  1. I've never had any issues myself with playing any video games. I know there's lots of people who suffer from seizures and I can see the flashing lights coming from gunfire in video games triggering seizures to those who are photosensitive. It's not just from FPS games either, in 1993 a parent tried suing Nintendo and blamed their games for their 14 year old son dying from a seizure he suffered after playing Super Mario. Then in 2002 another person tried suing Nintendo because her 30 year old son suffered a seizure after playing his N64. Kind of ridiculous to try and sue Nintendo over this when they clearly have warnings in their manuals. Plus the 30 year old allegedly played his N64 for 48 hours straight a week.
  2. I live in the states too so I ended up with the same game as you. Honestly I never really could get into Super Mario Bros. 2 here, it's just a hack of Doki-Doki panic which is another NES title. I prefer The Lost Levels, I remember playing it on Super Mario All-Stars as a kid since one of my childhood friends had a SNES. I suppose Nintendo thought we couldn't handle The Lost Levels at first, I mean Squaresoft thought we couldn't handle a JRPG so we ended up getting Mystic Quest instead of Final Fantasy V.
  3. I definitely think Tetris is still quite popular, at the very least even the original game still gets references here and there. I never played any of the titles other than Tetris on the NES and Genesis. People still enjoy puzzle games, but honestly I've been more of a fan of games like Puyo-Puyo and even Sega's Columns.
  4. I've been meaning to give this game a go, for some reason I used to get Wonder Boy in Monster Land mixed up with Alex Kidd which used to be Sega's mascot before Sonic the Hedgehog came around. I've heard many great things about this game, many say it's one of the best Master System games. I never knew there was a port of the game to the Turbografix 16 either!
  5. I can imagine that the Xbox would have been even more expensive if it had a wifi adapter. Wifi was relatively new when the Xbox first released, having a wired connection was most likely more reliable than a wifi signal at the time. It'd suck if you were in the middle of a match and the Xbox was disconnected from your wifi. I do wish the Xbox 360 had it built in though, it sucked that you had to get a wireless adapter whereas the PS3 had it built in so you didn't need to purchase anything extra.
  6. My favorite Playstation has to be the PS2. I remember when I first got my PS2, I loved that it was backwards compatible with the PS1 so the library of games was huge! The early models of PS3s were cool too, though none of them properly play my favorite RPG on the PS1 however, so that's another reason why the PS2 is my favorite.
  7. Honestly I only use Google, every once in a while I'll use Bing if I want to earn some points that I can use to purchase gift cards to games. I actually got a game basically for free by using the points I got for simply using Bing. When I was a kid I remember using Ask Jeeves here and there, one time when my best friend and I were kids we thought we could make real Digimon and we went to "ask jeeves" how to make Digimon. :V
  8. Some free to play games have way too many ads IMO. I get that's how it stays free, but dear god there's games where you can barely do anything without an ad interrupting your game. I'm happy that not every free to play game has ads, for example Pokemon Go is free to play but you don't get any ads. To be fair, they probably have a bunch of people who purchase in game items to keep them from having to add advertisements in the game.
  9. I think it's a great stress relief, though it depends on which game I'm playing. Some games make me angry and that's not a good stress reliever at all. xD However if I play games that I'm familiar with or enjoy playing, then it definitely can help me de stress after a long day at work or if I'm just having a bad day.
  10. I'm with @kensonplayson this one, if the PC counts then I'll definitely pick that over anything else. Not only do you get access to Steam titles, you get access to any console that has a emulator plus you even get access to old PC games too! You can play old games either through GOG if they're on the service, or set up PCEm with Windows 98 and it works well for old Windows games.
  11. The first console I ever go was a Sega Genesis model 2 in 1998. We moved to our new house and there was a local game store nearby. I remember my dad and I going to the store and I remember I got confused because I had only seen a Model 1 up until that point but when I seen the text on the console I knew the clerk gave me the right console lol. I still have that Genesis and it still works to this very day, though I use my Model 1 more.
  12. The first Nintendo "console" I got was the original brick Gameboy in 1999. I grew up with the Genesis so I was a Sega kid until the late 90's. As for my first actual Nintendo console it was the N64, I got mine in 2002 from my cousins. I remember it came with 1080 and Ready to Rumble boxing. Those were the only games they owned, they rented games more than purchasing them.
  13. I was thinking about either building or purchasing an old computer to play old games, but instead I decided to emulate a Windows 98 PC using PCem. If you don't have the room for a old pc nor have the time or expertise to build your own old PC, it's the next best thing. It's much better than Virtual Box. I've had issues running old games on Virtual Box, but haven't ran into any issues getting games to work with the configuration I have set up in PCem.
