Unnecessary and dumb as eff. But again, it's unnecessary so that's why people love it. That's what makes it cute and I like that.

AGain, EA is the best with indie developers. DOesn't mean I like them but I have plenty more reasons to dislike them. Their treatment of indie developers is definitely not one of them.
