and panic attacks.

fate stay night is also infamous for it's original "eroge" status. 🤣
I'm aware there's family friendly, versions, but man when you discover years down the road abut that "extra" content. 😂
anyway, I can't blame people too much for lumping everything anime = big fat weeb cringe group of people.

this is the internet, everything in the open is a cesspool. 🤣

you gotta go find people willing to talk about such stuff, those that don't care, don't, and prefer to have shouting matches over twitter. 😂 and based on psychology everyone has their bias.
 
I like lots of "animation" in general, not just "japanime", but anyway,  the internet is full of failure to convice other people about "japanime" anecdotes.

That's true, and I do agree that a large portion of the VN industry thrives on using such fanservice for profit, but what I meant was that people tend to generalize that all VNs are like that, when there's plenty of solid VN titles that aren't just porn simulators, not to mention certain VN studios which publish VNs that avoid sex scenes altogether like Key (Little Busters, Clannad, Kanon, etc. are all family-friendly). The Higurashi games are suitable for all ages, ironically, considering that the anime adaptations are all filled with blood and gore. Most people's favorite anime like Steins;Gate and Fate/Stay Night came from visual novels too.
I just think it's a shame for people to just dismiss such a great storytelling medium as "hurr durr, cringey nude anime girls go brrr."

Very rarely unless it's for a franchise I love, and I don't generally get interested in a lot of AAA franchises most people love. Generally, I just find it difficult to get into a new franchise I've never known before, so I became a very fussy buyer. The last time I paid for a game before it was even released was for Soul Hackers 2, but only because I've devoted myself to play all SMT games. Before that, it was the Chaos;Head Double Pack on the Switch, which is set to release this October.
Usually, I would only wait for the reviews to come out and decide from the word-of-mouth whether the game is worth playing or not. And even then, I would probably wait up to two years before I find the motivation to buy the game.

They are being sued for their greed right now after all, Sony.

I feel like Detroit: Become Human had some decent tracks too that enhanced the thrill and emotions of the scenes, like "Now", from Connor's chase sequence. God, that was so good. Made the scene so much more intense:

I really need to get back to watching The Wire and The Sopranos someday. I had to stop when I went on my SMT binge, pausing all the shows I was watching. I just got started watching season 2 of both Wire and Sopranos too (and season 2 of Breaking Bad as well).
The Wire is a tough show to watch though because of its pacing. lol I had to replay certain scenes sometimes because I would miss out on what the characters were talking about. It's easier to follow the show though than say... Mad Men, which I was also watching season 2 of.

You're right about how evil HIM was in the early seasons of Powerpuff Girls in the 1998 version of the series specifically making the first appearance in episode Octi Evil. 
On the other hand, Mojo Jojo happens to be my top pick favourite villain in Powerpuff Girls after his mutation. 

It is a very fresh take on superhero shows that made it so appealing for all audiences. I love how the earlier seasons especially had such clever writing that subverts your expectations and filled with lots of witty humor. Plus, HIM is just one of the greatest villains of all time, hands down.

It's just like how the technique of jump scare affects me in some games especially the horror one's. At one point when I wasn't used to it, in games like Outlast, Silent Hill and Until Dawn, it was technically difficult to play the game at first.
