Like most everyone else, we always tweaked the rules at Monopoly. If you drew a card that made you pay money, landed on a spot that made you pay money, or paid to get out of jail, you would put it in the middle of the board. Landing on free parking got you all the money. If you landed directly on the Start square you got $400 instead of $200. There was something else that was house rule, but I can't remember what the hell it was.

JJ I'm assuming proper names are allowed, as even with a google search I could find no words in any language that both started and ended with the letter J.

If there's nothing else on, I'll watch it. But I'm more into streaming services, and don't even really watch TV anymore. We're actually cancelling our DirecTV and returning our equipment. We've had it for several years, but don't even use it anymore except for a couple shows. So we don't even see any actual point in keeping it. Also that will save us about $150 per month.

I played basketball and soccer. When I was little (like 8 years old) I played soccer in the city league. I also played basketball in the city league then played it in high school until I dropped out in my junior year. I moved and changed school districts between 7th and 8th grade. But the football coach in the previous district desperately wanted me to play football when I got to HS, because I could throw a football almost the entire field. he said he wanted me as quarterback. I told him I didn't know anything about football and wasn't really interested. He said he would personally teach me the game. I still don't know anything about football. I watch the super bowl, but that's just for the commercials. The best ones always air for the first time during the super bowl.

Mine is Pavel Datsyuk. He was called The Magician, and that is a well earned nickname. His skill on the ice is unmatched. I went to a game in St. Louis to watch the Red Wings take on the blues. We were down by 2 points and had 3 minutes left in the third period. He pulled it out and we scored 3 and won the game. He got a couple assists and a goal. There was also a game I was watching on TV and he was going by the net and jumped over an opponents stick, shot behind himself, and scored. No other player in the NHL could do the things he could pull off. Unfortunately he retired and is now playing professionally in his home country of Russia. Iwish he would come back as we've had several bad seasons lately. But Lidstrom also retired, then we lost Zetterburg to injury. Our best 3 players. We also lost Howard to retirement in 2020.

I met Rulon Gardner a few years ago. He was a wrestler and won the gold in 2000. He was really nice. I don't know what he's doing now, but I know he doesn't wrestle anymore.

What skill or talent would you most like to learn?
The Blackangel replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
I'm trying to teach myself guitar at the moment. My biggest road block is that I don't have a clue how to read sheet music. It's like trying to read Chinese for me. I don't have a single clue what any dot or symbol means. -
That's actually false. I've been forcibly warehoused several times against my will. I fought like a cornered tiger against the ones that were there to warehouse me but they still put me in them. They do nothing but make the situation worse. They offer no help. They give you a bed and food but that's absolutely it. They make you WANT to kill yourself even more than you already did. They only take people who were suicidal and put them with other suicidal people. These places need to be PERMANENTLY shut down.

Fox news is a propaganda network. They spread lies willingly and are republiKKKlan owned. They bow to dictators like Adolf. He was their messiah, as well as the rest of the republiKKKlan organization. They deny reality and hold the Qanon bullshit as "fighting for the right". It was PROVEN that Russia was involved in getting Adolf in the White House. If you're blind and stupid enough to deny that, then you have no right or privilege to even TALK about politics.

What’s your favorite piece of furniture you’ve ever owned?
The Blackangel replied to killamch89's topic in General Chat
You can get a frame to put a hammock on. I had one years ago and kept it in the house. -
Good guy with a gun?
The Blackangel replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
I carry a .357 magnum when I go out, and will use it if I have no choice. Otherwise, it stays holstered on my hip. I always keep one in arms reach. Right now I have my newest gun right beside me. It's a laser sighted .380. It's compact, but accurate and will get the point across if required. -
I've never seen anyone push so hard for a civil war. The only thing left is to take up arms. They called us "snowflake", "butthurt", and "crybaby" for 4 years. We didn't go around doing any of this. Now they're flipping out and losing the little mind they had, holding Adolf higher than their own deity, and screaming that the election was stolen, while committing a terrorist attack against the capitol? They were screaming "Hang Pence" and destroying Democratic offices. Literally anything Adolf says, they want inscribed on gold tablets and put in churches to replace the 10 commandments. These people are sick. I don't know whether to laugh at them or feel sorry for them. The level of delusion here is something I never could have imagined that a human being could fall into. It is truly mind boggling. I just don't understand how a person, let alone an entire demographic, could be so far gone. It's now showing that this isn't just pissing and moaning about losing the election. This is a mental health issue. We all know Adolf has no chance of getting back into the White House. At least not until 2024. And I guarantee they're going to push to repeal the 22nd amendment, and start a monarchy under Adolf. We have people here in this country that truly need to seek professional help. I'm starting to get frightened by this.

The thing that hockey and soccer fans have in common is that we will and do attack each other at just about every game. Fans are either far too passionate, or far too much of a candy ass to admit defeat. Especially during the cup, both World and Stanley. I don’t like when the Red Wings lose, but I not going to push someone in front of a car. Which is something that actually happened a few years ago at a game. I don’t remember what two teams it was between, but a fan of the team that lost was so pissed off, that he shoved a fan of the team that won in front of an oncoming car. No one died, but he was facing attempted murder the last I knew.

Neither am I. I was hoping someone here would be able to explain it to me. As far as I know, Windows didn’t make a phone.

I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but the reason I play games for so long is because I’m in a wheelchair and on disability. I have nothing but empty time to fill, and games do the trick. I’m stuck sitting on my fat ass all day. But I don’t only play games. I do use my time productively for a couple hours. I’m using Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish at the moment. But I’m still sitting at the same desk that I game on. Very little movement. I have to have my girl exercise my legs because I don’t have the strength to do it myself. But luckily, I know when it’s time to get off the computer. When I get so bored I want to strangle myself, it’s time to shut down.

What type of game intimidates you the most?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I play such a wide variety of games and games genres, that I can’t think of a single type that I would say “intimidates” me. Yeah, there are several kinds I don’t like, but I don’t feel intimidated. Unless military games count, as I can’t play them whether I want to or not due to my experiences in the Marines. -

It's sad, and like @Crazycrab I really don't want to defend the Chinese government either, but I have to give credit where credit is due. At least they're TRYING to find some way to fight gaming addiction and micro transactions. This may not be the best idea, but at least it's a step in the right direction. But either way, it's a hell of a lot more than we're doing here in the US.

There was a time when discs could hold immensely more information that a cartridge. Now however I'm not so sure. For example I have a dual FF7/FF8 cart for my Switch. That's 7 discs of information on one cart. But when I look around, every system uses discs except Nintendo. They did for the Game Cube and Wii. They tried mini-discs for the GC. To my understanding it was because they thought people wouldn't be able to pirate their games. They went back to regular size discs for the Wii. I never messed with a Wii-U so I don't know what they used there. But now they're back to cartridges, which they haven't bothered with since the N64 era, not counting the DS or Gameboy. Is Nintendo crazy? I know we can get microSD carts with a shitload of memory. A 1Tb card is available for a few hundred right now. I have a 512g in my Switch. But that's not the focus here. They're releasing their games on cartridges while Xbox and PlayStation are using discs. Even the PSP used discs. Is Nintendo stubborn or stuck in the past? Do they know something we don't? Do they own the patent on something? I know Sony owns the patent on Blu-ray discs, as they were created by Sony. But considering that there are 7 discs worth of info on one cart, wouldn't that be the smart way to go? My brain is telling me that a cart can hold more information than a disc. I don't remember the capacity of a Blu-ray disc, since blank ones are too expensive for me at the moment. I do know they hold a shitload more information than a conventional disc though. Apparently I'm getting the math wrong somewhere.
