we had daily and weekly side quests on fortnite but i finally gave up trying to do them because i couldn't just go do them. i spent too much time trying to not get shot and then i'd either die or storm was on me so no quests accomplished. someone told me to try it in team rumble which was a ridiculous idea. i finally gave up.

There's already a thread Here on the Tokyo Game Show. It's best suited for discussion on the subject in case you haven't gotten a chance to see it 😊.

That sounds like so much fun. I love underwater anything. I've been into fishkeeping for over 20 years now (freshwater). Right now I have 1 big Oscar fish (very difficult fish to care for, everything needs to be just so) and one Betta. I love Bettas, always seem to have one. At one point, I had 10 of them, all lined up on my dresser in separate tanks, of course.

I got Skyrim and played it some and then just decided I wasn't interested. I don't like gory games.

    Kojima teased this:
    https://novicegamerguides.com/news/hideo-kojimas-next-game-teased-by-kojima-productions/

Doesn't tell us much of anything, but I'm guessing it'll have a custom character creator. That's my guess anyway. Or it could be someone with amnesia, and you have to figure out who they are and where they came from. But according to the article it could be the main character of his upcoming horror game starring actress Margaret Qualley. I'm excited to find out more.
Oh, and can't not include this:
RE Village Gold Edition and Resident Evil 4 trailers.

Yeah, most of them do it on purpose no doubt. It's a childish thing to do believe me but obviously most of them are adults in body and age but kids in their mentality!!

Yeah, even the lines in the song speaks great volumes. There's no kid in my neighbourhood back then that doesn't know how to sing the song because it was literally played everywhere.

There's one that I saw which was called Underwater Space. The gameplay is almost the same thing with interacting with fishes, sea horses, and exploring the entire ocean. It's super interesting.

You're right about him being a complete show off. He prides himself on being different from the rest which I don't see any essence of it. He could have used the money in better ways but that's not in his plans. Anyways, it's his money and no one is gonna dictate to him how to spend it. I call him iPhone freak whenever we hang out.

Personal two highlights for me so far :
Announcement of two new yakuza games and a release in the west of Like a Dragon: Ishin! or Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! as it was previously called. Microsoft who finally gets it and is starting getting more and more jrpg's and other more japanese titles on their platform, why are you only realising now that western players like their jrpg's, you should have realised that 10 years ago. Here is hoping a lot of these games get physical releases because yeah microsoft, people still buy their games on a disc in 2022.  Overall if anything is to be believed 2023 is shaping up the be one of the best years in gaming, well i'm sure a couple of games are going to be delayed but damn 2023 is going to be so much better then this year.

There are people using VR for mental health reasons. I hear it can help those with autism and other neurodivergent conditions.
I know someordinarygamers on YouTube has a video about how he slept in Minecraft for a month for his insomnia. And I guess it helped him sleep easier.
But yeah, I can see VR helping with many things including mental health. It could serve as a safe space kind of thing, like your happy place.

It also means creating multiple games for different choices. No game studio would ever greenlight that, unfortunately, because that costs unreasonable amount of time and budget. You might get lucky to get a really dedicated studio that devotes 10-20 years of its time creating multiple games for the choices of ONE single game, but I haven't seen such a game yet.

Final Fantasy is probably the biggest culprit on this list - I love Final Fantasy but I've always been annoyed with these freaking 15 minute movie trailers throughout the game that are unskippable and to make matters worse, if you fail, you'll have to watch it all over again!

Heatman reacted to killamch89 in What did you learn about yourself playing MMOs?
Not a lot that I didn't know already - I'm a massive troll and love mischief but I'm a good guild mate who'll fight to the end. Also, I don't tend to pick on weaker opponents and will help people along the way.

Hmmm. I want previous choices from early games in a series to continue in the sequel and not just stick to the default storyline and ignore your choice when the sequel is released. In other words, our choices should shape how the story unfolds in the sequel/s.

Getting caught up in lootboxes is the height of it for me when it comes to spending money on games. It's so sad that these guys go to any extent to have their way into gamers pocket and milk them so hard. It's one gaming practice that should be rooted out by all means.

I really hope he makes more of these. AI generators are a fun time, and now they're making somewhat competent reviews lol. I bet IGN would pay for it! 😄

I feel like most companies have already used bots for churning out positive reviews for their bad shows, so AI reviews don't feel like a new thing.

I used to pay quite a hefty sum for mobile games like FarmVille and other niched management games. They're so predatory, especially the latter, because their only "management" is to click a button and earn money in the game that way.
The only PC games where I got myself willingly engaging in microtransactions would be the dead game, Marvel Heroes 2016, but the microtransaction for that wasn't as bad as other games that use lootboxes, because I only paid for aesthetic items like Spider-Man's alternate costumes, where were a lot of fun because they came with different voice actors you might recognize from your childhood cartoons, like Christopher Daniel Barnes voicing the symbiote Spider-Man. That game was pretty decent, so it's too bad it died.

This is exactly how it's supposed to be because it's not worth it buying in on something that's not going to give you the value of your money. It's why I would like to wait for as long as it's worth the wait for it.

Years, maybe even a whole decade. If a game doesn't pique my interest, and I'm not in the mood for an Assassin's Creed game, most Steam sales drop wouldn't make me buy the game, even if it's just $20. Maybe if it's $2 though. I wouldn't mind spending $2.

As someone who works as a server admin, this stuff isn’t cheap to run.
I know you mentioned the price of games being $60, and the new consoles have jumped up to $70. It does suck if you want to play them day one, but like people mentioned earlier, you can wait for them to be on sale.
With older game consoles, the price of the games are more expensive if you consider inflation, and others were more expensive without inflation (and worse if you include inflation). The cartridge based home consoles didn’t really have a standardized price, and was dictated by what extra chips they had. $80 games were not that unusual back then.

Crying? not really but absolutely moved me was the Spec Ops White Phosphorus scene - especially in one of the clips a parent and child charred remains of a body hugging each other.

👍👍 Video AND song so awesome. Takes me back to the (very) late 90's/2000's.
It was Fall 🍃🍃🍂🍁 I believe when it came out. At least that's when they were playing it here in Michigan on the radio. Great blast from the past.
