Games with single/multiplayer modes you prefer as multiplayer?

What are some games that come both with single player modes and co-op or multiplayer modes, where you prefer the latter?

I’ve been doing some No Man’s Sky with a friend for the first time, and I feel like I prefer the game like that to single player so far.

I like to have fun more then being pooped and crap at. How can you enjoy a game when you spawn and die as soon as you spawn in MP games - NOPE - that's not how I like games to be.

Phasmophobia is the first that comes to mind for me. You can play it alone, but to me the only way to play that game is with at least one other person because it adds more variety and life to the game. For example, you're less likely to mess with cursed objects in single player because of the risk of dying, and the game ends if all players are dead so you're just going to coin flip if your game will end. At least with others present there's more freedom to have fun with them provided they're still alive.

I have played dozens of video games during my childhood but nothing is coming as of now. Few video games like contra, Tank I used to play with single player. If cousin comes, I prefer multiplayer.

Left 4 dead 1 and 2 come to mind, mainly because both games are meant to be played with people. You can play alone and with bots as your partners, but I would rather not, since it's no fun to play with the bots. It's not enjoyable to play with the bots, even though they will heal you first over the computer players, but it's not nearly as fun as jumping into a game with the buds.

I'd say the classic Goldeneye 007 for N64 - I mean you can play it by yourself but multiplayer is where the real fun begins.

I stick with the single player experience, usually faster and I don't have to deal with lag or trolls.

FIFA 22 is enjoyable alone but nothing beats the fun you get playing it with someone.

I think I enjoy FIFA more with the multiplayer mode.

I'd also add call of duty games. I usually focus mostly on the multiplayer. I do play the single player, but once done I rarely go back. But there have been times where I'll play cod multiplayer for 2 years or more at depending on the game. I did so for Cod 4 back in the day. Got over 100,000 kills. Fun times.

I normally like multiplayer games similar to No Man's Sky, but in other games like Call of Duty I would do single-player and then branch out into multiplayer later.

COD multiplayer is somewhat addictive and the thrill of shooting down another player sitting in the same room with you is epic (if you are playing on mobile).

I prefer single player, everything can be enjoyable when i do the solo.

Games like Borderlands and Destiny 2 shine in multiplayer. Playing with friends adds excitement and teamwork, making the experience unforgettable!
