What is the most unusual feature you have seen on a smartphone?
Shortie replied to killamch89's topic in Mobile
I always remember this myself back when I had a Windows phone. The phone was great, don't get me wrong and I still have it stored somewhere in the house and I know it still works but as you say it very soon ended up broken and no longer worked as it should. It was nice to have everything in one place when it did work though, it's a shame Microsoft has a track record of breaking good things. -
I would definitely have to go with the alarm that goes off if you walk a certain distance away from your phone, not only would I find that hilarious but I also feel it would help me greatly on the amount of times I put my phone down and forget where I put it. Once I walked away from it by a certain distance it would call out to me and I wouldn't have to look high and low wondering where I left it LOL

I have the Huawei P30 Pro and when I am playing certain games I find I struggle sometimes. As much as I am able to play, hitting the right area on the screen can sometimes be difficult I have found depending on the screen size. A few years ago I did have a tablet that I was using for games and it was a 10 inch screen. I found that much better to use for playing mobile games than my phone but unfortunately, the laptop battery died on me and I have not been able to replace it.

What was it like seeing people play video games for the first time?
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
It was my kids that I experienced playing a video game for the first time. Namely Toy Story 3 was the game they first started playing and they had a lot of fun with it. Seeing their faces light up when they completed tasks or when they completed missions was really nice to see. As they got older, Fortnite was the one I also loved seeing them play for the first time. Nothing beats that first win you get on Fortnite when you start playing and the joy on any kids face when they do it is amazing! -
The last game I played was Fortnite for the new season, Chapter 4 Season 2: MEGA. So far I am really happy with the new season and I feel they have taken this season in a new direction. The first season of Chapter 4 was okay but I did lose interest part way through I will admit. I am hoping that Epic Games keeps things going well even with the updates through season 2.

When it comes to games that have both a main story and side quests I like to play through the main story and complete side quests as best I can during the main story gameplay but if I still have a lot of side quests left after completing the main story, I don't mind going back through and completing the side quests that are left as long as I enjoyed the game on my first play through.

At the moment I use both Gmail and Hotmail for all my emails. I have three accounts on Gmail, one is personal, the other one is business and another one is for forums that I join so that I can keep everything separate, My Hotmail email is connected to my Xbox account so everything that comes into my emails from my Xbox account goes into there keeping it separate from any other emails.

When it came out that they were trying to make it so that women didn't have a say on what would happen to their own bodies when it came to abortions that was enough for me and it annoyed me. Many women choose that option for more than just birth control and it should be her right to do so. I agree that if a woman consistently gets pregnant and uses abortion as a way of birth control that should be stopped, that is never what it should be used for but in this day and age to suggest that executing women for having an abortion may be possible is beyond how far I thought it would ever go. It really does feel like the world is going backwards.

As someone who was brought up with parents and family members who hated any kind of racist words or racial slurs I am a firm believer that they should never be used. All too often many people feel that they can use racial slurs just because many others do or because they have heard others use it towards someone else thinking it's fine or normal to do so. I now have kids myself and I have told them that I will not tolerate any kind of racial slurs or racial comments and I have often in the past caught them using them randomly in public because they have heard their friends say it. You never know how someone may react if they hear you use a racial slur whether it be towards them or not.

When it comes to books being available on the internet, I do feel that they should all be available on the internet so that you have a choice as to whether you would like them to be either physical copies or online copies. In terms of them being free, I don't believe they should be unless the author of the book decides to make them free. Many authors put hours and even works of work into writing books and I do believe they should receive something for their work unless they choose not to.

My cat is no longer with us as she passed last July at the age of 12 but I would often joke around and make up things she would probably be saying to us when she would look at us, it often made my kids laugh to be honest. Sad reality is, if she could speak, she more than likely would have said half the stuff I said she would say if she could talk. LOL

It's very much understandable to feel that way and I can't say I blame you for feeling that way being what he put you through to be honest. I myself was in a mentally abusive relationship for a while, scared to leave when I had it drummed into my head no one would listen to me and no one would care. I am now finally free from that and have been for 8 years now but due to me having kids with the person, I have had contact with him regarding maintenance payments. He contacted me regarding them saying he was struggling bad, normally you would feel for someone due to that, I definitely didn't after all he had put me through.

With YouTube being so overly saturated now it does take a lot more than it used to for you to get discovered on YouTube. With their release of YouTube Shorts though, I myself and also many others that I know who stream and also upload to YouTube have found working both shorts and also longer videos works best to get discovered. So for example, post your usual longer videos like you would normally but try to incorporate in some shorts if you are able to. If you are consistent you will start to notice a difference. I hope that helps 🙂

All Xbox PC games will come to competing cloud service NVIDIA
Shortie replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
This might actually be a good thing for Xbox and their PC games. As you stated, many people don't want to have to download the Xbox App to be able to play games through their service and if you are like me and are on Windows 10, the version of the Xbox App available doesn't work for me anymore and I would need to upgrade to Windows 11 to gain access to it again like I used to, something like this would be ideal for those who also can not gain access to the Xbox App. -
I will be honest, I didn't pick up on that when I read the post so my mind must have read it as use instead of sue. I get like that myself though I go back and check something I wrote even after submitting it and can't believe I missed something or I managed to type something different, it's very frustrating.

How much space is left on your consoles/HD's?
Shortie replied to aerodynamik's topic in Technology & Gadgets
I will admit, I have had my PC since 2018 now and I don't think I have ever used all the space or been told that my disk space is low either throughout all those years. It does take a while to go through 1TB of storage even with some games and other apps on your PC or laptop. -
That I am aware of I do not think there has been anyone I know who has received a medal from the government or military or at least not that I have been told. I would have to ask family members regarding that to see if they know anything, my grandma would be the one that would know if anyone did receive anything.

For me it would either have to be sour gummy worms as I can eat those like crazy they are so good or it would have to be these fish shaped snacks that we get that are salt and vinegar flavour. They are so good I could eat a full pack to myself but I am sure my body would not like that so I always get them to share.

Last game I played was Harvest Land on my phone for a little while earlier. I find it's been nice to sit and just spend a small amount of time on a mobile game a few times a day to clear my head a little and be able to focus better on things.

If I remember rightly I do believe they did have a live stream on Twitch over an opening day at a location which I thought was a shame. Many want to be able to attend these events and get involved with them and losing that meant that E3 and many other gaming conventions lost their spark that they once had. Would be nice to see it back but I don't think we see it happening any time soon.

Did the RROD keep you from playing on the Xbox 360?
Shortie replied to The Blackangel's topic in Xbox
It sure did. I remember one of the first Xbox 360's I got, it was fine for a little while and then I was hit with the RROD a few weeks later. Luckily I was able to take it back to the store where I purchased it and they did a straight swap for a new one and then would send the one with the RROD back to Microsoft but it was a pain to have to go through that. I remember i had a friend who I was playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2 with, his 360 had an RROD but the console and game kept playing. The screen was more like a heat sensor screen with all the colours. Let's just say it made it easy to complete terrorist hunt even though I don't think it would have helped his Xbox to keep it running on an RROD LOL
