  1. The 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola is arguably the most infamous race weekend in the of history F1, perhaps Motorsport in general. Fatal crashes were of course nothing new in F1, for a long time they were actually fairly common. I think what made Imola 94 so infamous was a combination of the high profile of the one of the driver's involved and the fact that there had not been a fatal incident in years. You could even argue it become so "safe" that they were borderline complacent. First, Rubens Barrichello was injured in a high speed crash in the first practice session. Senna himself being one the ones that rushed to the medical center, making it there before even Barrichello's team principal Eddie Jordan. The next day the real tragedies began. During Qualifying Roland Ratzenberger, a driver for the new Simtek team in only his Third F1 Grand Prix Weekend lost his front wing and crashed into the barrier after going down the streight just before Villeneuve Corner at nearly 200 Mph. He died from his injuries becoming the first driver to killed in an F1 session since Riccardo Paletti at the 1892 Canadian Grand Prix. Despite the whole event looking increasingly cursed the race weekend continued: There more issues pretty much from the moment the lights went out. First JJ Lehto from P5 stalled his Benetton on the grid and ended up getting rear ended by Pedro Lamy's Lotus. Both driver's were fine but debris from the crash flew into the grandstands injuring 9 spectators. This brought out the safety car for 5 laps. Then on lap 7 at Tamburello, the unthinkable happens: There is a bit of dispute about what exactly happened and I will discuss both but first I'll go over the details that are not under dispute. Ayrton Senna driving for Williams qualified on pole, after the earlier incidents he continued round the track until lap 7 on the exit of Tamburello Corner where he crashed into the barrier. A piece of the suspension assembly punctured his chassis and hit his helmet rendering him unconscious. Marshalls rushed to the scene followed shortly by the medical car and it's doctor, the late Professor Sid Watkins but there was little they could do. Senna was air lifted to hospital but pronounced dead several hours later. At the time Tamburello was a very fast but pretty straight forward corner. It's not the sort of place you would expect even an amateur driver, let alone a 3 time world champion considered one the most talented to ever it to make a mistake. It had to be some other external factor(s), and this is where the contention comes in. It was discovered that the steering column in the Williams had snapped. In the official report it is claimed that this broke at the impact with the wall and the cause of the crash was the floor bouncing into kerb on the inside of the corner causing the car to launch forward uncontrollably into the wall. However, others have always insisted the steering column broke before impact, was the root cause of the crash and Williams covered it up. I'll let you judge for yourselves: Even after this Imola 94 wasn't quite done being Imola 94. The race restarted then ten laps before the end Michele Alboreto's Minardi lost a wheel in the pits which rolled down injuring 4 mechanics. A fitting end to a fucking perfect day... RIP Roland Ratzenberger RIP Ayrton Senna Well if you made it through all that thank you very much for reading.
  2. Where I am things are getting better. Their still sold out at Amazon and GAME but other retailers like CEX and Argos have them in stock fairly consistently now. Even resellers are down to retail, the days of them PS5 being scalped for 2 - 3 times seem to be in the past.
  3. Well neither of these controllers weigh even close to that much, maybe 200 - 300g. More to the point the I have to agree with @Yaramaki, the PS3 Sixaxis controller felt flimsy and cheap. The PS3 was originally going to launch with this monstrosity: But this "Boomerang" design was unsurprisingly panned by journalists who got their hands on demo models. In response Sony, no doubt pressed for time, just took their 10 year old DualShock design, hap-hazardly added motion controls because Wii and made out of plastic so thin it was transparent! Sony did eventually improve on the design with the DualShock 4 then later DualSense but even a PlayStation fan I have to admit the Xbox controllers were better... Unless your talking about the Duke 🤮:
  4. You already admitted that when you first posted this topic that you had to little to no idea about what was going on about this whole situation. Now your claiming to know what that "every rational person was like, oh shit." 3 years ago when this guy was first elected? FUCK OFF! You don't know what you're talking about, yet your claiming to what "every rational person" felt a continent away 3 years ago when I suspect you probably didn't even know who this guy was until a few days ago just before announced his resignation. Then of course you googled exactly what you wanted to find which was some examples of him being "Republican" and of course found it. I could do same thing by googling "Joe Biden Homophobic", and guess what I found! https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/06/30/joe-biden-gay-waiter-comment-draws-criticism-seattle/1612588001/ It was comments made years ago, it's not in context whatsoever, and I'm obviously ignoring a bunch of other results that are contradictory to it but fuck it! It still proves that Biden is homophobic, right? Yet you claim to know that "every rational person was like, oh shit." despite having no fucking idea why Theresa resigned or why Boris Johnson was chosen to replace her. Just to let you know I'm not going to do your homework for you this time, if you really wanna know look it up yourself. I hope so to, unfortunately the one thing that US and UK politics have in common is excessive bickering. We'll wait and see.
