  1. The update was after I figured out that I had to physically connect the controller. I’m just wondering if this is what I’m going to have to do to play the machine.
  2. I have a few games here that I specifically use a Game Genie on every time I play them anymore. And it's not so I can make me so powerful that I can just breeze by everything. It's actually the opposite. I use codes to make my character weaker and my enemies stronger. The reason is because there are some games that, over the years, I've just gotten too good at. And while I love playing them, there's no challenge left. So I pop them in through the GG, and it's all good. My favorite games, redone with more challenge than before.
  3. What I learned is summed up in one very simple sentence: "Get the fuck out of my way."
  4. I have the Game Genie for NES and SNES, but rarely use them. Aside from that, the closest cheat I can think of that I use is in Castlevania SOTN. I use the name "code" that nets Alucard a base luck of 99 and I use the lapis lazuli trick to keep all his items past where Death takes them from you. Other than that, I don't really use any cheats anymore.
  5. Let's see, consoles I'm currently playing regularly: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and GBA SP. To name the ones that run more or less daily. With me, I keep the ones That I don't have hooked up at that current moment in file cabinets and plastic storage tubs. The amount of systems and games I have all combined takes up an entire closet, shelving and floorspace. And I also have duplicate systems. I think 5 PS2's for example and 4 PS3's. Somewhere around here there is an Xbox 360, 2 Wii's, and a Game Cube. Where they're at, I have no clue. I wasn't a fan of any of the 3 so it was always my girl that played them, with a rare exception. I liked Soul Caliber II, and Mario Kart on Wii. That's about it. When you're a cripple, you don't have a lot of options for entertainment, so you tend to have a lot of something when you find one that works. hence, my amount of gaming systems.
  6. I'm sure it will be here one day. Those will be the days when the only way to even SEE a PS5 will be in a museum. Kids will wonder how anyone could torture themselves with such primitive technology. Such shitty graphics, and SLOOOOOOOOOW gameplay. They will be wondering how people could bear living in such a primitive, caveman like time.
  7. If you want something impressive, you should check out the FF7/FF8 twin pack on switch. Both full games, with FF8 remaster, all on one switch cartridge. That's 7 discs worth of game play, one game with updated graphics and special features, all put into a cartridge that is no bigger than my thumbnail. Damn.
  8. Video length aside, it has me very interested. I don't know how a 30 second clip that did pretty much nothing could peak my interest, but it did.
  9. I'm sitting here waiting for an update to finish while my Xbox sets up. But I had one question. When starting the machine up I got to the screen where the Xbox was in back and the controller in the foreground with the green circle bouncing around the Xbox button. I tried several times to get it to go to the next screen but it did nothing. I tried new batteries, and hitting the sync button nothing. My last ditch idea was to connect it physically to the machine through a USB port. Lo and behold, that worked. But I'm wondering, did anyone else have to physically connect their controller? The machine is less than 2' away from me, so it's not like it was a real hassle of any kind. But I'm wondering because I want to know if I'm going to have to keep the controller plugged in to play, or if the wireless abilities are going to even be available since I had to go this route.
  10. My girl has the original Switch with the dock, so if I had to I could just use hers. But I picked it up last night. It was $15 for the Xbox One copy so I nabbed it. I could have gotten the PS4 copy for $19, but decided to go with the cheaper option.
  11. I have the lite. No docking ability.
  12. Witcher 3 Not what I would call an easy game. I'm thinking of picking it up on another console so I have a bigger screen and can possibly get into the game better before I really go adventuring on Switch.
  13. Personally, I never liked Spielberg to begin with, but it's not really possible to deny the fact that he's directed some amazing movies.
  14. When religion affects the story, then it can be useful to help explain things. For example, Zelda OoT. The 3 Goddesses creating everything, and the Deku Tree being the patron deity of the Kokiri. Those are both important elements to the story. And they are religious beliefs among the Hylia and Kokiri peoples.
  15. If someone gets all butt hurt about you being an Atheist, then fuck them. There's nothing wrong with Atheism. Shank them and walk on.
  16. I agree with you on that. The movie had its moments, but for the most part was just pure shit.
  17. I hadn't thought of that. You're most likely right. That's probably the case. But all things considered, I don't know why it would be out when we have the first Hexen easily available. But then there's also problems with Postal 2 and Manhunt 2 in certain countries, whereas the other editions in the series were perfectly fine.
  18. Hexen is a good one. It’s not a shooter unless you have certain items. Things like specific wands.
  19. Something like the movie Ready Player One would be really awesome.
  20. @StaceyPowers You know my religious beliefs. The games that cover that would be God Of War. They portray it extremely well. The Gods and lesser deities are portrayed almost perfectly. Even Charon is fairly well portrayed.
  21. I've seen reports that Coke is ungodly popular in Mexico. Almost to the point of people putting it in baby bottles to give to infants popular. I thought that was really cool. I've been to the Yucatan a few times, and I do know that the Pepsi also tastes wildly different from the Pepsi we have here in the states.
  22. I've had a scorpion, 2 ball pythons, macaw, hedgehog, copperhead (don't ask), and a raccoon. That's just what I can remember off the top of my head. But if I was to pick something else it would probably have to be a tarantula. I've always thought they were really cool.
  23. I have no plans to buy either. If I was going to go for one it would be the PS5. But I would wait 2 or 3 years. Give it time to fix the bugs on the initial release, the price to drop, and have more games released for it.
  24. I was a Colecovision kid when I was young. It was cheaper than Atari. Granted it was owned by Atari, and was pretty much the same system, but still. I remember the NES coming out in '85. It was the peak of gaming and the graphics and abilities the system had were mind blowing. So I wanted one. I got it a couple years late and played it like hell. Then the SNES came out. I saved up every penny I could get my hands on for over a year to buy one. You can see where this is going. With the exception of Game Cube and Wii, I have always been a Nintendo fan. The only systems I have never owned that they have put out since NES are Virtual Boy and Wii U. I've had every version of GameBoy. So since I grew up with Nintendo that's where most of my loyalty sticks. PS1 and PS3 have great games, and I play them a lot. But for me the top of gaming will always be Nintendo.
