What video game company stock would you invest in?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I would have to go with Rockstar if we're talking about software only. If we're including hardware, as much as I love Nintendo, I would have to go to Sony for the stock. I foresee them holding their value much better than Nintendo. -
What game has had the single biggest impact on your life?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Since I've put tens of thousands of hours into replays of the game, I would have to say FF8. I've been playing and replaying it for over 22 years. And I only get bored with it at the end of the third disc. The only reason I often don't go to the fourth disc, is because it's so short and boring as hell. But either way, that one would probably have to be it. -
Prior to FF8, it was almost always a Zelda game for me. If that wasn't it, then I would usually grab Blaster Master. The game is mind numbingly difficult, and holds up a giant middle finger the entire time you're playing it, but it's fun as hell. Each Area or "level" is such a lost maze and open that it's almost impossible to find the boss, and then find your way to the next Area. you can spend a full day in one Area searching and searching, and NEVER find the boss. That's how big and confusing these levels are. It's the closest the NES ever came to an open world game. And a spoiler for those interested, the entrance to Area 4, is not located in Area 3. Nor is the entrance to Area 7 located in Area 6.

Maybe it's like pro sports. You have to have a certain skill level and abilities to make the cut, and there weren't any women who went for it that made the cut. Or that there just weren't any women interested in joining the teams. I don't know, as I don't really pay any kind of attention to eSports, so I could just be talking out of my ass. More of us in the league, would be nice to see though.

What characters would you like to see in Smash Bros?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Nintendo
The Antagonist. THAT would be an interesting one. -
What other 3rd party games would you like to see the Switch get?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Nintendo
If you search Tower Defense in the eShop, a ton of games come up. I'm not familiar with the series, so I don't know which games would actually apply, but there's a lot of them. -
things you regretted doing as a kid when gaming
The Blackangel replied to Patrik's topic in Gaming Forum
They marketed shit well. That’s why you had the power glove. For me my biggest regret was not taking my time to experiment. I would blow through a game and not try different things. For example, now I know how to junction magic and abilities in FF8 to make my characters virtually invincible. 20 years ago I had no clue, because I didn’t take the time. -
Consoles from back then used chips that were simpler and cheaper to make. Thus they were in a much higher supply. The chips that we use now didn’t exist back then. You’re talking about 16 bit graphics being the pinnacle of gaming design. Now, however, the chips we have are capable of running lifelike graphics. If they offered scent we could tell who had recently brushed their teeth and who farted. The technology of gaming now is so intricate and powerful that one chip takes much longer to make than it did 10, 20, 30 years ago. As technology advances, chips and other components to support it will take longer to make, thus slower supply chains. It’s like when CD’s were released. People were spending thousands on CD players and getting rid of their cassette players. Now people are streaming and buying digitally, and losing interest in CD’s for a large part. Supply and demand is directly related to technological capabilities and advancements.

One of the newest additions to my collection
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in General Chat
I have display cases for them, that I bought from Zippo. Each of the 3 cases holds 50 lighters. I’m halfway to filling them at the moment. This is just one of two items that I collect. The other is skulls. -

I don't know any tricks, but these lighters don't get used. They're a collection. I keep the factory seal on the back of them, and display them. -

No, that's just the light reflecting off of it. That's actually the second pic I took. The first one had a huge glare that blocked about half of it from being seen. So I had to retake it. I bought it off the Zippo website. Also @Reality vs Adventure you might be interested to know that they have tons of AC zippos. -
They won't do it. They all supported Adolf, and fought against democracy. They're just making this claim to give the impression that their party matters. It doesn't. Even if they did form a new party, their actions and ideals wouldn't change. There would be no difference from how they are now except what they call themselves. The appropriate name for them would be Fucking Retards if you want to put it mildly. No offense to anyone with mental and cognitive difficulties. I have several of those issues myself. If they really want to get behind this country there already is a party they need to join. The people already in that party are called Democrats. And for those who try to use the "Democrat ends in rat" as an insult, I say thank you! Because if you knew anything about rats, you would know that they live in colonies in a nest. And there's a patriarch and a matriarch. They run the show. But all the other rats are finding food, defending the colony, and maintaining the nest. They work together to survive. They all take care of their young. They support each other and live together mostly peacefully. So to call us rats, is actually a huge compliment.

My collection has reached 75 Zippos currently, some of which I had made custom. But I thought this one would be of interest to the forum.

How would VR need to change for you to get into it?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
That wouldn't work for a lot or people though. It would be like seeing it on TV or on a computer. It could essentially cheapen the experience. I want to visit things like Stonehenge, the Pyramids/Sphinx at Giza, and the Colosseum. I want to see the Mona Lisa, and the Sistine Chapel. Seeing it through VR would make no difference. I could just admire them over my computer. -
It doesn't affect me personally all that much, because I always wait several years to buy a new/next gen console, assuming I buy one at all. But with the shortage of components needed and the demand going higher and higher every day, there's no way they can meet the worldwide demand anytime soon. I would estimate that it would be mid 2023 to late 2023 before they will be able to put out more of the system and start meeting the demand. I may be over shooting it, or I may be under shooting it. Only time will tell.

I grew up in a family that literally tried to kill me. My sperm donor beat the living shit out of me literally every day of my life until I was 18 when he finally died. I didn’t have to dodge boards anymore. I didn’t have to sleep with a loaded rifle anymore. I was finally free. I just hoped I didn’t have any permanent marks left over from this, but I unfortunately do.
-
Well if the father beat the shit out of his youngest literally every day until his death when the child was 18, but never touched a hair on the childs siblings, I could relate to it. If the mother looked the youngest in the eye and told them that she wished she had aborted them, I could relate to it. If uncle of the youngest one tried to kill them when they were two years old, I could relate to it. If they youngest child slept with a loaded rifle from the age of 12 one, then I could relate to it. The real world isn't as pretty as you think it is.

How did I not realize the PS3 vents through the bottom?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
This is why I stand all my systems up on end. -
Hardest lesson you ever learned gaming?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Being engrossed in a game doesn't block fists IRL. -
How would VR need to change for you to get into it?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
It would have to be specifically catered to people with disabilities. But even then my claustrophobia wouldn't let me play it. -
I got some $40ish games for like $1.49 on the Nintendo eShop when they went on sale several times. With physical, I couldn't tell you. I assume you're talking release date new, not new to me. If it was new to me, I got the first 3 AC games for less than a dollar.

Is there a genre you haven’t played you want to get into?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Some side scrollers are incredibly easy. Then and now. But for genre's to try, for me it would be more mystery games. Not necessarily horror, but mystery in general. -
FF8 would be my go-to. I know the game inside and out, so I can just get on it, and keep gaming while I deal with whatever issue.

What AAA franchise do you have zero interest in playing?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
GTA, and any war game like CoD and it's clones/sequels.
