  1. Good call @Gonassis i'll add in another option so you can vote for something atleast. I kind off want to keep this conversation going since i normally never pass up an opportunity to reminisce about the good old days aka childhood and share some stories as to how life was in belgium 20 orso years ago but that would completly derail this thread. If you want to keep going about this subject i encourage you to open a new topic and share some of your own childhood/adult experiences since you know it would be interesting and cool as to what somebody younger considers the good old days and I'll gladly chip in with a few my own.
  2. Those were the days when magazines came with a demo disk, while the magazines were mostly shit like opm you just got these for the demo disk, good times as a kid and a great way to discover new games and kill a few hours in anticipation whenever your parents would give you a new game. Oh man more simpler times that sadly will never come back. I had a subscription to retrogamer for the longest time but that was until a few years ago because they starting to focus more and more on old mostly british computers then anything else it diden't interest me all that much anymore and since it's coming from the uk it was like 125 euros a year for subscription which was expensive for a magazine that i just tended to flip trough quickly once before throwing on top the pile. I still buy a dutch magazine called power unlimited every month but don't have a subscription for it.
  3. I love state of decay think i put atleast 60 hours into the first game, the second game however, i see that it's still getting updated all the time, i never played yet. I had just beaten the first state of decay when the second game came out, so opted to wait a while before playing the second one as with many things in life i never got around to it. I do hope they put more emphasis on the surviving as a group or why not give us the option to play solo without a group, because that was one of the strongest points in the series -> the survival aspect, why not have rival gangs included aswell and hell why not being able to fall in love with a fellow survivor and give us the option to have children. It's a damn shame i haven't gotten around state of decay 2 yet, i should make work of that sometime soon.
  4. Talk about a confusing topic as i had to look up what prejudice and bogotry means and i still don't know, @StaceyPowers while i appreciate you creating many new topics and one can only wish they had the creativity to come up with topics as much you do because it encourages activity and discussion on the board. It would be helpful if you could add little more then just a question in your posts as in give us an example to go on, this topic being a prime example of confusing what do you want me to answer, maybe it's my barebones english that fails me at times i don't know. It also doesen't help you don't follow up on a lot of your own threads but that is your decision. Offcourse i'm in no position to tell you what to do and i won't, just see this as constuctive feedback since a lot of your threads deal with more out of box topics the least you can do is add an example or atleast be a bit more clearer in your opening posts. Thanks in advance.
  5. Xbox is my main platform aslong it's avaible in physical format anything i can play on xbox i play on there. If it's an indie or smaller game and not avaible on xbox physically but on other platforms the physical option exist i'll just get it on switch. Playstation is just for exclusives. If it's a digital only affair i'll pass alltogether, unless it gets a big discount. When i think about it, can't really remember the last time i bought a digital only game as the last few i got trough bids for rewards or games with gold.
  6. Finally ready as I've filled the fridge with monster energy cans yesterday. Since @Heatman insisted i should play it so i'm going to start Monster energy supercross 5 : the official videogame, man even typing out the name of the game gives me a dirty feeling.
  7. I agree with animal crossing especially the last game in the series where the npc's seems to be encouraging everithing you do, haven't played too much of New horizons myself as i try to have a social life of some sort. Pretty much any Harvest moon and or story of seasons games would be a good candidate for this thread they even get more friendlier the further you progress in the game, same with my time at portia most npc's seem to be too nice for your own good especially once you've done a mission for them. The later dragon quest games are also worth a mention since you can just enter npc's their home and search for loot and ransacking their place as they don't seem to care at all. I think the fable series is deserves a shoutout too since you can pretty much befriend any npc in the entire game. You could pretty much start listing any nintendo game here aswell, since i've not seen a rude npc in either pokemon or legend of zelda series as most npc's are there either to give you a hint or tip or they just want to give you a side mission.
  8. While i try to avoid spoilers as much as possible it's not always easy to avoid spoilers especially when said game is over a year old and pretty much everyone has played it exept for you, but yeah sometimes i'm guilty of looking up a characters dead if it can be avoided or not especially when i already know what is going to happen because somebody felt the need to spoil the game for me i'm sure they mean no harm but you know it's annoying if that is the case may aswell try and go for the best possible ending in the game.
