I thought it was nice of Konami to just drop a new game for free. It shows they are trying to make up for their past misdeeds, and all people can do is forgive or forget about the ill-fated Hideo Kojima era. Unfortunately, yeah. So many gamers are still throwing dirt at them, some 10 years later after Konami chose to cancel Silent Hills.
I really thought as a game with no cost, it was well worth the long wait to have this spin off Silent Hill: The Short Message setting up exciting future titles. You definitely feel the spirit of P.T. in the game as you are caught by the monster and sent kicking back to the last checkpoint. Sure, it technically isn't really about the town of Silent Hill any more in a sense, because the story is set in Germany, I believe. But all the same, other games have taken place elsewhere in the timeline in the past as well.
Silent Hill is back... with a vengeance!

For those who didn't get to follow up on the PlayStation State of Play. Have fun! It was an interesting one. 15 games were shown but unfortunately there was nothing about upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but from update, it's going to be having it's own reveal show on February 6th, 2024.

I don’t think this will ever happen. The company is making a lot of profit and the brand is mainly known for GTA so I think they’ll focus on different versions and remakes for the time. But, who knows?

So State of Play is tonight, I believe. Rumours indicate that Until Dawn is returning, but the Silent Hill series ought to be shown too.
Konami really hasn't been putting out a great deal of anything of note on the games, despite the remake of 2 and other projects being announced in the fall a few years back. But they decided to slag off that 'Ascension' garbage recently with an amusing, "It's trauma" merchandise line. So even Konami knows it totally sucks balls. And that's certainly saying something.
Maybe be careful as to who gets to use your IP the next time, huh?

You are 100% correct and insightful about other classic medium made into a game. It’s hard to pinpoint where they are wired differently. I think they are trying to please the masses so much that they forget about the foundations of simple fun. Just total…fuckin…simple….fun…

This is absolutely how I call it and I can sure as hell tell you that they wouldn't care so much about any of those 80's or 90's shows, movies, or even books if they're made into a video game. I would say that they are wired differently from us.

There are some video games with strong fanbase. No matter how bad the games gets, they'll still play it.
Although, it's not smart on the part of developers to intentionally made bad games because they are obviously going to kill the games reputation especially if it's an ongoing game series.

I would have easily gone with Unreal Engine because of how good most of the games it have been made it came out but my preference is shifting more to Unity. This is because of the level of access indie video games developers have with it in making some of their games.

I’ll tell you, the 2000’s and up generations really fucked up the 80’s-90’s. They have zero respect for the holy grail of classicism.

I actually have a YouTube channel at the moment but it's not something I would call a gaming YouTube channel because it doesn't have any video games on it. I have thought about turning it into a gaming channel but I'm yet to make the decision yet.

Heatman reacted to CoryAR in Do you get the same excitement video games used to give you as a kid?
I think I got more excited by games as a kid than I did as an adult, but I don't play as much variety as I used to. The primary games I play are Pokemon GO and Call of Duty. I still get frustrated when I'm not doing well at a game or I cannot complete it. I used to bang my head against the controller as a kid when I couldn't win, now I just often verbally speak my mind when I'm not doing well in a game.

Hi @Heatman, nice to see you again.

As good a game as Hogwarts Legacy is, it's difficult to see what category the game had a real chance at winning. The design and music were directly taken or at least heavily inspired by the movies, so it wouldn't have made sense to be nominated for anything related to those and let's be honest, there were better RPG's and story-centric games this year. I'm not saying the controversy surrounding JK Rowling had nothing to do with the game's lack of nominations at TGA, but it there were both better and worse games that did what Hogwarts Legacy did better, even if it was in only one or two areas

This is exactly how it's supposed to be because it's not worth it buying in on something that's not going to give you the value of your money. It's why I would like to wait for as long as it's worth the wait for it.

There was never a doubt that Amazon would get ahead in this sort of thing because they almost have their tentacles in everything.
It's a very good one for those that can access their services for such games.

If they are not careful, it's going to most likely get to the point it did for Activision Blizzard and they would be forced to sell off the company without even proper valuation.
It feels sad to see a gaming company like Ubisoft allow its policies to shoot themselves in the leg that are now struggling so much.
This is a fact. Even their CEO came out one time to say that all gamers should be out in support for NFTs.

I played Ghost of Tsushima for a very long time before I found out that you can blow some objects in the game to discover Easter eggs. It's a mechanics that's spread across all the game that wasn't even explained well.

Let me give you a little insight to all of them. Ip Man is about the invasion of China and Ip Man was a martial artist who helps the people and he fought the invasion army till he died.
Black Hawk Down is about a true life story of what happened in Mogadishu in 1993. It's a story of how a team of about 100 US Army Rangers went to the capital city of Mogadishu to capture two top lieutenant's of a Somali warlord.
Sometimes in April is about to genocide in Rwanda where millions of people were killed by two waring tribe in the country - The Hutu's and Tutsi's.
Both Valkyrie and Fury are about the second world war where plots are set to assassinate Hitler and destroy his Nazi troops.

What's funny is that one of my high school friends came over the other day and then another contacted me on Facebook about gaming with him again. So weird how that all turned out, especially seeing and responding to this topic.
But yeah, it's nice to get back in touch with friends. I might have to get back into gaming with them soon. 🙂

That's a lot of km per week and I'm glad you lost the weight. During Covid, I just did a lot of pushups, planks and bodyweight exercises to keep myself in shape in addition to the fact that I do have a very high metabolic rate so I didn't gain any fat. In addition to that, I do dry fasting once a week. I mean, I know I shouldn't be annoyed but the only thing I ever gain is muscle - I've tried to bulk already and totally cut back on exercise and I still didn't gain any fat and this is like 6000 calories for about 3 weeks.

In the first game, when you get to the Yellow Devil boss fight, you can use Elecman's ability, and then mash select to pause and unpause the game which makes the move hit a million times, making a super tough fight real easy.
In Megaman 2, almost every boss is weak against Metalman's ability, so get him first if you want to have an easier time.
In Megaman X, do Chill Penguin's stage first to obtain the dash boots as early as you can, it'll make the entire game tons more fun.
EDIT: Oh! The biggest tip I can give to anyone trying out Megaman games for the first time is, enjoy yourself. They can be pretty tough, but they're also really tightly designed for the mostpart, so if you pay attention to the layouts of the levels you can usually come out on top once you learn patterns and whatnot. And there's no need to play them in release order if you don't want. Play the ones you think look the coolest and see what sticks.
Man, I wish I could play Megaman for the first time again.

Heatman reacted to Kane99 in Game plots with bad stories but great climaxes?
I think it may be due to it being the shortest game in the series. Plus I don't remember, but didn't it have less collectibles you had to worry about? I know City and Knight had you collect a shit ton of stuff, so that makes it longer. Origins had the riddler trophies too, but I don't think there was nearly as much in City and Knight.
To me it just looks like much of the same, which is good and bad imo. Good in that it'll probably be easy to pick up and play whenever you want. Or bad in that it could not have changed enough to be worth playing. That's one thing I worry about the most. Because the Arkham series didn't change a whole lot in terms of gameplay, so if it's much of the same, it will be easy to get into, but may get boring quick.
I'm looking forward to the Suicide Squad game, because it looks so much different from the Arkham series. And looks like a ton of fun too.
