Games that offer the best social experiences
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Rewarding.... Social.... Two words I never would have thought I would see in the same sentence. -
What is a time you got a perfect kill by accident?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Too many to count. I've gotten perfect head shots on people and wild animals both. -
Best ways to recapture the magic of your first playthrough?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
It would all depend on the game. For some I would need to be dodging things like my sperm donor swinging boards and fists at me. For others, I would need to have a game guide in front of me, so I could know what the hell I'm supposed to be doing. -
Has gaming shaped how you relate to others?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Not that I have noticed. I've been misanthropic my entire life, and that hasn't changed except to get more extreme. But it's not related to gaming in any way. I enjoy watching people suffer more now than say, 5 minutes ago. The 6 people in my life that I care about, and yes there are only 6 in my life (not counting a couple email buddies) are an exception. Those few I would gladly die or kill to protect. Until they fuck me just once. Then I will haunt them and fuck their world up beyond anything they could ever fathom. I wasn't diagnosed as a sociopath for no reason. -
Search and discover. Pure dumb luck. Cryptic clues. Violence.

It's a disconnect for me. It gets me away from the real world, which in turn gets me away from a lot of the stressful issues I face. Using a sword with perfect skill (Zelda), jumping on a horse and riding like the wind (RDR2), driving a tank in a nuclear subterranean realm (Blaster Master). Those are things out of possibility for me personally. The last one is also complete fiction. I can't go get on my horse. The swords I own, while fair quality, are beyond anything I have the strength to wield. Which is why when it comes to blades, I tend to stick to those around the size of the one in this pic. But I also tend to have my butterflies and stiletto on me as well.

Situations where you don’t mind not having choices in games
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
When the law comes after me for robbing a bank. If they didn't show up, it would be boring as hell. I could just walk in, knock a few people around, take all the money, and walk out. Not much of a game if you ask me. -
Game characters who give us great examples of how to live
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I would say Charles, Sadie, and Arthur in RDR2. Charles because he is able to keep his head, puts out a commanding aura when he needs, and does what needs to be done when it needs to be done. He doesn't get all hopped up over everything. Arthur because he is a no bullshit kind of outlaw. When something isn't right, he makes it right by whatever means necessary. He'll kill you and think nothing of it if he deems it necessary. He kills in anger. He kills enemy gang members just for fun. And he can read the writing on the wall, when others can't even see it. Sadie because she can get places that men can't. She can come across in the beginning as the demure little housewife, but the moment you let your guard down around her, you're going to end up as female as she is. You won't even know she cut your dick and balls off until after she shot you and the blood is flying. She won't tolerate belligerence towards those she cares about in the slightest way. When you're around people she loves, your life can literally be on the line, so you better at the very least be civil and cordial. -
In what sense? There are so many "boy saves girl" cliché games, and war games, that it's hard to distinguish what a hero would even consist of. Maybe Arthur in RDR2 is a hero, but then again maybe he is a villain. Maybe Link is a hero just due to circumstance, but doesn't want anything to do with it and wants to join with Ganon. More context is needed here.

I got a notification about a new item I had in my Steam inventory today. I looked at it and I could turn it into gems. What the hell is this? What does it mean? Is it like some kind of currency I can use in Steam to pay for games? Like a rewards program, or like the coins you earn in the Nintendo eShop when you buy a game? I've never noticed it before, and can't find any kind of explanation of just what the hell it is.

Worst thing to happen to you because of an autosave?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Death and lost progress. It's why now, I turn that fucking feature off on any and every game I play that has it. -
What did you expect? We're going to have to deal with this bullshit snowflake, butt-hurt, crybaby whining for the next 8 years. After Biden's 2 terms are up, we're going to have to fight like hell to make sure the White House stays blue. If we can get Michelle Obama or Vice President Harris to run for President, then we have an EXCELLENT chance of keeping it blue. Hopefully at least one of the republiKKKlan supreme court judges either dies or does something that gets them removed, so that we can get Democratic judges on that bench. Even better if they're non-xtian so we wouldn't have to deal with all this buybull bullshit running the supreme court. Hopefully that happens soon. Like, yesterday soon. I would be willing to get on the DW to find ways, but I wouldn't have the $ to afford it. And Bitcoin is almost $50k for one coin. It's why people are buying 0.00001 Bitcoin. It's all they can afford, unless they shit quarters and wipe their ass with $20's.

Chauvin found guilty on all 3 counts
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in Debate, Politics, & Religion
Pork protects its own, and fuck everyone else. There's not a cop alive that doesn't abuse its power. It's part of why I think we should just kill them all, and implement vigilante justice as the law of the land. Vengeance is the only true justice anyway. -
It's one of the best horror games ever made, if not THE best horror game ever made. I'm not a fan of first person, but this kind of game couldn't be played any other way.

Horror and Psychological Thriller List/Collection
The Blackangel replied to Reality vs Adventure's topic in Video Games
I've played Layers Of Fear. It's a good one. One you missed though is Remothered: Broken Porcelain. It's a good thriller/horror game. -
Games that were inspired by a true story
The Blackangel replied to Aerielle del Rosario's topic in Gaming Forum
This looks like the kind of game I can relate to all too well. My sperm donor was an extremely abusive drunk, to the point that I started sleeping with a loaded rifle when I was 12. The game is in my wishlist on Steam now. -
Horse meat is extremely tough, unless you spend a shitload of time tenderizing it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s got a good flavor. It’s just really really tough.

Sometimes people make games for the purpose of being as offensive as they can. I don’t remember the exact title but the game made off the Columbine shooting is the perfect example of that. Other times people make a game to specifically involve political issues in the gameplay, and it’s a masterpiece of a game. But the sequel to the game, made with the same model, pisses off at least half the community. If a game is specifically made with politics in it, that’s fine as long as it’s known ahead of time by the consumers. But if they try to be crafty about it and sneak political shit into it, that’s when a problem starts.
-
Fuck it all. There is always going to be some form of "politics" in every game. It doesn't matter what it is. It may show politics from 1000 years ago, or it may be the Queen vs the US President. They're all political in some way.

Games that do well wrapping up loose ends for characters
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
RDR2 does an amazing job of that. All the loose ends are taken care of, and the characters are finally satisfied. -
Do you have any video game art books?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Zelda. It contains all the art concepts from the original Zelda on NES, all the way through BOTW2. And the damn book weighs about a billion pounds too. -
Foreboding and a bit creepy, this one can't be beat.

What video game armor would you wear into battle?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I would just go with a good solid leather armor. It's lightweight, and protects from almost anything. -
When are you willing to let a character you like die?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
The only game I play where this could even be a possibility is RDR2, and the character deaths are non-optional. They're part of the storyline, and you have no option on whether they live or die. -
It's portable and a lot more powerful. I use the Switch Lite. It doesn't dock like the original Switch, but it's a lot more stable. And if I don't want to play a game, I can watch Hulu or Netflix on it. The Switch Lite supports microSD cards that I haven't seen a Switch able to handle. For example I have a 512g in my Lite and about 100 DDL's on it. I also have about 30 carts that I play on it as well. No memory issues and they all run smooth as greased owl shit. The Switch can't support a cart that big. If I had $500 to spare I would buy a 1Tb card to put in it, but I can't afford that. The Switch/Lite is a superior gaming device. It does lack a few titles for whatever reason, but otherwise, it's more than worth getting. Especially for you Skyrim nuts. You can take the game with you so that when you're not home and you start jonesing you can grab your Switch and get your fix. The Witcher 3 is on it as well, for those of you that are all about that game.