  9. Don't mind it to be honest, If this is how the devs intended anybody should play their games go for because i'm all fine for it. The only problem is finding the right balance of difficulty take rockstar their last 2 games gta 5 and rdr2 don't have a difficulty setting, i feel like they did a great job with them. I wouldn't call them easy but they are not that hard at all and they are designed so anybody can beat, fail to many times on a mission you can skip it, no idea why anybody would do that but it's there. Mad max also didn't have a difficulty option and is imo one of the best games from the past 10 years, from what i remember you just can't go into a camp and start knocking everybody until you get some upgrades, encouraging the player to go off the beaten path and do some exploration for upgrades. Offcourse if you tend to do everithing you pretty much are max level by half of the game, which is the same with all assasins creed games up until origins, overall they were fairly easy games even when you diden't upgrade i'm fairly sure you could just beat those games without upgrading any of your gear. Another one that diden't have a difficulty at launch that i really like is Kingdom come deliverance and you know they added a harder difficulty later on, but the base game especially in the beginning was really hard. A bow is barely useable unless you start training, same with a sword you have to properly train before you can use it, go against a couple of bandits it's going to be mostlikely game over for you. Offcourse later on the game once you get proper gear becomes easier and easier eventough you still can't defeat an army of bandits by yourself. Alchemy while confusing at first, makes for a unique experience on it's own, especially since you have to use snapps to save the game. Man wish i had another 200 hours spare for another playtrough. I tend to agree with @Shagger on games from From software, i feel like they should atleast contain a lower difficulty setting especially a much hyped game like elden ring, i know purist will scream bloody murder but i'm sure it can only benefit sales in the end. i managed to get my way trough the first darks souls but other then that i never bothered with any of their other games. I just don't have the time anymore to be stuck at a boss for a couple of hours until you finally get lucky to beat it, sure the feeling is great but the cursing and frustration not so much because i play games to relax not to get frustrated. Don't get me wrong i will pick and play elden ring one of these days just not for full price because i'm not sure i have it in me anymore to experience 60+hours of constant frustration. This leads us to the next question should games have a so called story mode? I feel like devs should stick to just easy mode instead where there is something atleast worthy of a challenge, if you play something like the witcher 3 on the easiest mode, alchemy becomes completly unnecessary and thus meaning you can skip on of the most important parts when doing a monster contract and that is preparation. I've seen this in many modern western rpg's where on the easiest difficulty you can skip many parts of the game because so you are so overpowered. Again i'm going a little off topic and this would be better for another topic but you know. Oh yeah the thread was about games with no difficulty option, like i said i don't mind them at all. The problem is that we have gotten so spoiled over the years that their needs to be a difficulty setting for everybody no matter what skill a gamer is. But you know if they don't have a difficulty option many games tend to cather towards a more casual audience making them easy in the process, well unless you are from software they don't seem to care.
  10. Welcome to vgr, if you like Shin Megami Tensei games i'm sure you feel right at home here as many of us do. Just promise you'll keep some time left over to post on vgr because Smt games can be quite the time sinkers.
  11. The one i picked up came out a couple of months ago. You guys really want me to play this do you, i'll give it a try over the weekend and let you know if it's worth your time and money, probably not tough.
  12. Time for a good old fashioned poll! As topic title says What Gaming subscriptions do you have and are you satisfied with them? Why not? Do you pay for any of the more expensive premium services like xbox game pass ultimate or playstation plus premium or just go for the base version? As for myself I just pay for xbox live, while it's probably just a waste of money as i don't game online, i feel like i still get my money's worth with the free games with gold program. Edit : if you feel like i left out any major subscription service please let me know so i can add it into the poll.
