least fave weapon?
Lamarr the strelok reacted to Shagger for a topic
Before I address the topic I need to ask, is there particular reason you posted this to the PC sub-forum? On the face of it this looks like a topic with relevance to players on any platform, not just PC. If there is no good reason for this being here I will move this to the General Gaming Forum as that seems like a better fit. On topic, I've never been a fan of short/mid range rapid fire weapons like SMG's. I'm never accurate with them and they bleed ammo. I'm more a fan of single shot power and accuracy over a high fire rate. If I wanted a short range hip fire weapon, I'd have a shotgun instead. The one gun of that type that I have liked is the Spray n' Pray from Fallout 4 mostly because you don't need to be accurate with it and it's OP as hell.1 point -

For those who didn't get to follow up on the PlayStation State of Play. Have fun! It was an interesting one. 15 games were shown but unfortunately there was nothing about upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but from update, it's going to be having it's own reveal show on February 6th, 2024.1 point -
Could we see more popular 80s & 90s media made into games?
Heatman reacted to Reality vs Adventure for a topic
You are 100% correct and insightful about other classic medium made into a game. It’s hard to pinpoint where they are wired differently. I think they are trying to please the masses so much that they forget about the foundations of simple fun. Just total…fuckin…simple….fun…1 point -

This is absolutely how I call it and I can sure as hell tell you that they wouldn't care so much about any of those 80's or 90's shows, movies, or even books if they're made into a video game. I would say that they are wired differently from us.1 point -

So State of Play is tonight, I believe. Rumours indicate that Until Dawn is returning, but the Silent Hill series ought to be shown too. Konami really hasn't been putting out a great deal of anything of note on the games, despite the remake of 2 and other projects being announced in the fall a few years back. But they decided to slag off that 'Ascension' garbage recently with an amusing, "It's trauma" merchandise line. So even Konami knows it totally sucks balls. And that's certainly saying something. Maybe be careful as to who gets to use your IP the next time, huh?1 point -
Questions And Explanations

Linux Distros short for Distributions are just different versions of Linux created by other people. Since Linux is an open-source operating system, anyone can make their own version of it and call it whatever they want. Ubuntu for example is a Linux distribution. It uses the same code, but expands upon it to make it their own. Ubuntu has other versions like Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Xubuntu and a few more. Kubuntu is like Ubuntu but uses a different file system I believe. Xubuntu I think is supposed to be a low resource OS that can run on older hardware and Edubuntu is more geared towards education purposes. There are a ton of different ones out there, Wikipedia has a good list of them, even puts them in their own categories - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Linux_distributions1 point -
Does PC gaming reduce battery performance?
killamch89 reacted to Shagger for a topic
Batteries don't last forever. They loose thier ability to retain a charge after being charged and depleted so many times. So whilst its true gaming increases the power output of (what I assume is) a laptop making a battery deplete faster, that's not actually the problem.1 point -
I don’t think this will ever happen. The company is making a lot of profit and the brand is mainly known for GTA so I think they’ll focus on different versions and remakes for the time. But, who knows?1 point

Questions And Explanations

First off, great thread. This could indeed be very helpful. Second, peripherals are simply external devices one attaches and/or connects to a PC (or even a console) to enable specific functions. A keyboard or a mouse are peripherals, a controller is a peripheral. A display, like a TV, monitor or whatever is a peripheral. The remote for your TV or cable box is a peripheral. When it comes to building PC's, some more specific advice is required. I'd do what I can for people, but to go though everything I know it would be inconveniently long for all off us. So, I'll offer instead a Q/A style thing on this thread. And not just me, I'm sure others will try thier best to help.. Ask, and I'm sure the community will do our best to answer. The only stupid question is one that's never asked.1 point
