  1. Ascendance on Switch is a great game for anxiety. It's just soothing and the background music is mind relaxing beyond most anything. I also think RDR2 is a good one. You don't have to do anything storyline relatied. You can just jump on your horse and go for a ride. You can stop by any lake or river and go fishing. You can go around picking random plants. You can study the wildlife. You can go to town and take in a show. You can help out strangers in stranger missions. Or you can hang around camp and interact with everyone there. There's really no limit except for your imagination in RDR2.
  2. A bit of fairness. For example in RDR2, you need to collect a lot of different hides for the ultimate satchel. They all have to be perfect. One of those is a squirrel. One of the best places i the game to get a squirrel to spawn is near a wooden bridge. But you're not able to shoot past the bridge. Your bullet only hits invisible wood, no matter how good of a shot you have. You will not hit anything on the other side of the bridge, and you have to be across the bridge to get the squirrels to spawn. But no matter where you in relation to the bridge, your bullet will always hit wood and nothing else if you aim in the direction of the bridge. It pisses me off because the squirrels are thick there, but they won't come up on the same side of the bridge as you. Herbivore bait doesn't help, and scent cover lotion doesn't help.
  3. I would give Layers Of Fear: Legacy my vote. It's so immersive, yet repellent, that it's like a dream state.
  4. I agree with @Patrik on RDR2. It has everything you could want.
  5. Never heard of it, but there's no way a person can reasonably expect to play a game by blinking. We do it thousands of times a day, mostly without even knowing that we're doing it. "Oh no! I blinked and killed myself! DAMNIT!"
  6. No. I don't settle. If I want something, that's what I buy. Or I buy nothing at all. If you wanted a house, would you settle for an abandoned, crumbling warehouse? I've been there, so I can say from experience that I highly doubt it.
  7. I've watched it several times. I have the DVD somewhere around here. It's not bad. Willis did a pretty good job in it. Not his best work, but definitely not his worst either. My vote for his worst would be a tie between The Sixth Sense, and the entire Die Hard series, as all those movies were simply god awful. My vote for his best would be Armageddon. The Last Boy Scout was a damn good movie too.
  8. We all take our home for granted. We look at things around the world, and think about how beautiful it is, and how much we would like to live there, and how boring it is here. But there is always things here that we take for granted because we're used to it. For example, here in the states we have things like the Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone park, Death Valley, Bear Tower, and the great lakes (shared with Canada obviously) just to name a few. If you wanted to go more local, you can find even more. For example here in Missouri, we have dozens of public caves. Meramec Caverns is one of the more popular. It was revered by the local tribes as the home of the Gods. There are also the lakes, many of which are man made, some that are natural though. Look around the world. Greece has its isles. Scotland has the Cairngorns. Australia has the outback and Uluru. Congo has jungles. Brazil has the Amazon. India shares the Himalayas with Nepal and China. Antarctica is in it's own category. That is just one thing from a quick selection of countries around the world. There are also things man made that are something to admire as well. The pyramids at Giza, Stonehenge, the great wall, Nazca lines, Moai of Easter Island, the Colosseum, Teotihuacan, Mount Rushmore, and the Taj Mahal just to name some. Then there are our nonhuman companions of this world. The vast majority of which we could never encounter firsthand without the benefit of a zoo. The zoo that has repeatedly been listed as the best zoo in the world is the San Diego zoo. I've been to many zoos in my life, in several countries, including San Diego. Including one that I was able to play with tapirs and a jaguar in. As well as things like dolphin encounters. Not meaning Sea World, although I did go there once before it was thankfully shut down. And I can say without any doubt that the SD zoo is the best of them all. We have the mysteries of the unexplained and paranormal that have yet to be understood or solved. The moving coffins of Barbados. The Flying Dutchman. Annie Palmer in Rose Hall. The ghosts of the Tower of London. La Lloronoa. Nessie. Kraken. Spedlins Tower. Location of the Ark of the Covenant. Alien abduction. The Roswell incident. Ntavelis's Cave. The hungry ghosts of China. Monte Cristo. Duppies of Jamaica. Big grey man of Ben MacDhui. Bigfoot. And so many more. Then there is the last thing that we know next to nothing about. Our oceans. We can map them using sonar, and catalog different species that we have encountered. But that doesn't mean we know the "hows" and the "whys" of the ocean. If it wasn't for sonar we never would have found the wreckage of the Titanic. Nor would we know about the Mariana Trench. We still don't know how animal life is able to survive at such depths, especially the trench, under such tremendous pressure. So don't just take everything around you for granted. There's always something there that is worth more than you realize.