  13. Guess it's the end of the month so why not post all the shit i've gotten since the last time i posted here, i keep saying myself slown down dude but it never seems to happen lol. Still all in all a pretty solid month, i'm near the end of the japanese og xbox set so that is going to be my priority now until it's finished as in having one copy of each game released minus variants and the few limited editions i'm missing maybe i'll track down those later. After i finish the og xbox set, i'll probably go for a complete japanese gamecube set to alongside collecting the xbox 360 and wii u set, i always said 360 would my last set i aim to complete but you know gotta keep collecting and you can never have enough games lol. I wasn't really going to buy any gamecube games but a french collector was selling off a chunk of his collection so i grabbed what i diden't have yet as his prices were pretty good. I always wanted to get a japanese wii because why not it's an interesting console and the japanese library of games is much better then in the west as in less crap and more unique experiences, in one of my visits to japan i almost bought this tales of graces premium bundle when it newly released but it was too big and bulky to take it with me. So i never got around picking up a japanese wii until now, saw this minty bundle on yahoo japan for about 40 bucks so i snagged it, it also came with 4 games so that's a bonus aswell : And lastly the modern crap, nearly all xbox games were games on sale apart from fallen legion which is the first Nis release on a xbox console, so i figured i had to support that, the first xbox atlus release is also out now but i've yet to pick that up. Offcourse switch games never go on sale and i only intended to pick up xenoblade chronicles 3 as you can see i failed horrible in just doing that, the only excuse i can say i had a 100 euro coupon left from that store that i got for my birthday.
  14. It's a shame because days gone was one of the best exclusives on the ps4, not only did it have a great story and was it really fun to play especially with the constant threat from freakers on higher difficulties. The world was also a joy to explore aswell and deacon is a likeable character and i feel like there is so much potential as to what more you can do in that days gone world, maybe sony needs to do a beefed up ps5 version in a few years to see if there is still in interest in the franchise before deciding to give up on days gone all together.
  15. Milestone crapped out 5 supercross games since 2018 so i guess it's pretty much alive. No idea if these are any good i only played milestone their Mxgp and ride series in the past and since it's coming from milestone i'd say it's going to be mediocre at best, their games are not bad but they are not good either like with any games that leans towards a more niche sport if your are a fan of the sport i'm sure there is a lot to love. I don't know how big supercross still is in the Us and since it's pretty much a Usa only afair it keeps suprising me they keep putting this out even physical in europe. Lol only excuse i can come up is that i'm sucker who can't leave a bargain behind 😅 Believe it or not but i'm actually going to play it, wheter it's worth 22 euros i'm not sure , considering the fact it's so cheap 3 months after it's release doesen't really mean anything it's going to be anything good but i had to think about @Justin11 who was so exited this game came out and judging by his recent posts he still seems to be enjoying it very much.
  16. I'm i the only one who thinks as with what is confirmed now, the usual packed end of the year for big games is probably the worst it's been in years. While there are a couple of games i'm interested in getting there is nothing that remotly stands out for imo, maybe it has to with age i don't know like even ubisoft isn't releasing a blockbuster title while skulls and bones looks decent enough it's doubtfull that it's going to be a huge success for them.
  17. A big city would be cool where you play as a teenager or multiple teenagers, if they would use multiple characters i'd figure include multiple schools aswell. Include a job system like mowing somebody their lawn or delivering papers by bike would be a most to make money and past time acitvities as yeah what do teenager do these days to pass the time, i've got no idea lol, do they still hang out or is it online only. It would probably be better to set it into 70 ies or 80 ies, so you don't have to deal with phones and all that jazz. Like i don't know i'm just making this up as i'm writing this post becoming the most populair person at a school as that is what the first bully was about and challenge rival schools for their turf in the city man there are so many things you can do with bully that could be great to do.
