  1. Are we talking something compatible with a specific game company? Like something that plays Xbox games? Or are we talking a whole new Gaming console completely different that uses its own format?
  2. Yeah, but with everything turning into digital downloads, backwards compatibility won't be an issue. You just pick the game you want, whether it's 30 days old or 30 years old, and download it. Some will download it to remember the "good ol' days" and others will download it out of curiosity. 20 years from now some college freshman may get curios as to what the hell Q*Bert is and download it. 20 years after that, another college freshman may get curious as to what the hell Skyrim is and download that. They won't even know what a PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch is. They probably won't even know what PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo even means. Their only knowledge will be different companies putting out games they can download on to their gaming storage unit. But by then it will also most likely be a Ready Player One situation. These are sad times. Be ready to be dinosaurs people.
  3. Duck Hunt was the shooter for me. The Zapper was fun as hell to play with. Silent Scope in the arcades was a great one too.
  4. I wouldn't know, as I usually tend to sleep on airplanes, unless it's an extremely short flight.
  5. Since the PS2, most consoles can be stood up on end, and that gives a much bigger exposed area to expel more heat and keep them cooler. But if that isn't working enough, then a small desk fan should do the trick. It has done wonders for me. Or if you're in a relatively small room, and can stand it, you could just put in an air conditioner for that room. For example I turned one of the small extra bedrooms in my house into a home office. It's where I spend most of my time. An AC unit would turn the room into an icebox if I put one in. Or if you don't have a window, you can buy AC units that aren't window units, but they are expensive as hell. Several hundred, pushing close to $1k.
  6. I don’t think I have even one digital game. All of mine are physical copies.
  7. I downloaded this the other day, and so far it's freaking awesome. I haven't come across any PFP crap yet, or loot boxes. So it's all good so far. Is anyone else playing this? What are your thoughts so far?
  8. I make the occasional YouTube video. They're nothing special, and I only have 2 videos uploaded at the moment anyway. But it's fun to do when the urge strikes me.
  9. Not really. Like I said, it was difficult.
  10. I just got home from the movies about 30 minutes ago. I saw 2 movies. The first one that I saw was Fantasy Island. I would give it a solid 8/10. It was good. It had a few twists and turns that I didn't anticipate. Nothing all that dramatic, but it was still a good movie. The other was Knives Out. That one, was...…..lets call it difficult. It's hard to give it a rating, because on one hand it was just pure dog shit, but on the other hand, it was awesome. All I can say is that if you haven't seen it, then go watch it and you'll understand. If you have seen it, then you know exactly what I'm saying.
  11. I honestly don’t think it will matter after a short while. Everything will be a digital download, so it’s not like reverse play will even be an issue at that point.
  12. Only when they’re trolling. The online badass type. Other that that I really don’t give a shit.
  13. I want to say one of Disturbed’s songs was in a video game, but I can’t for the life of me remember what game. I’m pretty sure the song was Down With The Sickness, though.
  14. I could teach you to bluff IRL, but in a video game I probably couldn’t help. So much of bluffing is body language and showing absolutely no reaction whatsoever to your cards, whether you have a royal flush, or absolutely nothing with a 9 high. Basically to be able to bluff successfully, you have to more or less be a professional liar.
  15. I've been there before. there have been a lot of movies that I just wasn't good with the first time around. My all time favorite movie is one of them. I made myself sit down and watch it a second time and I loved it. It was a bitch to follow the first time, but not now.
  16. Everyone at the bottom is replaceable. It's why games are going down in quality at such an alarming rate. everything is a sequel. There's no originality anymore. When developers were allowed to try something new, many games flopped because they weren't being given the time and money to actually develop the games. Not when there was the belief that they could make so much more money by releasing another one in a series that was doing so great. Another CoD, GoW, AC, GTA, and so on. We can't get anything original anymore. We as gamers are fucked. And the sad thing is, that for a large part, we brought it on ourselves. It's too dangerous and not profitable to take chances. We're never going to see another Marble Madness, Blackthorne, or Conker's Bad Fur Day. So settle in people because we're not going anywhere for a very very long time. Because nothing is new, and it's all sequels.
  17. Getting x-rays to figure out why I've been having some extreme pain deep in the bone, mainly on my shoulders. I haven't taken any injuries or fallen, so I'm at a loss as to why, and so is my doctor.
  18. I came across a game the other day that I didn't know I had. I just put it in a jewel case and set it aside because at the time I wasn't too interested in it. I checked out some screenshots just now and it looks like a kiddie game. It's Animorphs Shattered Reality. I didn't notice the "Animorphs" part when I picked it up. I don't know if it works or not. I know nothing about the game. I don't know if it's part of a franchise, or if it's just a one shot. Thoughts?
  19. We all know them. Over and over in multiple games we see them. From genre to genre, system to system, game to game. Something that was old when it was new. What is the most cliché enemy that you encounter in gaming? To me it's hands down skeletons, with zombies in a solid second place. I don't even want to try to count the amount of games I've encountered both or either of these in. But can't game developers think of something original? A small tweak on it doesn't count. It's still a skeleton. It's still a zombie.
  20. FF8 remaster was amazing. The colors were crystal clear, and the people and monsters are as life like as I have ever seen in a video game. Almost as good as the cut scenes in the game. they're not pixelated anymore, but realistic. It was done beautifully.
  21. Navigating my way through AC3, and playing Links Awakening and FF8 back and forth. But at the moment, I have Castlevania SOTN up.
  22. I thought the whole thing was scrapped months ago?
  23. I have a few entries here. One was in Blaster Master on NES. The writers of the game decided to be sneaky as hell with the entrance to level locations. The entrances to levels 2 and 3 are simple enough. You find the entrance to level 2 in level 1, and the entrance to level 3 in level 2. Stands to reason you would think the entrance to level 4 would be somewhere in level 3. Nope. It's hidden way back deep in level 1. It's in an area that's inaccessible until after you beat the level 3 boss. And unless you're lucky, you would never have noticed anything in the entire area but empty sky. Finding that was pure dumb luck. Another was in Legacy Of The Wizard. Your objective is to collect 4 crowns to awaken a dragon so you can kill it. I remember finding the first crown 30 years ago. I was over the moon. Now 30 years later, I HAVE STILL ONLY FOUND THAT ONE SINGLE FUCKING CROWN! UGH! Obtaining every mask in Zelda: Majoras Mask was a real achievement. Some were easy enough, and others were a true bitch to get. But in the end you can trade them all for the Fierce Deity mask and beat Majora easy as pie.
  24. I know they have used different actors in every Batman movie except for the first 2 that had Michael Keaton. But I never knew that the character was different.
