It's more than worth the cost. I've been gaming for closing in on 40 years now, and I think it's the only thing that has really been a constant through my entire life. I play the same systems and games I played when I was a child, as well as the new stuff. There is something for literally everyone to enjoy in the video game world. Everyone can find something. Depending on your personal tastes, it can be expensive as hell, or pocket change. I can get on CL right now and buy 8 PS3 games for a grand total of $12. I'm not buying them because they're all sports games. Or I can get on there and buy a scalped PS5 for $500. But I'm going to wait a couple more years before I start thinking about a PS5. I've explained why in other posts. So I personally believe the benefits far outweigh the costs.

I turn all of the sound completely off for the vast majority of the games I play. The only one I can think of that I keep the sound on for is RDR2.

It varies from game to game. Some games it's needed, others it's not. Some games it would ruin to have the time of day change. Mainly older games. But games are going more open world and going for more realism today, so something being in eternal day or night would ruin the whole game.

I'm not a religious zealot or a 17 year old boy. So that's a no.

My PS3 games are all discs. So the shutdown didn't really bother me. I have a lot of games for PS3, many of which I have never even played. But right now my PS3 is in the closet, waiting for the next time I decide I want to use it. Typically, I only played PS1 games on it anyway. I think I downloaded ONE game. I bought the system new, not long after it came out. And in all that time, I think I downloaded ONE game. I would have to find the right PS3 (I have several) and hook it up to know. That's a pain in the ass that I don't feel like dealing with right now.

The only anime fight I ever saw involved a 10 year old girl and an octopus. At least I think she was supposed to be fighting it, even though it looked more like she was fucking it.

Americans have a natural entitlement. It partially comes from that "greatest country on earth" bullshit. The rest is either racial (white privilege) or personal entitlement (narcissism). Many of the wealthiest people on earth are American, and for some reason a majority of the population thinks that that gives them the right to be assholes and makes them better than everyone else. When they themselves are not in any way wealthy and like the majority are living paycheck to paycheck. The US needs to take cue from a lot of the rest of the world. Humility being number one. The bullshit of the people here is why I'm the most misanthropic bitch you could ever meet.

I wonder how many people have glued their nostrils shut from trying to get high off of it. That's a hospital visit I want to be in on. Hopefully I would be the first person on Reddit with the story.

I have hated Apple/Mac products for as long as I can remember. I despise the company. But in spite of all that I still use an iPhone. It's a lot more user friendly. I had an LG Phoenix for all of a month when I got a new phone a few years ago. It didn't allow you to customize anything. Not even the ringtone. It wouldn't download anything. The texts were all fucked up. I took it straight back and got an iPhone. They are at least user friendly and let you customize the shit out of them.

Stick with Sony. Knockoffs will fuck up worse than most can imagine, and you'll just be buying them over and over. I say just pick a color you like from what they have and get a new one. I got the glacier white controller. There was nothing wrong with the black one that came with the system, I just wanted the color. I went through GameStop and they got it to me in about 3 days. So I recommend doing that.

I have it on PS3. It's been so long since I played it that I don't remember much. But it is an awesome game, and definitely worth getting. It can be a bit of a mind job if you're an emotional person. It's more designed for people who are fairly to completely numb. So if you're easily emotional, don't say I didn't warn you.

I've been to almost every island in the Caribbean, and the cultures down there vary quite a bit. The last time I went, we went on an educational tour with a man who was from a tribe that was native to the island. I can't remember the island or the tribe name. During the introduction, he explained that when the Spaniards came over they were so brutal that the entire tribe started speaking Spanish out of fear, and that over the generations, their actual native language has been completely lost. No one alive today has any idea what it was. I personally wasn't sure what to think. I knew those that colonized the western world were brutal and murdered countless native peoples, but there are still those that speak their language. I know the Cherokee do. I have a little bit of Cherokee in me. Not much, and the blood has gotten extremely thin over the generations. But every time I go down there, I learn a little bit more about a culture that is different from my own. It's always interesting. If I ever make it to Europe, I will be going out of my way to learn as much as I can about the different cultures. Especially those of my heritage.

RDR2 does this shit on some of the stranger missions. If you enter into one of these stranger missions, and decide you don't want to screw with it, then try to ride away, you will get the fail screen (same as dead screen) and be forced back to it. You only have 2 options to get out of it. 1) Finish it. 2) Reload the game from your last save, before you started the stranger mission. But if you don't save regularly, you could lose hours of progress doing that.

I'm wondering if it would be worth it to buy a second copy and keep it factory sealed in case it goes up in value some day.

Well, RDR2 doesn't have a difficulty option, so it's more of a learning how to engage the fight. Your weapon of choice makes a massive difference in how it goes.

I would say that Zelda and Zelda II are leading contenders. The best box art was during the 8-bit era.

Unless putting skulls on all my shelves, and hanging random weaponry on the walls as a decoration counts, then no.

It all depends on the individual game. Personally I think RDR1 should be remastered, because for the type of game it is, it looks like shit. Whereas, some games like some of the Zelda entries were too realistic for the type of game (I'm looking at you Twilight Princess) and it took away from the story. The only reason I played it was for the graphics. I never really did anything other than play around in Ordon Village and Kakariko village. The dungeons were pure shit. But to get back on point, can you imagine Skyrim, or RDR2 with outdated graphics?
