Kane99 Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Do you like to keep a journal or diary discussing all the games you like to play? Along with your feelings on them and your views? I have never done this myself, but I bet there are people who actually do. Would you keep a journal of all the games you beat, and their reviews, ratings and other such things too? Reality vs Adventure 1
Reality vs Adventure Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 That sounds like a cool thing to do. It would be great to look back on what you wrote and recall how you felt that first time playing it. When i've had a good gaming session I think about it afterwards and I actually think it's a great idea to write it down.

I should have started when I was a kid. It would have been fun to re-read my tastes as a kid and teen. Maybe I will get my future kids to do that. Could be fun to see their thoughts on some of the classics.
Head_Hunter Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Yeah, that's through a wish-list, and it occurs mostly when I have some games on my mind. I simply have a journal or diary for it, in order to look back at it and invest into games base on what I have there.
The Blackangel Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 I'm trying to write a couple reviews of some games, but I don't know if that counts. I'm also uploading videos to my YouTube channel, but they're not available to the public yet. I'm sure that one doesn't count, though.

I can see how writing a review may be a kind of journal because you have to recall what you felt and observed. A journal can even help to write a review for later. I wish I kept a journal over the 2 year period playing AC Odyssey, and I'm still playing it. Because I know if I try to put in context what I felt back then, it probably won't be as emotional and descriptive today. But, it would always be fun to write about my favorite games anytime.

You're technically journalling about the game when doing that anyway. I'd consider a review good for a journal. Why aren't they public? Just waiting for the time when you're ready to release them to the masses?
Head_Hunter Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 I believe in the last 10-12 years which I started gaming full-time, I've played over 500 games overall. Their is no way you can expect me to remember them all. I only keep to the names of the memorable ones.

m76 Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 (edited) Well if you count writing reviews on them then yes, I kept a journal about most games I Finished since about 2008. And sometimes I do use it as a journal reading back some of my old thoughts. Edited December 23, 2021 by m76

I am not a fan of my own voice. 3 hours ago, m76 said: Well if you count writing reviews on them then yes, I kept a journal about most games I Finished since about 2008. Justin11 Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 At times I go retrospective to check the games I've played in the last 10 years. And it makes me think retrospective like going back to play it.
Boblee Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 I do all my gaming discussions on gaming forums like here and some other platforms that I take part in. I don't have time to write anything down.
Scorpion Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I’ve thought about journaling my gaming experiences! It’d be fun to track my thoughts and reviews on games I play.
