I think there are different reasons for people not to keep their past systems, some of them might find easier to afford the new system by trading the old one to make the gap smaller. Then you have the people that have to move a lot so they can't really juggle all the consoles even if they wanted to own them. There are other gamers that are more of one time experiences and are satisfied passing the games once so once a new console comes they most likely feel they have juiced the console to their satisfaction. I guess we all just don't see gaming in the same way, it is not wrong, just different.

As for me, I love my classics. I moved countries and I still tried to hunt down the consoles and games from my childhood. There is something, some joy I can get from holding a genuine controller and cartridge. It helps me retreat to my safe zone. I am lucky my partner feels the same way because our living room is basically a modern and a CRT TV plugged to a bunch of different consoles from the Atari 2600 to the Nintendo Switch.

From my experience, perhaps people or most gamers always look up to having a new and improved gaming system in order to enjoy all the new features, benefits and upgrades that comes with the latest version of the system.
Why would you blame one for looking at getting a better experience with his or her gaming life?

    Yes, yes, and yes, lol.
I also am not a fan of escort missions for similar reasons—I also hate chasing down the escorted person if they decide to run off (or worse, attack something).
Timed missions are my most hated type of mission. Like you, I get performance anxiety when I see the timer. Worse, I feel like I can’t pause and look around, explore, enjoy the ambiance, etc. By the time I leave the area, I feel like I wasn’t really there at all. There was just rushing frantically and no room for other thought or experience.

One that baffled me was the lack of gore on God of War for the PS4, like seriously for those who played the whole game you will notice that you dont tend to see a lot of blood.
I'm not sure if this was done on purpose but going back to the previous god of war games the deaths where very gruesome. It didnt ruin the game and its still a 10/10 game but I was very surprised.

I believe depriving a person of their freedom is already a harsh punishment, and that the main purpose for doing so should be for the safety of others, not for punishment or justice. Ideally, I'd prefer a system geared toward rehabilitation. I see no reason not to give prisoners video games, especially if they behave. In all frankness, a lot of the crap that goes on in prisons probably could be reduced if prisoners were not so bored to begin with.

In this thread, @kingpotato and I were talking about things we would like to see improved on in the next Elder Scrolls game, and we got to talking about how in Skyrim, you can't fight effectively on horseback, and your "warhorse" doesn't fight unless you dismount.
How the devs didn't think to make your horse ... useful ... in combat, is beyond me.
What are some stupidly obvious things developers have neglected in your favorite games?

Aliens has been my favourite since I was a kid. Freaking love it! That said, lately I’ve been gravitating toward the first Alien. Both are 10/10 classics. Cheers for commenting!

Alien 2 or Aliens with James Cameron, for me this was the first Alien movie I saw as a kid and it has been the best. I saw the first Alien movie until a few years ago actually, also very good but I prefer the second one.

DEAD SPACE!!!! Like, seriously EA. What does a boy need to do to get something Dead Space-related on current gen platforms? That one's definitely top of my list, along with Silent Hill. But Konami doesn't care anymore so I think Dead Space is a wee bit more likely to make a return in some shape or form.

    Nice list.
I agree it would be cool if there could be a combat system that goes beyond pointing and pushing a button over and over. And boss diversity (and enemy diversity in general) would be a big help.
I can’t believe I didn’t think of mentioning that thing about fighting on horseback … it is beyond ridiculous that your horse won’t fight unless you’re off of its back, lol. It’s supposed to be a warhorse.

I wouldnt do it to be honest, even if I was good at it (I'm not) I would rather work on something productive, dont get me wrong I love videogames so much as any other gamer but for me its just a hobby not a lifetime career.

Serious sam had some of the biggest monsters I played in the game. And those monsters were strong enough that he was supposed to hit them from a distance. For example third game has this huge boss which you have to kill by flying.

Ratings are a bit okay for the AOT. Some anime gamers loved it though. Not sure if you like NI NO KUNI 2. But here's one gameplay to check if you feel like playing it.

I love HP Lovecraft’s writing. Only played one game that is directly based on Lovecraft. Here’s my review of it: Call Of Cthulhu (2018) https://wegotthiscovered.com/gaming/call-of-cthulhu-review/
I know a lot of other games are influenced by Lovecraft, like Darkest Dungeon (which is amazing), though.

What specific elements would you like to see improved in the next Elder Scrolls game? For me:
Consider fixing the awful physics (not going to happen, but it had to be said). Please make it possible to call followers who have wandered off/gotten stuck, instead of making us go search for them. It would be nice if you can “detach” from a horse so that it won’t always appear when you fast travel. I’d like to be able to arrange items in my house without them constantly flipping upside down. Why do they do that? A more complex set of factions like in Fallout NV would be good. More depth to followers with more follower-specific quests would be great, even if that means fewer follower options. Being able to marry or make any follower a steward would be an improvement. So would being able to change followers’/family members’ attire. I’d like to be able to donate more than 1 gold to poor people. What would you like Elder Scrolls 6 to fix?

I hated Wind Waker. It was just way too cartooney for me. I wasn't a big fan of Twilight Princess, and never even counted Skyward Sword as an actual Zelda game. I haven't played BOTW yet either so I can't consider it on this list. Majoras Mask was good. A pain in the ass, but still good. Ocarina was a really well designed game, and loads of fun. Link To The Past is high on my list as one of the best. Zelda 2 is probably the most difficult in the entire series, and doesn't really keep to the story. But my all time favorite is the one that got the series started. The original Legend Of Zelda on the NES. It was the best they have made. There are other titles in the series that are great, but they just can't match the original. In my opinion no Zelda title ever has or will match or even rival the original.

An open world survival horror game akin to Deadly Premonition/Silent Hill would be something I’d be interested in writing/developing as I love the genre.
