I had to start a new RDR2 file due to my previous one getting corrupted. I'm currently in Chapter 2 at Horseshoe Overlook. My current objective is to collect the hides I need for the Legend Of The East satchel. But when I'm in camp, I don't know why, every last person there starts bitching at me about how I'm dressed. They keep telling me that I should dress warmer, that I'm going to catch my death, asking "ain't you freezing?" and other shit. I'M WEARING THE FUCKING DEFAULT OUTFIT What the hell is going on here? I just want them to shut up, but no one will. How the hell do you get that kind of shit with the DEFAULT settings? This has never happened before, on any of my play throughs. I could switch to my winter gear, but within 30 Arthur starts to get too hot. Do I need to strip naked and ask them if that's any fucking better? If it wasn't for the fact that I have to bring the hides to Pearson for the satchel, I would leave camp and never return. We'll see how god damn much they bitch then. Sure someone will ride out to find me, but I always have the option to tell them to piss off.

I have just begun to scratch the surface of Skyrim, and so far, it's a pretty good game. After seeing a lot of the posts here about different aspects of it, there are things I would have never in my wildest dreams thought would be in it. So it's a wild ride, from what I understand. But currently, I'm stuck to RDR2. I can't get off that damn game. It's my crack. Get your minds out of the gutter you pervs.

Beat-em-up's like Double Dragon paved the way for games like SF2, MK, and KI. TMNT directly led to the spinoff Battletoads. Doom led to Hexen. There are obviously others, but I haven't been awake long enough to be able to think that much.

Take-Two's CEO reckons we're "ready" for $70 video games
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
That's bullshit. Jacking up the price and saying people are "ready for it" is nothing more than a slap in the face and a fuck you. Do they think that those of us on disability and food stamps, who are barely able to get by and often have to decide which bill to NOT pay this month can afford them raising prices because I am "ready for it"? I am READY for the bastards to DROP the price. How about $50 instead? That was the price of a new NES or SNES game off the shelves at Walmart or any other retail store that sold video games. What the hell was wrong with that? Also, in case you bastards haven't noticed, Nintendo is still around 30+ years later and doing very well financially. So fuck you Take-Two. You just lost a potential future customer. -
I think that's the reason a lot of the old classic games are losing popularity these days. Take Zelda for example. People are getting bored with the sword wielding hero saving the princess from the big bad evil that is trying to take over the world. BOTW2 came out so damn quick that Nintendo were desperately trying to keep it relevant. And I can't think of a single game in that genre that exists on current gen systems in that fashion anyway. Sure you could say something like Skyrim, since it's a fantasy style game, but it's also wildly different despite being a fantasy game. People are bored with the same old story line. Boy saves girl from villain. Boy and girl live happily ever after. Anyone wanna play Candyland? Gamers are looking for something different as those old clichés are getting tiresome.

Do you ever look back and think "I was a dumbass"?

What were some of the things you found? I know the game pretty well and can probably point you to where at least a couple of them are. -

I found that the game plays better on the PS4 than the Xbox. I have it on both, and I just didn't like how it played on Xbox. The controls are more smooth and natural on PS4. But as far as the save files are concerned, it's a bit of a moot point now, as we said fuck it and deleted them to start over completely. I most likely won't be playing on her system anymore, unless I just want to play on the big TV (75"). I'll play in my office on the small 32" TV that I use as my computer monitor. -

Which would you recommend getting? Because I see all 3 on eBay, and I can get them for like $5. -

My girl made a screw up a couple days ago. She accidentally downloaded The new patch that fixes several glitches in RDR2. Like when you are in St Denis to get Jack back, you can take John (before or immediately after the graveyard) to safely ride around down past Blackwater into New Austin if you want to hunt every animal needed for the trapper. So she uninstalled the game. Apparently google said our games would still be saved on the hard drive, which they were. But the uninstall corrupted the files. So I lost like 60+ hours of gaming to get the best items, the best horses, the gold bars, all of it. I. Was. PISSED. If I hadn't done all that work, I wouldn't have cared, but I had 2 of the Arabians, almost all of the guns, including an extremely rare rolling block rifle, the legend of the east satchel, and almost all the camp upgrades. All that work for nothing. -

Prolonged alcohol use will destroy your liver. It's called cirrhosis. Marijuana doesn't have any long lasting effects to that scale. Also, marijuana is not a narcotic drug. People are able to pick it up, and drop it any time. It's not like alcohol, blow, angel dust, or crank. Also it has medicinal benefits that the others do not possess. True, doctors have said for many years that a glass of red wine a day is good for your heart. Now they're saying one alcoholic drink (whatever the beverage) a day is good for your heart. But alcohol doesn't help with pain. It doesn't help people on chemo eat after the treatments make them sick and lose their appetite. It doesn't help insomniacs sleep. I know from experience 2 out of those 3. In the past I had insomnia so bad I would go for up to two weeks only getting the occasional microsleep. 10-20 minutes here and there, until my body finally gave out, and I would sleep for 30+ hours straight, not waking up once. It cost me several jobs. I still have insomnia, but not to that severity. The pain from the MD and migraines is another one I know all too well. I have some extremely powerful prescriptions to manage it, but they don't get it all. I got a daith piercing and it helped with the migraines. It didn't lessen the severity, but it put a bullet in the frequency. So I consider that a win. The piercing won't work for everyone. For some it ends up just being a hole in your ear. For others it's a godsend. For those who don't know, this is a daith piercing.

