Games with the most nuanced factions?

Fallout New Vegas handled this about as well as any game I've played. A pure role play in that game does show you something about yourself. Some of the factions are a little more obviously evil, but most of them are not yin nor yang and have you can understand thier motivations whether you agree with them or not.

I have to agree with @Shagger on this one, Fallout games in general handle this pretty well. For instance, most may look at the Brotherhood Of Steel as "Evil" but are they really? Yes, their means of going about things is very authoritarian but their motive is actual a pretty noble one.

Age of empires 3 has much more civilization diversity then Age of Emipires 2. Each civ is different then the others all play differently with strengths and weakness throughout the game.

I think games like Skyrim and Fallout have done factions/groups quite well. When I played Skyrim for example, I remember joining some factions, but forget what. I wanted to be a vampire at one point, but stopped playing the game after a while.

Anyway, I'd say those two games, but I'm sure there are a bunch of other games I am forgetting about.

Skyrim made me felt that way. You are likely to have mixed emotions playing the game as you would want to be this or that depending on the level that you have reached.

I remember they had a those kind of factions in the witcher 3 though Geralt of Rivia was a monster Slayer there are places where he had greater resistance defeating monsters because of rivalry from residents.

Check out "Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines" and "Fallout: New Vegas." Both feature complex factions with morally ambiguous motivations and consequences.

Fallout: New Vegas is a very good call. Which faction was your favorite? Personally, the Brotherhood of Steel was mine.
