This sounds interesting but I wonder if it'll come out with the current gen consoles or when a successor is launched.

This was in the Darwin Awards 20 something years ago, but there was a guy who cooked some beans for dinner one night. After he ate he went to bed, but his bedroom had no ventilation. As he slept he kept farting all night. Eventually the methane in his farts suffocated and killed him. That's one of the weirdest I've heard. And also one of the funniest.

The army won’t mention that IRL there is no campaign mode and when you get your ass killed, it’s not like you just start the level again. I mean COME ON. they are not all young and old people

Since I already don't like to pay more than $45 for new games, a remake is worth $20 at most for me. And remasters should be a free upgrade to those who already own the original.

I used to buy Tips & Tricks every month. It had a section of all kinds of codes and cheats for games from every system at the time. NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear, and others. It also had a lot of really great articles.

Well, it doesn't state what are the in-game purchase items but that's still shocking. To be fair, they also wanted to include microtransactions in RE 7 but decided against it so we really shouldn't be all that shocked...

The thing I loved about this game is the nemesis system - it's honestly underrated. There are other aspects of the game that aren't that great but the nemesis system is so unique. I'd love to see that implemented in more games - it means that even if a weak character defeats you, they become a boss you have to face in order to regain your items. It creates sub-plots in a somewhat straightforward story.

Talion may spend the game hunting the sociopathic servants of Sauron, but the player cannot immerse himself among so many orcs, uruks and trolls without appreciating everything about them: their aesthetic, their manner, and, yes, even their anti-social personalities.

You can call this honor if you want, but for the few people that I actually do care about, there is nothing I won't do to protect them. If I have to kill to ensure their safety, I will kill. I will go to prison with my head held high. If I have to die to protect them, then I'll die. I only ask my ashes be spread in some place that is special to me.
With @Rain Dew if she is in trouble that could result in prison time, I will step in and claim responsibility so that she doesn't go to prison.
If you think I'm insane for this, that's fine by me. If you think I'm honorable, that's fine too. I don't seek honor, nor do I reject it. I don't consider myself any kind of warrior, but there is no limit to what I will do to protect the very few that I care about.

I was disappointed with Gran Turismo 7 and as a massive Gran Turismo fan since the original game, I couldn't believe how badly Sony screwed it up.

The very first family computer we had was in 1995. Was pretty mind-blowing at the time, but it only had a 100MHz processor, and it wasn't even connected to the internet!
However, the first computer I owned was a Toshiba laptop that I got in 2009. I actually acquired it through a university grant... wasn't the best computer (and it was particularly lacking in hard drive space, with only 65GB), but other than that, it did the job 🙂 .

    Source: https://www.talkesport.com/news/gaming/miniclip-has-officially-shut-down-its-servers-except-for-8-ball-pool-and-agario/
I thought at first Miniclip as a whole was basically going away barring 8 Ball Pool and Agario, but it turns out they've shut down the servers for their web-based games and are shifting focus entirely to their mobile gaming ventures, which have been successful for them as the death of Flash gradually killed off what I expect a lot of people grew up with.
Did anyone here ever use Miniclip at any point? If so, what memories or stories do you have to tell from it?

I adored this place back when Flash games were all the rage. My school would even unblock the website on Sponsor Day for us to play games on there if that was one of the activities we chose to do for that day, and it was always one of the most popular choices for that day. I'm trying to find a list of all the games they had that were exclusive to them so I can see what ones I played a lot of, but haven't had any luck yet.
I hope the games they had were at least preserved by one of those Flash game preservation groups that are out there. I understand that hosting all that stuff is costing more money than it brings in but it would at least be nice to have the ability to play some of the games offline.

Unless they make a mouse/keyboard setup of the games, releasing them on console is not a good idea. It will flop I guarantee, simply due to gamers not being able to to control the game the way they think they would. Personally, I'm sticking to a 20 year old computer for AOE.

I actually desperately want to say you're both wrong , but unfortunately I have to agree. The key to a strategy game, what literally makes a strategy game, is that it should take literally no skill to play. It may be cool that you can juggle chess pieces, but it won't make you better at chess. What true strategy game needs is an interface that's there to allow the player to oversee and situation with a vast verity of control options right there to implement thier idea's in a timely enough manner to execute them, it's no about skill and timing from a smaller scale perspective like what gamepads have been developed to do well. On console, the interface just isn't designed for this sort of thing, not like on PC whare the interface itself was designed to be a utility to begin with. Games like AoE were made to get the best out of that utility style interface, and why not? Console gamers have every right to enjoy these kinds of games if the want to, so I'm long way from objecting to them being made available to console gamers, but that doesn't change the fact that this is not a straightforward thing to port over and I highly doubt that even with the best effort the Xbox version will not be as easy to play as the PC version.

Congrats on the game. I wouldn't say it's my type of game, but it's something I can see my mom getting into. She usually plays cooking games, but I can see her getting into this too.

I can't say I've actually heard of this person to begin with, but it sucks that they are stopping their coverage on video games. Is it because people weren't tuning into his gaming content and so he decided to just scrap it? I figure it being financially viable was the key thing. If it wasn't providing any value, I can understand dropping it.

It really is a fun game and if you liked Smash Bros in the past this is a great game. I remember when I played some characters were locked and I can't remember why, may have been due to the battle pass or due to needing to play through the game and they would open up the more I played. I really do need to jump back on Multiverses but there are so many games and just not enough time. I will get back on it at some point. Will be interesting to see how it is now after a few months of release.

Kratos - God of War 2018
I can't speak about Kratos as a character in any of the other God of War games since I've never played them, but going into God of War 2018 as my first experience with the franchise in any capacity I love how Kratos develops throughout this game. Even without having any major knowledge of the previous games, the game makes it clear that he feels out of his depth when it comes to raising Atreus and trying to express his feelings properly, and seeing Kratos get explored with layers and depth beyond "murder fucking everything!" was really cool to watch unfold and it might be one of my favourite character developments that happens in a single game.

    Nathan Drake - Uncharted (Series)
The initial Uncharted games don't go too heavy on character development, mostly because of how they're made to be standalone stories that don't require playing the previous one to understand the characters and what's going on. Despite that, the series does try to push some heavy character exploration of Drake throughout Uncharted 3, where we get to see how destructive his obsession is with treasure, as it's put a strain on his marriage with Elena to the point they're practically separated between the second and third games, and everyone around him constantly questions what his deal is. By the end of the game he comes around on trying to prove himself and opts to give up treasure hunting entirely to settle down with Elena and live a normal life. Uncharted 4 however shows his unhappiness with such a life though, and the game goes harder on character development than anything until this point as we learn about Drake's backstory and his brother, among other things. It basically takes what Uncharted 3 started to do and goes all in to wrap everything up and give all of the characters a send-off that I think couldn't be done any better and gives us a true insight into a cast that we'd been hunting treasure with for almost a decade.

So, what about the rest of you? What game characters do you think had good development? 🙂

Very possible it could happen since both Bethesda and Obsidian are under the same roof and owned by Xbox. So that dream may come true sooner than you'd think.
They would do awesome making games based on popular IPs, but I don't think they ever would. They tend to focus on their own, fresh and unique IPs. L.A. Noire was probably their last game that wasn't really developed by them anyway. Nowdays they kinda keep things in house.
