Yaramaki got a reaction from Gonassis in In what games are NPCs most friendly?
Lol skyrim has some of most non friendly npc's in any game i've played, wheter it's because of a bug or not some npc's will attack you out of nowhere for no reason at all or maybe i did steal something from them by accident i don't know, it's good for a laugh tough when they chase you all the way trough the world only for you to end up at a bandit or giant camp and getting them killed in the process 😂
Makes me think off that incest couple in rdr 2 where if you spared the big fat dude, he would chase you all over the entire map and if you had patience enough he could be attacked and killed by a wild animal.

Yaramaki got a reaction from Gonassis in What Gaming subscriptions do you have and are you satisfied with them?
Good call @Gonassis i'll add in another option so you can vote for something atleast. I kind off want to keep this conversation going since i normally never pass up an opportunity to reminisce about the good old days aka childhood and share some stories as to how life was in belgium 20 orso years ago but that would completly derail this thread.
If you want to keep going about this subject i encourage you to open a new topic and share some of your own childhood/adult experiences since you know it would be interesting and cool as to what somebody younger considers the good old days and I'll gladly chip in with a few my own.

Those were the days when magazines came with a demo disk, while the magazines were mostly shit like opm you just got these for the demo disk, good times as a kid and a great way to discover new games and kill a few hours in anticipation whenever your parents would give you a new game. Oh man more simpler times that sadly will never come back.
I had a subscription to retrogamer for the longest time but that was until a few years ago because they starting to focus more and more on old mostly british computers then anything else it diden't interest me all that much anymore and since it's coming from the uk it was like 125 euros a year for subscription which was expensive for a magazine that i just tended to flip trough quickly once before throwing on top the pile.
I still buy a dutch magazine called power unlimited every month but don't have a subscription for it.

I love state of decay think i put atleast 60 hours into the first game, the second game however, i see that it's still getting updated all the time, i never played yet. I had just beaten the first state of decay when the second game came out, so opted to wait a while before playing the second one as with many things in life i never got around to it.
I do hope they put more emphasis on the surviving as a group or why not give us the option to play solo without a group, because that was one of the strongest points in the series -> the survival aspect, why not have rival gangs included aswell and hell why not being able to fall in love with a fellow survivor and give us the option to have children.
It's a damn shame i haven't gotten around state of decay 2 yet, i should make work of that sometime soon.

I've played a lot of worse games but one game that always stood out to me as the biggest garbage i've played over the years was Charlie's Angels on the ps2 the fact that i paid full price for it made it even worse. Yes shame on me i know.

Sounds great. 😄 I am enjoying the SMT games so far, so I'm glad to see more fans around.
No kidding. Devil Survivor in particular is consuming the most of my time so far with its annoyingly tricky victory conditions. I can't even rely on the typical Atlus paid DLCs to boost my level up for an easier game because there is none for DeSu. It reached a point where I just feel like giving up on cracking the skills during battles and just get it over with by defeating the enemies ASAP, regardless of whether I've succeeded in cracking the skills.

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing you too. 🙂

Yaramaki reacted to Shagger in Games with no difficulty settings
Long term members will likely know how I feel about this already, but for the rest, games with no difficulty options are stupid.

People have the right to get want they want out off the games they buy. If someone is more interested in story and exploration over combat and challenge, they should be able to tailor that experience. Likewise if somebody finds a game to be too easy and less engaging as a result, the are within thier rights to make it more challenging and satisfying to play. Contrary to what the "Git Gut" pricks say, having difficulty options creates challenging experiences in games, not deny them it. Having these options available also puts developers in a place where they actually have to put the effort onto all these aspects of the game, so the game itself is just generally better for it. Better stories, more interesting game worlds, better gameplay, only good thigs for everyone can come out of games having difficulty options. However, focusing only on difficulty for a game with no difficulty options usually makes a game worse. When making a game as hard as possible in this mantra, the game becomes cheap and unempowering to play. When trying to hard to make it easy, the player engagement suffers and the game becomes boring and and you care less about what's going on.

