Fallout New Vegas handled this about as well as any game I've played. A pure role play in that game does show you something about yourself. Some of the factions are a little more obviously evil, but most of them are not yin nor yang and have you can understand thier motivations whether you agree with them or not.

Do you actively avoid walkthroughs some or all of the time?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I followed a walkthrough published in a magazine for Zelda OOT and I will never make that mistake again, at least not for a first playthrough. I won't say it ruined the game, but it did take something away. I will look stuff up if I get truly stuck or of things get cryptic, but I try to avoid walkthroughs and they they serve me as a last resort. -
This is not my sort of thing, but this does look cool. It's nice to see these guys break out on thier own and work on a more passion fuelled project freed from EA's shackles.

This has, sadly, been a common occurrence even before this, like with Bayonetta 2 on Nintendo Switch. Worse, this is only going to become more commonplace with Microsoft buying up companies like Bethesda and Activision/Blizzard. I'm not saying it's not a pile of rancid bullshit, because it is, but complaining about it is not going to change anything.

"PC Master Race" isn't a joke, it's the mating call of insecure fanboys who don't even realise that they're comparing themselves to Nazi's. I hate that term with a passion. Do PC players like being called basement dwellers? No, so why should console players put up with that "joke"? Honestly, I'd avoid that term on VGR.

Horizon Forbidden West. Decided to start a NG+ playthrough.

The only thing that Skyrim on Switch had going for it was the fact that you could play it on the go as a portable version of the game, and the most critical word in that sentence was "had", as in past tense. With the emergence of portable gaming PC's like the Aya Neo and the Steam Deck, these ports on Switch don't really have that going for them anymore. So somebody at Nintendo and/or Bethesda thought it would be great idea to make the Switch port even less appealing than it already was by jacking up the price?

I simply do not trust these things. These play-to-earn are just another part of this Blockchain, NFT, Cryptocurrency and all that stupid shit. It's At the absolute best its a relentless grind on a crappy game to earn a pittance, but calling them a con would probably be closer to the truth.

Seasonal music is pointless. A shitty song with a halloween theme is just as shitty on Halloween as it is on every other day of the year. Likewise good song with a halloween theme is a good song and with listening to whenever. It's the same with Christmas music. However, this music useally falls on the shitty side because the concept is creatively inept Such music is made to lazily grab airtime year on year. Not to mention I'm a metalhead, so listen to music thematic to themes one would associate with Halloween all the time anyway, expect it's good music.

Welcome to VGR, happy to have you here.

It's mostly down to the size of the textures. Sharper, more detailed textures, especially when they're meant to be displayed on higher resolution screens, take up more space. And quite obviously the bigger tha open world, the more textures it contains and the more space it will take up. Open worlds will also take up more space because thier textures are going to be viewed at wider variety of angles and distances. Open worlds also will have more opjects with their own boundaries to be programmed in rather that just being textures that can't be interacted with.

This asshole isn't sorry for the ignorant and utterly disrespectful statement that me made because he believes in it even now. In his mind as a cooperate cake top anyone working in the games industry who isn't operating to make money regardless of the cost of integrety is, like he said, a fucking idiot. He was probably shocked that there was a backlash to that because isn't making money the whole and sole point of doing this? It's bad enough that he insulted game developers for actually wanting to entrain people and express themselve creativity in their endeavours, but the fact he was so surprised by the news that not everyone shares his perspective that video games only exist to exploit audiences and harvest money just shows what the cooperate culture is really like at the top in this industry. No integrety, no shame and no respect for the process of making games, the people who make them and especially not the people who buy them.

Side quests that felt like they belonged in main quests?
Shagger replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
In Horizon Zero Dawn, you want to do the side missions as it can and does unlock character interactions in the main game. There are also side quests like reaching Prince Itanam, Ersa's fate and The Nora's revenge that are a part of the main story as far as I'm concerned. -
Searching for an RPG - Any suggestions welcome
Shagger replied to LookingForGames's topic in Video Games
Please do so if you wish. You're more than welcome to post questions as well as your thoughts and opinions. -
I really don't think that should be a concern. Steam OS is Linux based and is already desinged to run on the same hardware as Windows, just like those (stupid) Steam Machines from a few years ago. And if running Windows on the steam deck does cause issues, I don't think it would be unfair to pass at least part of the blame onto the steam deck. I think you're 100% correct when you say that Valve will be assholes with your Steam Deck's warranty, but I don't think this should put anybody off doing this with their staem deck if they want.

So it turns out scum aren't trustworthy? What's the world coming to? 🙄

This little idiot, who clearly has some talent when it come to technology, at 17 may have just ruined his life for... what?

Somehow, I knew somebody would not read what I said properly. If you had understood what I said you would see that opening sentence from you is pretty much a summery of my entire statement. So I'm not gonna bother with a rebuttle. If my post isn't worth reading then I'm sorry, but why should I show the same respect in kind?
-
I said all of that in my first reply to you, so I don't understand why you need to repeat it as if we didn't know.

Iiterally said all that! Do you even what people post?

Trying to remove all the crap from the App Store to leave behind good games is like trying separate what is and isn't edible from raw sewage. Can't we just remove the app store instead?
