What popular TV shows or Movies have you never seen?
Shortie replied to reecedouglas1's topic in Movies & TV
As I am not much of a TV show or movie watcher like I used to be there are quite a few TV shows at least that I can think of that I have never seen and they are Game of Thrones Criminal Minds Rick and Morty Squid Game The Crown Just to name a few. -
I have watched horror movies in the past but in all honesty, they are not something that I watch regularly as I tend to get too scared by them. I have watched ones like Saw, Stephen Kings IT, Exorcist, and Carrie that I can remember off the top of my head. I do feel though that horror movies are not what they used to be years ago, they seem a lot more toned down now.

I have seen some anime myself but I can't say it's something I tend to watch a lot of as it's not something that fully interests me. My son does watch quite a bit of anime though and he seems to really enjoy it and does get talking to me about it sometimes.

So many people seem to love Wednesday and I have seen so many clips around the internet of it that I have watched and I will admit, I am quite eager to see it myself but not having a Netflix subscription at the moment, I have not been able to. I am eager to watch it though so hopefully I will be able to soon.

Yeah I'm not sure about this movie. I enjoy the games but this does not look like a movie that I would be able to sit and watch. I feel like a lot of movies like this that are from games either work or they do not and in some cases they try it in hopes it will bring some money in but it is never as good as many will think it may be. This will probably be a movie I will skip.

The future of technology and its impact on society
Shortie replied to aerodynamik's topic in Technology & Gadgets
I have to agree with Killamch89. Technology will continue to progress and I can't imagine what state technology will be in in say 5 years time but I can more than likely imagine that it will make the users of the technology more of a slave to it. We are already pretty much a slave to technology how it is now so with technology getting better and giving us more ways to do stuff using the technology, it will only make people use it more and more. -
I am someone who understands why people do use clickbait titles as even though it's not advised it does get people the views but it does annoy me a lot when they do it. Especially when they are misleading and you waste your time watching a video thinking you may find out something to not find out anything. One person I remember that used a lot of click baiting to get views to his channel but nothing ever happened in his videos that he had mentioned in the title was AliA.

How much space is left on your consoles/HD's?
Shortie replied to aerodynamik's topic in Technology & Gadgets
At the moment on my Xbox One X I have 719,4 GB of storage left but the Xbox was recently reset due to issues I was having so I only have a few games on it that I have played at the moment and I have been adding them as I have been playing them. On my phone I have used 80.51 GB or 128GB. I did recently remove some games I no longer play but I was at max before I did that. -
Hotmail or Gmail? Which one do you prefer?
Shortie replied to The Blackangel's topic in Technology & Gadgets
I have had my Hotmail address since around 2004/2005 and I will be honest, that used to be my most preferred email service. Once gmail was released and I made an account with them for my emails, I found them to be more convenient over Hotmail when I started using them and now I pretty much use Gmail for everything but I do still have access to my Hotmail account due to me using it for my Xbox Account but that never really gets used for anything aside from gaming related emails for my Xbox account. -
I used to have a tablet but unfortunately the battery completely died and would no longer charge and I have never picked up a new tablet since. I do miss having a tablet if I am honest as I feel I can do so much more on a tablet than a smartphone, even when it comes to playing mobile games, I find it easier to play them on a tablet than a smartphone. The tablet I owned was a Lenovo tablet and it was a really good tablet and the battery lasted a while even when I was playing games on it and left my phone free to use for other purposes as well.

When I got my Xbox One X back in 2019 I got an official controller with the console which was wireless. Unfortunately over a year after I got the console, my official controller got stick drift through use and it was out of warranty so I ended up going the third party route with my controller for a while which ended up in me using wired controllers instead of wireless. It wasn't until last October that I was able to get myself a new official Xbox One controller that was wireless and I have never been happier. You notice just how much having a wire can't bother you when you have to use one. I am someone who always prefers wireless if I have the chance.

How entertainment affects your pets
Shortie replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Technology & Gadgets
This is very true. Many people do not realize just how sensitive animals hearing really is and often don't think about them being loud can affect them. I know when we had our cat before she sadly passed away any really loud noises would scare her and I was always having to tell my kids why she would run like she did if something was loud and they soon started to realize and were more careful. We also have a guinea pig and as much as they do like things like music, anything too high pitched or certain noises and it will bother them. -
I have always been dubious about foldable smartphones if I am honest especially with how they fold now with the screen. I can't say I have heard many issues with these foldable smart phones but I guess I worry about the possibility of it ruining the screen at some point. If foldable smartphones and tablets were possible though that would be a cool thing to have, would allow you to take your tablet with you places without needing a huge space to keep it. In terms of what two consumer products I would like to see merged I'm not sure. There are things I can think of such as maybe a PC and a smartphone so that you could do all the things on your PC that you can do on a smart phone but also use it as a PC as normal as well but in a sense we can already do that as we have apps to be able to do that on our PC's.

Does anyone still read the newspaper?
Shortie replied to melanie_marie27's topic in Technology & Gadgets
It has been a very long time since I ever bought or had a newspaper delivered to my house at all. I always find the latest news I need on either the world wide news or on my local news website and I don't feel the need to buy a newspaper anymore. I can understand why some people will still use this method though and why they are still printed as there are many people that just prefer a newspaper or do not have online access to see the news online. -
Over the years I have used Dell, Lenovo, Acer and HP and out of all of those I would say myself I have had the better experience at least at the moment from Lenovo with Acer being a close second. I have had many bad experiences when using Dell so that is a brand that I tend to stay away from.

I am someone that finds 2FA really useful and I will always use 2FA if it is available on a website that I am using. Most places including forums now offer 2FA and I find it to be useful to protect your account and your personal information unless of course the owner of the site tries to abuse the 2FA in which case I can understand why people may be wary about using it.

What do you prefer a computer or a mobile phone?
Shortie replied to Matan_z's topic in Technology & Gadgets
This is a tough one for me as I use both my phone and my PC equally each day with me keeping up with things when I work and such. I guess when it comes down to it I would much prefer to be on my PC as I can do a lot more on my PC with ease that may be difficult with my phone but I also like to use my phone if I need to do something whilst away from my PC. -
I have only ever used any file sharing apps that are on PC with Google Dropbox being the main one that I have used and also One Drive is another I have used as well. I honestly never knew there were these kind of apps on the phone even though you can pretty much get everything on phones. I can't say I have needed to use file sharing apps on phone though as of yet anyway.

It's funny I saw this topic as my eldest son just mentioned something to me. He recently cut his hand open near the knuckle and it's been difficult for him to use that hand and of course, it's his right hand and he is right handed. He has been struggling to do some things but doesn't always like to get the help as he is quite independent. He not too long ago had to charge his phone and his words were "Why can't they invent phones that charge from sunlight". It got me thinking and I said to him "Who knows maybe we'll see it soon" but I do think that would be quite cool to see if it were even possible.

Mine would probably be the late 70's - early 80's as well. I was born in 1986 and even though I did get to experience some of the technology from the early 80's I don't remember much about it so I would love to be able to travel back that far and be able to experience technology back then that I could remember.

For me it was Fortnite again, I jumped on to check out the latest update and the Wanted update we got as well. Haven't played much of it to be honest but hoping to play a little more this weekend.

How did I not realize LOL don't think I have played that but I have seen it myself played and also seen videos on it. Not sure if it was available on arcades as well it may have been if I remember.
