  1. Everyone at the bottom is replaceable. It's why games are going down in quality at such an alarming rate. everything is a sequel. There's no originality anymore. When developers were allowed to try something new, many games flopped because they weren't being given the time and money to actually develop the games. Not when there was the belief that they could make so much more money by releasing another one in a series that was doing so great. Another CoD, GoW, AC, GTA, and so on. We can't get anything original anymore. We as gamers are fucked. And the sad thing is, that for a large part, we brought it on ourselves. It's too dangerous and not profitable to take chances. We're never going to see another Marble Madness, Blackthorne, or Conker's Bad Fur Day. So settle in people because we're not going anywhere for a very very long time. Because nothing is new, and it's all sequels.
  2. Getting x-rays to figure out why I've been having some extreme pain deep in the bone, mainly on my shoulders. I haven't taken any injuries or fallen, so I'm at a loss as to why, and so is my doctor.
  3. I came across a game the other day that I didn't know I had. I just put it in a jewel case and set it aside because at the time I wasn't too interested in it. I checked out some screenshots just now and it looks like a kiddie game. It's Animorphs Shattered Reality. I didn't notice the "Animorphs" part when I picked it up. I don't know if it works or not. I know nothing about the game. I don't know if it's part of a franchise, or if it's just a one shot. Thoughts?
  4. We all know them. Over and over in multiple games we see them. From genre to genre, system to system, game to game. Something that was old when it was new. What is the most cliché enemy that you encounter in gaming? To me it's hands down skeletons, with zombies in a solid second place. I don't even want to try to count the amount of games I've encountered both or either of these in. But can't game developers think of something original? A small tweak on it doesn't count. It's still a skeleton. It's still a zombie.
  5. FF8 remaster was amazing. The colors were crystal clear, and the people and monsters are as life like as I have ever seen in a video game. Almost as good as the cut scenes in the game. they're not pixelated anymore, but realistic. It was done beautifully.
  6. Navigating my way through AC3, and playing Links Awakening and FF8 back and forth. But at the moment, I have Castlevania SOTN up.
  7. I thought the whole thing was scrapped months ago?
  8. I have a few entries here. One was in Blaster Master on NES. The writers of the game decided to be sneaky as hell with the entrance to level locations. The entrances to levels 2 and 3 are simple enough. You find the entrance to level 2 in level 1, and the entrance to level 3 in level 2. Stands to reason you would think the entrance to level 4 would be somewhere in level 3. Nope. It's hidden way back deep in level 1. It's in an area that's inaccessible until after you beat the level 3 boss. And unless you're lucky, you would never have noticed anything in the entire area but empty sky. Finding that was pure dumb luck. Another was in Legacy Of The Wizard. Your objective is to collect 4 crowns to awaken a dragon so you can kill it. I remember finding the first crown 30 years ago. I was over the moon. Now 30 years later, I HAVE STILL ONLY FOUND THAT ONE SINGLE FUCKING CROWN! UGH! Obtaining every mask in Zelda: Majoras Mask was a real achievement. Some were easy enough, and others were a true bitch to get. But in the end you can trade them all for the Fierce Deity mask and beat Majora easy as pie.
  9. I know they have used different actors in every Batman movie except for the first 2 that had Michael Keaton. But I never knew that the character was different.
  10. There's more than one Batman?
  11. What the hell was wrong with the original look in the 1989 movie? Why do they have to keep changing it?
  12. Screw NPC's. If I can't kill them myself, then I tend to ignore them. Or if I'm bored, I push them into a situation that is going to get them killed. The only time I bother to offer even the slightest bit of protection to an NPC is if it's a required part of a mission. If it doesn't matter after that, then I go back and kill them for being a pain in the ass.
  13. I’m glad I have a bottle of whiskey handy.
  14. I always used a TV. I just felt that they had better graphics capabilities, were faster, and were just in general better hardware than a PC monitor.
  15. Boredom with the quest. If it’s something that just drags on and on with no real action in it, that’s when I decide it’s not worth bothering with. From then on, I never bother with doing that quest again unless it eventually nets me an extremely valuable item.
  16. Hatred, Manhunt 2, and Postal 2 take the prize for me. The ability to go in and destroy anything and anyone is like blow for me. Hell a ki of blow isn’t as addictive. If you want something a little more mainstream, it would have to be the original Zelda on NES. I get started playing it, and the fucking controller glues itself to my hand.
  17. Dusk. The last rays of light dying out before the darkness takes over the world. The last shred of hope in the world ends with the light.
  18. There’s 2 for me. One is MDK. It’s a Win95 game. It’s kinda futuristic and for the time had amazing graphics. The other one is one that was on extremely primitive computers that I had on an old 286. It’s called ZZT. It’s a pixelated game, and your character is a small rectangle with a little smile on it. You have to find colored keys to advance to later areas and find power ups. I suck at describing things, but the game is a lot more fun than I can describe. I wish I could find a download of it somewhere.
  19. The last time that happened was probably 20 years ago during the PS2 era. There was a game (I don’t remember what) that I thought looked awesome, and I bought it even though I couldn’t afford the system at the time.
  20. As long as I was NOT enjoying myself and it kept me quiet and out of sight, then yes I could play games. If I started to enjoy myself, made any noise, or they saw me, I got beat with whatever was handy. So eventually I got to a point where I play games on mute, and show no emotion when I'm playing. That has stuck with me my entire life. 30 years. I can't play games with the sound on, regardless of what the game is due to the beatings I got when the game was audible.
  21. That thing is absolutely hideous. Under no circumstance will it ever enter my house. I think I'm gonna throw up.
  22. I have one of them somewhere around here. If I remember right it's Arkham Asylum. I've never even played it once, mainly because I never remember that I have it and also because I'm not much into superhero games. The only reason I can think of that I have it is because it had to be in a bundle that I bought at some point. I do enjoy Batman on NES, but other than that one, those type of games just never held any appeal for me. I've tried several from both Marvel and DC. They just bore me to death.
  23. If you’re going strictly for portability, I think the Lite is the better choice. But if you need the ability to go back and forth between portable and and TV console, then you need to get the normal Switch. I have the Switch Lite, and I love it.
  24. I play Hatred. Blood, senseless murder, and gore. Men, women, and children are all on the chopping block to be brutally slayed as sadistically as I want. And if a game doesn't cut it, I get on the dark web and watch snuff films.
  25. I was sitting here watching YouTube videos and got to thinking. We've all hard the urban legends about video games. Things like Ben Drowned, Polybius, Lavender Town, etc. But it got me curious to danger in games. I'm not looking for things like gaming for 51 hours straight. I'm looking for games that are actually dangerous to even play. Not games that affect a medical disorder like flashing lights and colors then having an epileptic seizure. Games that are just downright dangerous to even load. This may be an unanswerable question, or there might be some that are hazardous. I personally can't think of any off the top of my head, but thought that maybe someone else knows of something that could be what I'm looking for. I've heard that one of the games I play (Taboo The Sixth Sense) is supposed to be dangerous, but I've had no negative repercussions from playing it.
