The DLC's for The Witcher 3, Skyrim and Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds are examples of great DLC's that add substantially to their base games at a very reasonable price.

But by far best value DLC I have ever seen isn't technically a DLC but a mod.  It's called "Legacy of the Dragonborn" for Skyrim.  It's basically a treasure hunting mod that adds:

A Museum to Solitude that has a unique display point for every unique item in the base game, DLC and even some other mods. Lore friendly new skins for most unique items and books. Hundreds of brand new lore-friendly items to find, collect and display. Multiple new fully voiced NPCs. Multiple New dungeons and questlines. A new Player home in the Museum. A new guild with a questline new skill tree's.
Long story short it's about the size of and adds as many if not more hours to the game as the other 3 DLC's combined.  The cost, absolutely nothing!

I know exactly what you're talking about. More often than not, I'm thinking about CTB. Obviously I haven't done it. Yet. When I get into that state of mind though, I don't want to do anything.

killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel in What’s the most controversial video game opinion you have on any topic?
That's more what I was meaning. I should have explained better. Games with religion that are pushing an agenda. Like trying to force conversions. Or some other bullshit. Sometimes I leave out crucial information to make my argument. Psychological issues, and brain damage from a number of things makes a hell of an impact. But either way, I'm still a bitch.
I have to argue against number one. Sure life like graphics are great and often make the game. Imagine RDR2 with SNES era graphics. But some games should keep the old graphics. We have games like Cuphead, Blasphemous, Shalnor Legends, Snake Pass, and many others that are super popular. What are your thoughts there, if you don't mind me asking?
With 2 and 3, I agree 100%. You hit the nail on the head and drove it in with one strike.

Some sports can be used with the VR and other means. And also the driving simulation is possible with the game and can be used for license exams.

I like with the GTA games that you could play golf, and do other things. I played a fair amount of the B-ball game in San Andreas. And I did golf and tennis in V a lot with friends. Darts as well and a few other things. That's where GTA online shines, the activities you can do with friends adds a lot of fun.

Sooner or later people have to learn that just because you're new, does not mean you're special. Experience is the hardest teacher. It gives the test first and the lesson second.

If the passengers are the ones who're playing, then it shouldn't be a big deal, but there some few things that might make it dangerous, sometimes the driver might want to do a sneak peek or sometimes passengers pay attention to something in the road that the driver might not pay attention to

killamch89 reacted to Withywarlock in Skyrim’s color palette
I will confess, and should've mentioned this in the previous post you're referring to, the Special Edition does wonders for colour palette. The sky is a nice deep blue, the trees and leaves and grass are all brought out and the clothing is somewhat more striking. It's just that in the original game the low contrast brought down the mood of the game, which wasn't low in really any sense so it was just this strange juxtaposition.
While mods allow for such things to be resolved I still don't understand how Bethesda went from the grey Arena to bright Daggerfall, to sometimes colourful Battlespire, to the clownshoes Redguard, to brown Morrowind, to the exploded paint factory Oblivion, ending on Sludgeville, USA otherwise known as Skyrim. Maybe a significant portion of their ~400 employees consist of dogs who can't see many colours? That might also explain the bugs.

In all honesty, I would have to give a lot of my favorites this nomination. So many games from the old systems open up really boring. It's hard to even get into them at all. But if you can push through the first hour or so then the game gets to be something you enjoy the hell out of.
FF8 is a great example of this

Good on them, I say. This is the only sort of hot-blooded passion I'll excuse (and encourage) in video games, where art inspires not death threats and ranting, but awareness of a real world problem and the drive to fix it, even if it's just donations to those doing the work. Well done!

killamch89 reacted to Crazycrab in Games that are harder on console (or PC)?
The Sims and most other games with that kind of RTS isometric design are better suited to a PC interface.  The experience on console can feel a little cumbersome.  In case of Skyrim and similar games (especially from Bethesda) you can use debug consoles and/or mods to bypass certain issues or make the game easier.

Beyond those two situations and bad ports aside (like Arkham Knight on PC for instance) I can't really think of any other situation where playing on a PC (or a console) makes the game any easier.  For the most part it doesn't make any difference.

After my save was erased, I decided to replay it with cheats lol. I don't think I did it for long, as I eventually just got back to playing it normally. So I guess I can say I replayed it pretty fast lol.

I read about this the other day and honestly, we have been hearing about gamers in the news recently and not for very good reasons but this shows the good that gaming can do in terms of bringing awareness to real-life issues and teaching us about the history of other countries. What do you think of this?

You've suddenly triggered in me a very vivid memory of crawling on my hands and knees across the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout New Vegas trying to get to a vendor because I can't afford to just drop loot on the ground, but raiders are shooting at me from all directions and a popup keeps flashing in my face telling me, "You are overencumbered and can't run!"

I'm a big hoarder of health items, because in every game I will inevitably get to a boss fight that I just can't beat for the life of me, and I will need every health item I can get. And even then it might not be enough. Every time I play Dragon Age Origins, I always save the Broodmother boss fight for last so I have practically the whole game to stock up on health potions. Luckily they don't take up inventory space and you can theoretically get your hands on an infinite amount of them.

What i hate, is that sometimes i finish games with unused items which is really annoying, i mean, i keep saving them to use them when i really need them, but i found out that it's not worth saving them

killamch89 reacted to staticradio725 in How do you keep frustration at bay?
I set the game on the easiest difficulty level. And then if I still somehow encounter a boss I can't beat (it happens), I ragequit and look up the ending to the game on YouTube (because it almost always happens towards the end of a game). Looking at you, haunted bulldozer in Alan Wake!
My Fallout 4 player character who currently has a rainbow of pixels instead of a face would agree with you. If he could talk.

Yeah, as interesting as a game boy game can be, considering the limitations.
I don't look at ebay for pricing, as the prices are heavily inflated because people think they have something worth more than it really is. If I really want to grab a game boy, I'd look at thrift stores, game shops that specialize in the sale of retro games and consoles and so on. You're bound to get a much better deal, unless they look at ebay and price that way. First key, don't use ebay to find your price. Use something like pricecharting, as you'll at least get a better picture of what it's going for on every site.