  18. @Justin11 i don't know why but this is your fault look at what you made me buy, found this turd on sale for 22 euros figured i'd take it home with me 😂
  19. Don't play a ton of (survival) horror games myself but i'm guessing you could pretty much nominate any survival horror game as a candidate for this thread. Offcourse one game in particulair comes to mind the almighty and arguable the best horror game ever made -> Deadly Premonition but since i've brought that game up enough already why not leave it at that do consider it my number one pick for this thread. My nominations for this thread will be a bit off as they are not particulairy horror games but nonetheless are worthy of a mention. Among The sleep -> you could call this a horror game eventough i find it more of an adventure game then anything else where you play as a toddler who is trapped inside a scary dream and goes on to search for his mother, it only takes 3-4 hours to complete so perfect game to play on a rainy november evening, since you play as a child some of the shit is really disturbing well imo. Graveyard Keeper -> has you managing a medieval graveyard where you bury the dead yourself, offcourse in typical fashion you have to make some disturbing choices along the way as to upgrade your graveyard. That along makes it having a disturbing atmosphere while still being a relaxing gaming experience. what more can i say about Graveyard keep if you like stardew valley and have 20 bucks to spare this will be your jam i'm sure. Gleaner Heights -> Yet another stardew valley clone yes i know but hear me out, while not as refined as stardew valley it's a more sinister or macabre version of stardew valley, while all the usual life sime and farming elements are there it's only the surface once you start digging deeper you'll find a suprising dark/disturbing adventure game waiting for you. Maybe not choices you'd expect here but why not think outside the box for once. It would have been so much easier to just resident evil or clock tower but you know not really a fan of those games anymore.
  20. Was actually going to post the same to stay ontopic but @Withywarlock beat me to it. This thread has run it's course i guess, unless somebody who is a parent with kids old enough to play videogames here wants to chim in and share their own experiences? I'd love to hear them if you are willing to post them as maybe we could learn a thing or two along the way.
  21. Can't say i'm really suprised by this move, like it wouldn't be suprising if microsoft would slash 50 bucks of the series x that would be a brilliant move from microsoft their part. The price increase is a logical move but that doesn't mean i agree with it. If you look around you everithing got more expensive these past few years ranging from food, fuel, electricity, gas,etc if you consider the rising costs of all that, it's not suprising that the manufactor costs of the ps5 is increased by quite a bit. It's a dick move i'll give you that but a logical one and probably a move that was necesary if you consider the rising costs of something like electricity needed to produce a console.
  22. Yeah well nintendo can afford to keep their exclusives to their own platforms, not only that but let's face it Nintendo is 10 years behind in terms of technology so it's doubtfull most of their games even need to have the budget of any current gen "triple a" game and i'm sure with any nintendo published game even the more unknown titles are good to turn a decent profit. I'll admit i was kinda skeptical when i got a swicht at launch but now i'm more on board with nintendo then ever, imo the switch is the last traditional console as we once one knew consoles like no long installation time, you pop in a cart and you are good to go, offcourse i meanly use the switch for exclusives and indie games, eventough the switch is starting to show it's age by now it's still a damn fine machine with a huge amount of games you can't play anywhere else. My only wish would be that nintendo would just make a consolised version of the switch something. Always liked spencer, he is the face of xbox now and does it pretty well. While i don't read everithing he says, any human being is bound to say something stupid at some point, only if you and me do it, nobody is really going to care, well atleast i hope so. Also Let's not go into microsoft and them activision/blizzard because it's getting old and stale by now. I can't see it happening them making all these ip's exclusive to their own platform, just like i can see starfield coming to a playstation platform maybe a few years after it launched on microsoft platforms because you know where are they going to recoup the overall costs that it toke to make starfield because apperently starfield is already one of the most expensive games ever are gamepass and probably physical/digital sales going to be enough to recoup som of the costs, let alone the 7,5 billion dollars they paid to aquire zenimax. It's almost crazy to say but combine the aquisition of activision/blizzard and Zenimax together with that kind of money you could quite frankly solve a lot of problems in the world.
  23. Welcome to the only forum that really matters on the internet
  24. Was going to make a big post with a bunch of reasons as to why you should get a switch, until i noticed this thread is over 8 months old so if the topic creator @GeppyX has not up made up their mind over the course of 8 months wheter or not they will buy a switch i'm afraid they never will. Considering they have not logged in here for quite a while i doubt this thread is still relevant enough to continue. Well unless somebody needs convincing on why they should get a switch i'd be more then happy to give you several good reasons.
  25. I had no idea rollercoaster tycoon was still around but oh man, i remember soaking hours on end on rollcoaster tycoon 1 and 2 back in the day on my dad his computer, shame to see what once was such a great franchise to be in such dire state like this and probably being milked dry for all that they possibly can.