  9. I'm kinda in the same spot there. My maternal grandmother's family were German immigrants that came to the US some time around the civil war. They didn't speak one single word of English. Nicht eins. So my grandmothers side ended up being perfectly fluent in both German and English all the way up to my grandmothers generation. Her children however, never picked up the language, and us grandchildren never did either. But I bought Rosetta Stone to reclaim that part of my heritage, even though I renounce it for the years of 1930-1945.
  10. Some have photographic equipment in their telescopes, and others simply hold their phone up to the lens and use its camera. This one however, if I remember correctly, was taken by someone that had camera equipment installed in their telescope. I would have to go back to reddit and find the post to be sure. But that would take forever and a day to do.
  11. Good answer. VERY good answer. What’s your favorite exoplanet? I’m drawn to 55 Cancri e myself.
  12. When I try to scroll down to the bottom of the page, instead of letting me stay at the footer of the page, it bumps me back up to the last article that I scrolled past, and loads several more. I probably did this for a half hour before I said screw it.
  13. Yes you can watch Netflix and Hulu on a Switch Lite. Just go into the eShop, and download the app. It's a free download. If you have your account login info ready, just login and you're good to go.
  14. I don't think re-implementing segregation would work. The civil rights movement got "Separate But Equal" repealed a long time ago. True, it could work in theory, but legally it couldn't. The police of a black community couldn't refuse to help a white or Asian person. A bank in a black community couldn't refuse to let a Hispanic or Arabic person open a savings account due to their race. It would get organizations like the ACLU and SPLC to lose their shit.
  15. Is there a way to get the main page to stop loading old articles? I've been trying to get to the bottom of the page, and all it does is bump me up so it can show articles I've either read already, or are old enough that I'm just not interested in.
  16. True heroism goes unnoticed. Or at the very least, unannounced. There are everyday heroes. People who buy a meal for someone who is homeless and starving. People who help someone carry their groceries. People who don't realize their good deed. Those who go off to war, I don't consider them heroes. I don't consider astronauts heroes. What, specifically, did they do that was heroic? If the soldier ran into a crossfire and pulled out a wounded soldier, or did what Forrest Gump did, then yes he/she would be a hero. But commonly they just work at whatever location they're stationed at. And what did the astronaut do? Scientific study, but how is that heroic? I absolutely love astronomy, but that doesn't make me a hero. Real, true, and honest heroism is small and individual.
  17. Back when I was good with electronics, one Halloween I was able to set up a system for a haunted house that had things like clowns and skeletons that walked around and moved as if they were real people. It also had actors, but the skeletons couldn't exactly be an actor. It was fun. I also got a few voice actors to record moans and screams. I also got some to use as disembodied voices. I really went all out for this. But Halloween has lost its charm nowadays.
  18. I have always had the ability to make enemies instead of friends. I was the kid that everyone in school hated. I won't get into how my home life was, because you most likely wouldn't believe me. But needless to say, it was enough that I tried to kill myself more times than I care to try to count. You're right that I am passionate about many things. Others I am blase about. There's something I have said for many years, that sums things up rather well. Love Me Or Hate Me, But You Will Never Forget Me
  19. It is. The bastard died in 2000. It still surprises me how much tension left my body, and how much weight was lifted off my shoulders realizing that I no longer had to worry about how bad the next beating I was going to get would be. I could put that rifle back on the gun rack, and have my bed to myself. Him dying was one of that absolute best things that ever happened in my life. And I can count the good things on one hand and still have fingers left over.
