Honestly, it depends on the game - Dark souls/Elden Ring/Bloodborne games tend to frustrate the hell out of you but games like No Man's Sky tend to a bit more laid-back and relaxing in nature as you go exploring.

Were you ever present for the end/shutdown of an online game?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
To be honest, I've never been present to the shutting down of an online game - usually when I know a game I like is shutting down its servers, I normally take the time to find another game to play. -
Favorite channels and videos for gaming humor?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Some of my favorite channels for gaming humor: 1) The Laughing Simon does Skyrim VR videos as a skeleton and honestly, he makes me crack up from start to finish. 2) Elanip from GTA V Redline RP - he always comes up with some pretty wacky ideas and you can't help but laugh. 3) You already mentioned Viva La Dirt but I also love their content. -
So...before anyone asks when did Babylon's Fall come out, it was released on February 28 of this year. I didn't even remember this game existed until I learnt that they had shut it down recently. I think it was in some Ubisoft showcase last year? (The name vaguely rings a bell) But what we have here is ANOTHER live service game by Square Enix that has failed miserably. It failed so badly that physical copies are being destroyed or given away by Gamestop. Square Enix seems to have learned nothing from Marvel's Avengers and keep putting out this third-rate trash. For anyone that was looking forward to this game, how did you feel about it shutting down just seven months after release?

An outcome that surprised no one else but Ubisoft execs, Ubisoft's Quartz NFTs failed miserably to the point they're trying to play it off as something they did "only for research". A "it's just a prank bro" tactic if we want to be a bit more accurate. Is there anyone at all that's surprised that this failed miserably?

Now for a bit of context, this was a short while after a merger was announced between Unity and Ironsource. Ironsource who were in the business of monetization of ads among other stuff of that nature. This would result in monetization services being integrated into the Unity Engine so you knew there was an uproar when it was announced. In response to this, John Riccitiello former EA CEO made the statement above. Because of the backlash he received for this, he was forced to turn around and apologize for his statement. Of course, nobody is buying because he's a former EA CEO, this is expected behavior. Another thing to add, when I first read about the whole Unity and Ironsource merger and was reading through his response, before I even knew who he was, my first reaction was "are you sure this guy didn't work for EA?" and I was right on the mark. It amazes me how much lack of awareness these CEOs in the gaming industry have. What are your thoughts on this?

I agree that his talents could be better utilized and if I'm not mistaken, I did read another article that claimed he belonged to a group of small-time hackers who did hacking for the thrills. He was apparently ratted out by rival hackers for whatever reason.

It's not shocking at all - they still haven't got backwards compatibility to work with a good number of PS4 titles and let's not get started on PS3 titles despite the emulator having the capacity to emulate all the way back to original PS games. I think we even discussed this before the PS5 ever came out. I know they did this on purpose just to get PSVR owners to upgrade.

Now Assassin’s Creed players are planning a huge online funeral
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
Who knows? We haven't heard anything since the original story so I assume a few people attended it...Pretty bizarre decision in itself but because Ubisoft is the one doing this, I don't know why anyone expected better. -
So just as an update, it seems the individual behind the hacks is a 17 year old that was involved in a bunch of other major hacks this year - one of them being Uber. I'm puzzled why they let him go with a slap on the wrist after hacking Uber. Not likely to happen - They're investing way too much money and time into GTA 6 to scrap it over a leak that shows off a build of the game that's nearly 2 years old. It's not as if the video showed off anything recent either.

Luckily for me, I have 2fa enabled on almost any online platform that has the feature so it'd be difficult to access my accounts. Secondly, when I get messages from companies, what I do is I either check that website directly rather than use the link or I may copy the link and scan it on virustotal.com to check if the URL is genuine. You have to pay close attention to any form of emails/messages you get online and don't just go clicking on random URLs.

As much as we'd love that, Konami is no longer in making videogames for us. They're far too busy making the next Castlevania Pachinko machine to be installed in some casino in Japan than put a capable team together and release quality games. As for leaks, I never usually take them seriously unless it comes from someone extremely reliable.

Did you ever tally your win-loss record against people?
killamch89 replied to Kane99's topic in Esports & Competitive Gaming
I just saw your name and suffered PTSD 🤣🤣🤣. So many Final Fantasy games...Just to see some little green guy with a butcher knife walk up and shank you and boom - it's over! -
Do you get annoyed when people play loud music while driving?
killamch89 replied to ZandraJoi's topic in Music
True - revving bike engines does unnecessarily does tend to get on my nerves because for the most part, most of them sound pretty similar. Now if they revving of a car engine like and EVO x with turbo - now that I can listen to all day. -
To be honest, I'm glad that Konami hasn't decided to ruin the Silent Hill series by making a game themselves. We should take this as a good thing - I mean, have you seen or heard about Metal Gear Survive? Yeah, I thought as much... Unless someone else is making it, I don't want Konami ruining what bit of nostalgia I have left for the IPs they have in their possession like Silent Hill, Castlevania and Metal Gear. @Withywarlock makes a great point that these "leaks" have been nothing short of a witch hunt. We still haven't gotten anything concrete to say that another Silent Hill game was coming. It was all fan enthusiasm and some other gaming companies exploited it like - I forgot the name of the company but we were discussing this up to a year or so ago.

Do you pay attention to the music in movies & TV shows?
killamch89 replied to ZandraJoi's topic in Music
Most times, I'm too caught up in what I'm watching to pay attention to music in movies or tv shows unless it's a really catchy tune or it was playing during an iconic scene in the movie. -
Songs that quickly make you change the channel
killamch89 replied to melanie_marie27's topic in Music
Most modern day hip hop/rap songs/pop/rock Country Almost everything from 2010 onwards with the exception of a few songs. -
Gamefaqs is one of the older sites that would have lots of cheats for older games so that's a nice place to look. I remember using it for a couple of the Megaman Network games on the GBA after I had completed them.

What makes a video game location feel “real”?
killamch89 replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
If mimicking real locations in the world - landmarks and the overall layout of the city. Also, small stuff like some infamous graffiti on a small street and the mannerisms of the NPCs could provide that immersive feeling. Graphics also play a huge factor obviously. -
Can anyone help me find a mobile game from like 2013?
killamch89 replied to StalkyBoi's topic in Gaming Forum
I'm not sure if we could find it as the only thing I found was Police Chase Thief Car game and you don't remember the developer name or anything substantial that we could use... -
Do you think money can buy you quality team that can win you everything?
killamch89 replied to Justin11's topic in Sports
Juventus are horrible and have been quite horrible for some time - Benfica easily outplayed them at their own stadium. Benfica, while being a good team would easily be decimated by the likes of this season's Barca, Man City, Bayern...Juventus might very well drop out of Europe.
