skyfire Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I am referring to the internal storage. Currently I have like 512GB of the internal storage through SSD. And I wish to change that with the additional 1TB of the storage. What about you? How much storage do you have?
Crazycrab Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 (edited) I've got 3 drives. The first is an intentionally small 256GB SATA SSD that I use for my OS and core applications only. This is something that I feel anyone building a PC should do because this way if anything goes badly wrong and you have to reinstall your OS all your games, documents, pictures, music, videos and whatever else stored on the other drives(s) are unaffected. The second is a 1TB NVMe SSD that I use for most of my bigger and/or more recent games that benefit the most from the faster loads times and such. The third is a standard 2TB Hard Drive that I use for pretty much everything else, older games, media, downloads and so on. Edited September 20, 2020 by Crazycrab skyfire 1
AndreiMirfi Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Got 2 drives. The first one is for OS only. Has a capacity of 111 GB. SPCC Solid State Disk. Second one is for programs, photos, videos etc. Capacity of 931 GB. ST1000DM010-2EP102
Shagger Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 (edited) This laptop I have came with an 512GB NVMe SSD that I use as a boot and OS drive in the way that @Crazycrab described, but that was actually all the computer had, so I added a a 2TB SSD for game files and other content. Kane99 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I have a 500GB SSD Drive and a 1TB HDD currently in my PC. I am considering getting another SSD drive so I can have extra storage. I don't want to go with HDD, because they die out a lot easier than SSDs do.
skyfire Posted September 21, 2020 Author Posted September 21, 2020 Today I got 1TB HDD added to the laptop. I just can't think of the smaller SSD for the everything so thought I should be upgrading and today took the chance to do just that.
ARx182 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 I have a SSD and a HDD. My SSD has a capacity of 222 GB, with 59.5 GB still free. My HDD has a capacity of 465 GB, with 332 GB still free. I have a while before I have to think of buying more storage.
skyfire Posted October 3, 2020 Author Posted October 3, 2020 I think if you are actively gaming then 59 GB would eventually finish and you need better and more sized hard disk or SSD.
ARx182 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Just now, skyfire said: I think if you are actively gaming then 59 GB would eventually finish and you need better and more sized hard disk or SSD. I have almost 400 GB spare storage so it is definitely not a problem for me yet. I also have quite a few games installed (such as GTA V, Fortnite, FIFA 21, Rocket League and 5-10 more games) and it hasn't been a problem.
skyfire Posted October 4, 2020 Author Posted October 4, 2020 I think new assasins creed and few other new games may increase the size of the game on the disk size.
killamch89 Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 (edited) My current gaming laptop has 2TB M.2 Storage and is more than sufficient for most modern titles barring Call Of Duty which takes up a whooping 200+ GB of storage. Edited October 17, 2020 by killamch89
skyfire Posted October 22, 2020 Author Posted October 22, 2020 I am thinking about 2TB or higher after say 1 year for sure. Because you never know when the space runs out.
Empire Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 I have 4 drives in my system 🙂 -500GB SSD for operating system -1TB SSD for my flight sims -1TB HDD for backup and storage for files, like videos and images and whatnot -2TB HDD for games My board as M.2 support also, so more coming killamch89 1
skyfire Posted November 14, 2020 Author Posted November 14, 2020 That is a lot of storage. I would get pretty much confused with the same. So storage like yours is something I can aim for in near future.
veron12 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 At the moment I have a 1TB hard drive in my PC.