  20. As odd as it sounds, those are often that absolute most challenging puzzles you can face. We always search under floorboards, or dig up random spots in the ground, toss the bed, and the damn thing turns out to be right there on the table. It's due to the fact that our brains are trained to think that puzzle pieces are hidden somewhere that would be hard to find, not where our eyes would hit on it immediately. Honestly, I wish I had thought of that stipulation. That's a damn good one. Kudos @killamch89
  21. Another one I came across is more ominous than straight up horror, but still has that creepy feeling behind it. I swear that I saw a video similar as hell to this on YouTube a while back, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. And I watch so many videos daily (I'm a YT addict) that trying to go through my history to find it is a lost cause. Anyway, here's the trailer. If anyone has any idea what the video would be let me know. The only thing that comes to my mind is Dog Of Man, but I know that's not right.
  22. Picked one up just now that has a high rating on the creep meter. It's on sale for $1.99 at the moment too.
  23. Depends where you're at. Neither is banned here in the states. I have Manhunt 2 somewhere around here, but not sure where. I also have some of the Postal games as well around here, but I don't have the slightest clue where all my PS2 games went, as I haven't really played my PS2 in forever.
  24. I'm a hardcore liberal Democrat. That will never change. I support transgender rights, and view anyone who doesn't as a fucking bigot. I'm also a gun owner. I have several handguns, and several rifles including an AR-15. I carry a .357 Magnum with me everywhere I go. I keep a handgun in every room of my house. If someone breaks into my house, I will kill them. It is my 100% intention to end their life, and I will not stop firing until I know they are dead. And I've gone on record with the local law with that statement. Also it is my legal right to use deadly force to protect my home, within my home. There is nothing in this house worth dying for. That all said, out internal structure needs a hell of a lot of reworking. So much of it is broken. Parts of the constitution need to be rewritten, many on the bill of rights. When it was written they put freedom of religion in the first amendment, but they didn't bother to clarify what they meant by that. Freedom of religion..... as long as your xtian. You can be catholic, baptist, methodist, lutheran, pentecostal, presbyterian, or any other form or protestant. Non-xtian religions are sometimes tolerated, but not protected by the constitution. If you think they are then tell me how many Jewish and Muslim presidents we have had. Tell me how good Muslims had it starting on September 12th. Tell me why so many Synagogues are constantly cleaning swastikas off their doors. And tell me why people have decided that as a Satanist, I supposedly sacrifice babies to their devil then eat their flesh? I will never under any circumstance support anything the republiKKKlans try to do, because it has never once benefited the public. Only the corporations that are backing the traitorous bastards. Look at the last two republiKKKlan presidents. Bush threw us into the worst recession since the great depression. And I don't even have to say anything about Adolf. They use their bigotry and stupidity to lead their actions, and no republiKKKlan is an exception. Load them all on a boat. Throw them overboard in the middle of the Pacific. Any that make it to shore get to live until the next morning when their next challenge begins. Maybe throw them in a pit with a bunch of hungry carnivores and a piece of speaker wire dangling in there for them to use as a rope to climb out. Survivors get to rest until the next morning. Spread it around the most dangerous prison in the world that they rape babies, and put them in genpop for at minimum 6 months. If they survive, they get a one day rest until their next challenge. I can keep going on, but I think you get the point. I'm not special. My animosity leads my views a lot too. But you know what? I'm not a politician, so it really isn't going to affect anyone unless they're someone I hate. I know there are several people here who can't stand me. I can't think of any names off the top of my head, but I know they're here. And I'm sure there will be even more after reading this post. But they can all kiss my lily white ass.
