All the freaking time. OK, maybe not all the time, but more often than most people. And I'm not ashamed for it, to me this is a testament to well written characters. If my subconscious can't tell that they are fictional.
The first time I remember this happening was with Mona Sax, from Max Payne 2.

I know she was also in the first game, but wasn't as developed as a character there.
Then there was Anna Grimsdottir from the Splinter Cell series.

I know, minor character, but still something about the way she was teasing Sam. I didn't like her makeover in Conviction though.
Next Madison Paige from Heavy Rain

This one is a weird one. Because I was actually dating a girl at the time who had the same interests as Madison (motorcycles and photography), and even looked a bit like her.
And, then there was Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect 2 / 3

I know she is not the most popular LI In the series, but to me her romance story was the most fulfilling in the game. And her character goes through the most development over the series, the rest doesn't really change.
And finally after a long hiatus it happened again, with Abby from The Last of Us 2

That's why the end of the game literally crushed me.

100k? I'd take the money and run, there is no way to make decent game for that. At least not a complex game.

The best reward is a well written story. I don't need carrots to finish games. All I wish for is that the game properly acknowledges your deeds with a proper epilogue. Very few games get this right. Most end abruptly without any closure.
As for optional quest rewards, the best motivator is a  cool looking outfit. And that is why the popular opinion "cosmetic only microtransactions are fine" is bullshit. Getting better and more cool looking armor pieces is  a core mechanic of every adventure game. Taking that aspect away makes the game worse. And I'll never pay for any in-game item with real money ever. And even if I did, buying something vs getting it as a reward for a quest is not the same.

What do you mean normal game? Cheating in a coop game? All pvp games are inherently competitive, just because there is no prize money it's still a competition. And getting caught red handed in it, no matter the event should be a ban. And not even from that single game they were caught cheating in, but all games, ever released, and to be released. Harsh? Yes. But F. cheaters.

I'd say that Outlast is more bloody and gory and some of the imagery (ambience and monsters) is absolutely terrifying like something out of a horror film - I highly recommend getting both games.. As for Alien isolation, the best tactic is to use things like flashbang and noisemakers and throw it where the npcs are and use them as a distraction. The thing that makes Alien Isolation is that the Alien learns how you play and adapts accordingly so if you like to hide in lockers, it'll start to search every locker in the area and if stay in one spot too long it'll eventually find you.

Funny enough that was the exact game we played with my co-workers. One day we stayed late and just played through the night. It was 2008 or 2009 I think. My current co-workers are not big gamers unfortunately. But then again, there aren'T many new games that would be fun to play with friends, most don't even have lan multiplayer.

Welcome. Only two types of people on official game forums. Those who have a beef with the game and want to complain, and those who religiously love it and don't tolerate any kind of criticism. So it's always a volatile mix.

m76 got a reaction from killamch89 in Anyone here use CDKeys.com?
I've been using cdkeys for years maybe a decade. Never had a problem with them. They buy retail copies of games in bulk and resell the keys online. They are cheaper than b&m exactly because they have no b&m facilities to upkeep. There is nothing illegal about it. You are mistaking it for kingui, g2a and similar marketplaces where they actually sell keys obtained by way of credit card fraud / credential theft / phising.
I also used to use gmg, but they went off the deepend with their prices. They are now more expensive than physical copies I can buy locally, so in that case I'd rather get that.

When I first saw Dune II at one of my friends, I thought: "What a boring and pointless game"
For the longest time I thought all RPGs are dumb, because it's all about assigning skill points and attributes in a menu, and games should be all action, not fiddling in menus.
this culiminated when I first played Mass Effect, as I outright refused to deal with skills and inventory, so I actually finished the game with level1 gear from the first map of the game. I can tell you one thing: It was extremely hard even on the easiest setting. Harder than playing the game on insanity difficulty normally.
I think the first RPG that I embraced and played as such was Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Mafia 2, the orchestral plays, and the main character starts telling about his childhood and how he got into his current situation, cutscenes in that game should be a separated film to be honest

Dark Souls as a single player RPG that lacks this basic feature of convenience to accommodate a completely pointless online mechanic is one of several reasons I can't stand those games. This doesn't make the game more challenging, just more annoying and that makes it a flaw and a major flaw at that. All to appease the game's own ego, it's ridiculous. At least in Deamon's Souls enemies stayed with certain areas and didn't respawn, so they was safe places to stop if you had to stop playing for a moment, the same way as MMO's tend to work.

I think Wolfenstein is a terrible example, it does a disservice to the cause it wants to preach. Yes I think especially the new colossus is very preachy.
The games doesn't take the nazi threat seriously, they are presented as extremely stupid almost infantile. This is a clear example of forgetting the past. The nazis weren't stupid, especially in the game since they won the war there.

It's very rough since the model was created through 3D reconstruction aka. photogrammetry using screenshots from the model viewer. If I could get my hands on the actual models from the game it would be much better.

It's as if people find a bone to chew on from time to time. I don't know what triggers them, anticipation perhaps. It's not that these games are significantly worse than others, it's that people have unrealistic expectations. Mass Effect Andromeda got the same treatment, and I think it was a fine game. Dragon Age inqusition was similarly broken at release yet nobody called it out, it generally was well recieved.
Or Fallout New Vegas was a broken mess as well, yet it is still adored and referenced as one of the greatest RPGs

I have to agree here - I think Medal Of Honor has done the Nazi a bit more service in terms of making them seem like an organized threat. I don't think I've seen a game actually depict the Nazis accurately as in the concentration camps, burning Jews alive, the various experiments done on said Jews. Most video games just skim over the details.