In some types of games like platformers, some bullet hell games, puzzle games, multiplayer, interactive narratives or games made for young children, it does make sense to not have difficulty options, but otherwise the only reasons developers don't include difficulty options is laziness, sheer arrogance or both. Fuck games that do this for no good reason. They are worse than other, similar games just for doing this and also worse as a result of doing this as they are made by people who do not have thier priorities straight from minute one.

It's not like I don't enjoy a challenge, for example I can't play Horizon Zero Dawn on any difficulty other that Ultra Hard anymore, but because that game can be made playable for people only interested in the story and exploring the open world, it's a better game than anything from From Software (Even thier name is annoying, do they seriously think that's funny?). I would be more forgiving of thier games if difficulty was genuine instead of the cheap and cryptic "trial and error" approach they use instead. They are sluggish, crippling and limiting in terms of control, something that is again done on purpose create a false challenge, with enemy combat strengths and weaknesses and aspects of the the environment that serve as beginners traps. Whereas in Horizon ZD, you are given all the info you could want about the enemies as soon as you scan them, offered a wide variety of weapons and combat strategies and the game is empowering in the way it controls with swift, purposeful movement and instant, connected reactions. They do that and still mange to make a challenging game. The benfit of that is that every triumph and every mistake you own complexly, unlike when I played Demon Souls and Bloodbourne where I either felt robbed or "got lucky" that time after every fight. I hated it.

Milestone crapped out 5 supercross games since 2018 so i guess it's pretty much alive. No idea if these are any good i only played milestone their Mxgp and ride series in the past and since it's coming from milestone i'd say it's going to be mediocre at best, their games are not bad but they are not good either like with any games that leans towards a more niche sport if your are a fan of the sport i'm sure there is a lot to love. I don't know how big supercross still is in the Us and since it's pretty much a Usa only afair it keeps suprising me they keep putting this out even physical in europe.
Lol only excuse i can come up is that i'm sucker who can't leave a bargain behind 😅
Believe it or not but i'm actually going to play it, wheter it's worth 22 euros i'm not sure , considering the fact it's so cheap 3 months after it's release doesen't really mean anything it's going to be anything good but i had to think about @Justin11 who was so exited this game came out and judging by his recent posts he still seems to be enjoying it very much.

Can't say i'm really suprised by this move, like it wouldn't be suprising if microsoft would slash 50 bucks of the series x that would be a brilliant move from microsoft their part.
The price increase is a logical move but that doesn't mean i agree with it. If you look around you everithing got more expensive these past few years ranging from food, fuel, electricity, gas,etc if you consider the rising costs of all that, it's not suprising that the manufactor costs of the ps5 is increased by quite a bit.
It's a dick move i'll give you that but a logical one and probably a move that was necesary if you consider the rising costs of something like electricity needed to produce a console.

Yaramaki got a reaction from killamch89 in I wish they'd make more music making games
The problem with creating a music making "game" is that it's going to be very hard to come up with a combination between videogame and software i'd say it's damn near impossible to have a mix of both, sure you could add an indept tutorial but it's still going to be software, offcourse you could always add a campaign of some sort but then you probably have to strip out features so anybody could "play" it.
Say a company makes a "game" like this, one huge factor to consider is copyright infringement because you're damn right some clever bastards are going to find a way to share copyrighted music and it probably could infact turn into the next kazaa or napster just to name a few. It's doubtfull any company  could handle the headache it would cause resulting in a couple of lawsuits here and there.
The next question is who on earth would want to make music on a console, when you have literally hundreds of programs avaible on pc (even some for free) that would do a much better job then any "video game" ever could.
Now to stick to the topic at hand i know off Xbox music mixer for the original xbox, i have a japanese copy that includes a dvd on how to use it but i'm not 100% sure if you can actually make music with it, since it's heavy reliant on online sharing between pc and xbox a lot of features are unusable these days.
Others i can think but sadly i can't say much about them are Traxxpad and Beaterator for the sony psp i have both of them at my parents place maybe i should try em out sometime soon. I'm sure there are a couple on the nintendo ds aswell but i can't say for sure what they are called. I do know one game had a simple piano addon that you could hook up in the gba slot of your ds i think it was called easy piano.
Had to google it because it's name eluded me but there is always Korg Gadget for the switch if you want to start music career which seems much more advanced then anything i've seen before on a console.