  14. I used to have a old brick Gameboy, but then for my 11th birthday in 2001 I got my atomic purple Gameboy color. For some reason I decided to trade that in for a Gameboy Pocket a few years later. I still don't understand why I even did that... At this point I did have a Gameboy Advance for a little bit but it ended up breaking... After that I eventually got a DS Lite which I used for my GBA games and kept my Gameboy Pocket for my original Gameboy games. I had a Gameboy player for a while too, but again I traded that into my local game store too and I regret that.
  15. I've been playing Pokemon since 1999, and I started with Yellow version! My best friend gave me his old Gameboy with a copy of Yellow version. I had to give the game back to him but I did get to keep the Gameboy at least. His mom thought I stole yellow... anyways shortly after that I got a copy of Blue version. My favorite generation is Generation 3 though, I just recently got a reproduction cart of Emerald since I've always wanted this game but you know how expensive Pokemon games are these days. I own all the gen 1 games including Green version currently. I also own two copies of gold, a copy of crystal, ruby version, Diamond, Platinum, Black 2, Heart Gold/Soul Silver, Y, Sun/Moon, Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, Sword/Shield, and Scarlet/Violet. My favorite Pokemon is Incineroar, it's so awesome!
  16. That's an odd coincidence that your power went out while watching the video lol. Anyways, the "fun is infinite with Sega enterprises" screen from Sonic CD never freaked me out. I just thought it was an odd screen lol. It did scare one of my friends when he was a kid though, he unlocked it once when he was young. I guess if I seen it as a kid it would have scared me, but I didn't play Sonic CD until I was 18 years old.
  17. I just bought a mystery steam key bundle from Fanatical the other day, I haven't revealed the keys yet since I plan on making a video revealing what games I got. I think it's cool, though it sucks when you end up with games you already bought. Of course then you could just give away the extra keys in contests on forums or if you have a Youtube channel you could give them away to subscribers. I like the Humble Bundle too since it goes towards charity.
  18. I got my Xbox One S back in 2018, so it's about 5 years old now. I do want to upgrade to a Series X eventually, but honestly I'm in no rush right now. I have a bunch of disc games which is why I'd rather have the Series X plus the graphics look better on the Series X compared to the Series S. I had an original Xbox One back in 2016, but I had to sell it since I needed money. It was a launch model I bought refurbished off the Microsoft store. Prior to that I also had a 360 Elite I got back in 2010, but I had to sell it as well for money.
  19. Perhaps if the Gex Trilogy sells well maybe we'll get a new Gex game! That's what I'm hoping at least, if Bubsy of all franchises can get a newer game I don't see why Gex couldn't. If we do get a new Gex title, I hope it's a 3D title and we can play as the other characters introduced in Deep Cover Gecko. In that title, you could play as Cuz, Rex, and Alfred but only in the bonus stages. It'd be cool to have a few different characters to play as with each their own abilities.
  20. I don't know if I'll ever go back to playing Dark Souls 3. It took me 15 tries to beat the first boss and then I died a couple of times at the next part of the game and just never went back to playing it. Part of me wants to try and beat it but the other half knows I'm just going to rage quit again. xD
  21. I think it's absolutely fine for games to be inclusive, and if that makes certain games "woke" then whatever. The only things I don't like are when well established games get remakes and certain things are taken out because they're "too insensitive". For example, I wasn't a fan when the dialog of the old man outside of Erika's gym was changed, I thought the original text was hilarious.
  22. My favorite Playstation game is a tie between Spyro Year of the Dragon as well as Legend of Legaia. At least these are my favorite original Playstation titles, as for the other Playstation consoles I don't have a favorite. I enjoyed playing various games on the later consoles but a lot of my favorites these days are multiplatform.
  23. Honestly the Wii is probably one of my least favorite consoles. The motion control gimmick was cool at first, but it became somewhat of a pain to play certain games with motion controls. I prefer the GameCube and I know that's a unpopular opinion as the GameCube was Nintendo's second worse selling console only behind the Wii U. Which is really a shame since lots of good games were released on the GameCube.
  24. I was 4 years old when I first played a video game. My cousins brought over their Sega Genesis to my grandparents' house and one of my cousins convinced me to play Sonic the Hedgehog. I was hesitant at first, but then I grabbed the controller and started playing the game. I was instantly hooked and I remember I couldn't beat the first act of Green Hill Zone for the longest time. That's when my other cousins told me the level select cheat code, and I put it in and tried to beat Scrap Brain Zone. Shortly after I played Sonic, I played my dad's old Sears Pong console. He gave it to a friend shortly after I started playing video games though... I wish he held on to it. 😕
  25. I use a few different email services but I think gmail is the best one other than having a professional email. Yahoo has to be the worst one I've used though, I get so much spam since their spam filter is next to nothing. I also find all the ads in the inbox annoying, and good luck updating your name if you need to.