Do you ever import games from other countries?

Yet we import all of our TV's from the Orient. Or at least the vast majority of them. Go figure. -

That sounds a lot like the politics of the US before the civil rights movement. But that was blacks and whites. They even had separate water fountains in public schools. The black students only got textbooks when they were all but destroyed and unusable. If this is what Deus Ex is tackling, it sounds like the writers are trying to show people that racial injustice is still maxed out to the extreme. Even in the most "civilized" parts of the world. I'm going to have to look into this game more, and possibly buy it and try it out. What systems is it available on? Does it have sequels? If so, what is the best one that displays such a world? -

I had no idea that Clive Barker had ever been involved in any games. I just knew that he wrote Hellraiser and directed the first movie. He had to release the rights to it to get to direct the movie, which I think was bullshit. But simply due to his imagination creating the Cenobites, he would definitely be a badass in the horror genre of games. I can see him getting a cult following in the least. The same goes for Stephen King. Had no idea. -
I remember Atari 2600 being the big bad beast of gaming. It was so much power and so graphically intricate that peoples minds were blown. Until the NES came out anyway.

The PocketStations I bought worked perfectly and as they should. Granted they're from different coding regions, but I had no issues. Canada and the US are all the same region, so it doesn't matter if you bought it in Texas or Nova Scotia, it'll work for both. -

First and foremost I would like to see Tim Burton get in on creating games. He would have full directive control, and it would be his vision and his baby. A second on that would probably be Clive Barker. But Tim is number one by far. While technically not a film maker, I wouldn't mind seeing some Stephen King games. Off the top of my head I can't think of any of his stories having been made into a video game. Inspiration for games, sure. Layers Of Fear: Legacy had to have gotten at least some inspiration from Rose Red. But to see something that is straight up King would be awesome. -
Teen/Adult Cartoon Shows that deserve a video game
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I have Beavis & Butthead on Sega and SNES. Family Guy Back To The Multiverse on PS3. South Park on N64. And I came across a copy of Simpsons Hit & Run on PS2 the other day that I didn't know I had. To me an American Dad game would fit in nicely. Play as Hayley and hunt down her dad's buddies at the CIA ending up with a final boss fight against Bullock and Stan. She wins and the republiKKKlan party is destroyed and disbanded, everyone is finally a loyal Democrat, and the world is saved. That's a game I would play the hell out of. -

@Reality vs Adventure is spot on with his arguments. You can't expect everything to be on the same table and one to not be disliked by the majority. What are people going to prefer most of the time: a piece of fruit, or a sardine? Now of course, that piece of fruit may be spoiled making the person eating it sick. That kind of thing happens constantly. It poisons the mind as well as the body. Just look at January 6th. Adolf poisoned those people and got them to commit a terrorist attack on the nations capitol building. We had a perfect mixture of Adolf Hitler, Jim Jones, and Charles Manson in tRump. His bigoted ideologies were what caused families to be detained and split up at the border, simply because they were Hispanic. Many of which simply lived near the border, with no intentions of crossing it. Others were simply tourists that were on their way home. Now compare that to the Civil Rights Movement. The tearing down of the Berlin Wall. The defeat of the Confederacy in the American Civil War. Which one was the better ideology? It plays as much of a role in games as it does in real life. RDR2 shows that. The terminology and attitudes shown in the game are spot on for 1899. At that time there were many that were virtually identical to the republiKKKlan party today. They refused to admit they lost the war then, they refuse to admit they lost the election today. And the racist terminology is as strongly coming out of their mouths now as it was then. Realistic games take from real life. Bully, GTA, RDR2, the list goes on. No ideology is perfect. There will be those that argue it from their own. There will be those who will support it from their own. Every ideology is both right and wrong. It's on the individual to see and understand the difference. Yet still there are some of us who simply don't care. "Keep yours to yourself, and fuck off." is all we really have to say. If yours gets you killed, you should have had a different one. If yours makes you a billionaire and all your dreams come true, then good for you but who the fuck cares? I personally have always said "Good for you or fuck you, whichever you prefer". It sums things up pretty well in my opinion. -

Disney movies/characters that deserve a video game
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I hate Disney, simply because Walt Disney was as antisemitic as Adolf Hitler. For that reason alone, I would love to see the corporation go bankrupt and disappear. I do have to admit that I own a couple Disney movies, but that's only for the fact that they had Johnny Depp and/or Tim Burton involved. If it wasn't for them, I would own nothing from Disney, nor would I even allow any of it in my house. I threw away all my Star Wars movies when they bought it. Especially after Return Of The Jedi was destroyed by taking Darth Vader out of the ending and adding that unacting bitch Hayden Christianson in his place. When they did that, I would only watch Jedi on a VHS. No DVD's allowed. But that's a moot point now.