Yaramaki got a reaction from killamch89 in Petition for Sony to approve Days Gone 2
It's a shame because days gone was one of the best exclusives on the ps4, not only did it have a great story and was it really fun to play especially with the constant threat from freakers on higher difficulties. The world was also a joy to explore aswell and deacon is a likeable character and i feel like there is so much potential as to what more you can do in that days gone world, maybe sony needs to do a beefed up ps5 version in a few years to see if there is still in interest in the franchise before deciding to give up on days gone all together.

I feel like the embracer group has been a breath of fresh air in the gaming industry, like a big company that is still willing to take a gamble on a new ip or a franchise that has been considered long dead by many. Wheter or not their games are good let's leave that in between but they put out a variety of stuff under their different publisher labels (deep silver/thq nordic/etc) it's kinda hard not to like them as a company from a neutral standpoint.

I'm i the only one who thinks as with what is confirmed now, the usual packed end of the year for big games is probably the worst it's been in years. While there are a couple of games i'm interested in getting there is nothing that remotly stands out for imo, maybe it has to with age i don't know like even ubisoft isn't releasing a blockbuster title while skulls and bones looks decent enough it's doubtfull that it's going to be a huge success for them.

Yaramaki got a reaction from Withywarlock in Games with most disturbing atmospheres?
Don't play a ton of (survival) horror games myself but i'm guessing you could pretty much nominate any survival horror game as a candidate for this thread. Offcourse one game in particulair comes to mind the almighty and arguable the best horror game ever made -> Deadly Premonition but since i've brought that game up enough already why not leave it at that do consider it my number one pick for this thread. My nominations for this thread will be a bit off as they are not particulairy horror games but nonetheless are worthy of a mention.
Among The sleep -> you could call this a horror game eventough i find it more of an adventure game then anything else where you play as a toddler who is trapped inside a scary dream and goes on to search for his mother, it only takes 3-4 hours to complete so perfect game to play on a rainy november evening, since you play as a child some of the shit is really disturbing well imo.
Graveyard Keeper -> has you managing a medieval graveyard where you bury the dead yourself, offcourse in typical fashion you have to make some disturbing choices along the way as to upgrade your graveyard. That along makes it having a disturbing atmosphere while still being a relaxing gaming experience. what more can i say about Graveyard keep if you like stardew valley and have 20 bucks to spare this will be your jam i'm sure.
Gleaner Heights -> Yet another stardew valley clone yes i know but hear me out, while not as refined as stardew valley it's a more sinister or macabre version of stardew valley, while all the usual life sime and farming elements are there it's only the surface once you start digging deeper you'll find a suprising dark/disturbing adventure game waiting for you.
Maybe not choices you'd expect here but why not think outside the box for once. It would have been so much easier to just resident evil or clock tower but you know not really a fan of those games anymore.

A big city would be cool where you play as a teenager or multiple teenagers, if they would use multiple characters i'd figure include multiple schools aswell. Include a job system like mowing somebody their lawn or delivering papers by bike would be a most to make money and past time acitvities as yeah what do teenager do these days to pass the time, i've got no idea lol, do they still hang out or is it online only.
It would probably be better to set it into 70 ies or 80 ies, so you don't have to deal with phones and all that jazz. Like i don't know i'm just making this up as i'm writing this post becoming the most populair person at a school as that is what the first bully was about and challenge rival schools for their turf in the city man there are so many things you can do with bully that could be great to do.

It be stupid to release a limited editon console when it's damn near impossible for people to just get a regulair version at normal retail price. Because you know these limited editions would most likely be scooped up like crazy by scalpers and in turn being offered on the secondary market for twice the price and that would anger/dissapoint people even more who really just want to have a ps5.