  5. Well may Allah bless you! Have a great Eid al-Adha!
  6. British politics is not the binary two party system that's in America. There are multiple political parties which different ideologies that sit in different places scale of left and right. Boris Johnson is outgoing leader of the... I'd say middle (not extreme) right Conservative Party, but most of the scandals and controversies around his tenure have had very little to do with his politics. If we kept every other factor the same but instead Boris Johnson was the leader of the rival left wing Labor Party it wouldn't have made any difference. So for your sake please don't embarrass yourself by turning this into a "right wing" conspiracy because it really isn't. It's been a long line of I'd say relatively minor scandals, at least when compared to America. There's two that are significant. The first was "Partygate" when he and his ministers were hosting parties and other social gatherings during the pandemic when everyone else was in lockdown. This lead to confidence vote in June which Boris Johnson just barely survived. Then there's the latest one with the (now former of course) Chief Deputy Whip Chris Pincher. Before Pincher was appointed by Boris Johnson to this position he had been accused of sexual misconduct. I should state for the record I don't know if he was guilty but it doesn't matter. The issue that has now forced Johnson and the majority of his cabinet to resign is that when accusations where recently published in the tabloids Boris Johnson claimed that he didn't know about them, then a letter leaked out that proved that he did. He reportedly even made a joke about it once saying "Pincher by name, pincher by nature!". Personally I kinda liked Boris, even though I don't agree with his most of his politics. He's certainly a character, witty and charismatic. I thought "Partygate" was kinda petty and blown out of be proportion. I agree that he and his ministers should have been following the rules instead of chucking back pints in Number 10 but I know lots of people that didn't especially at Christmas and New Year. The latest one with Chris Pincher does bother me more, that's him just streight up lying to our faces and that's not acceptable.
  7. They made two announcements with 2 separate titles, neither of which seemed to fit in with the timeline of Horizon (I posted the details earlier). From what I understand it's not two separate shows but I could be wrong.
  8. I'll give you the basic run down. After the success of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag in 2012 , Ubisoft made a decision that seemed to be a great idea at the time which was to flesh this aspect out into it's own full release. Naturally to execute this the contracted the studio responsible for the naval combat sections in both Assassin's Creed III and IV, Ubisoft Singapore. Although the studio had been around for a few years developing remakes and parts of other original AAA Ubisoft titles, they had no experience of being the lead developer on new game. Despite this there be was initially a lot excitement for this project. You can check out the videos and associated articles for more details but long story short the project was mismanaged. It's gone through different directors, different concepts, multiplayer, single player, RPG, Live service and so on. It has been delayed, ripped up and rebuilt multiple times and in my opinion on the only reason it wasn't cancelled outright was because to much time and money had already been invested in it. This could have been something special. Technically it could still be and we'll have to wait for the final release to pass judgement but we have seen in the past when development is a misery, the end result isn't good either.
  9. I thought I'd share the full presentation from earlier today: It's looks fine here, but given the troubled development and this game being be basically ripped up and rebuilt several times I have my doubts to say the least.
  10. Nope, I addressed your concern with no aggression at all: Then you choose to respond with a pompous and dismissive statement that's not only completely false, but exposed your true motive which was an attempt to turn this into some kind of debate about monopolies and capitalism and derail my topic. So yeah, I was pissed and the only thing I'm sorry about that I nearly got in sucked myself.
  11. If you've watched through Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 and your favourite character is anyone other than Eddie Munsun, your an imbecile.
  12. In terms of TV and Streaming services there's Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, Twitch, Peacock, Google/YouTube, Local Commercial TV, License Paid TV, Cable/Satalite TV, Catch Up TV, Premium Sports, WWE Network, Box Office, News Streams and more. In terms of gaming there's PlayStation, XBox, Nintendo, Android, Apple, Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Steam, GOG, Green Man Gaming, Origin, Uplay, Epic Games, Battlenet, PS+ (PSNow), Gamepass, Amazon, Netflix, Facebook... Yeah, so clearly no choices at all. Now the more obvious part of your nonsense has been blown out of the water let's continue. I'm getting sick of this, not every fucking business deal is a fucking monopolistic conspiracy. The reason you keep seeing that way is because that what you want to true. Your a sensationalist with this obsession with making a drama a company does anything, no matter how large or small a splash in the ocean it is. I'm no fan of capitalism and I've certainly called it for it's shady bullshit multiple times. The difference is I pick my battles, rather that shooting at the first sign of somebody sneezing. So lets just get this streight. By licensing some of their intellectual properties to different publishers for TV serials. SONY IS DOING THE COMPLETE FUCKING OPPOSITE TO MONOPOLISING! The very idea of monopoly is to create an environment where none of your rivals can't compete. If Sony were monopolising they would only license out their IP's to one company, most likely themselves. This is a rare example of dealing fairly by selling their licence's while still allowing business rivals to complete. An example of a monopoly would be with EA Sports who (at least did) have exclusive licence deals with sports bodies like the NFL and FIFA so that they little to no competition. Am I getting through to you! While plenty of others around don't seems to mind topic's they started going of the rails, I would rather have it locked. So this is the last I wanna see this mentioned here. There's already a thread about monopolies that YOU started @Reality vs Adventure so can rant about this nonsense there. Here I expect you to post something on topic or at the very least factual, if you can't, don't.
  13. I don't see how Amazon and Netflix offering game streaming as part of their service whilst producing shows based on third party IP's constitutes a conflict of interest or a monopoly. You could also make those about a supermarket that Starbucks in it while also selling their own brand coffee. If anything it's the opposite to monopoly and conflict of interest since it gives consumers more choice.
  14. This is great! I think I mentioned in a thread a while ago that I've always wanted to play this, but because it's never been released on PC or newer consoles used copies are hard to find and tend to be expensive.
  15. Anyone else watch the last two episodes of season 4 .... WOW! What I didn't like: It seemed retcon allot of things in previous seasons which are kind of diminishing. Robin is no closer to getting laid. For the first few episodes Eleven is a FUCKING IDIOT! Seriously, they have spent the last couple of seasons with her learning social skills and for the early part of this one they just throw it out the window. What was awesome: EVERYTHING ELSE! Especially that final battle!
  16. I think one thing that people oddly don't seem to take into account is that Africa is a big fucking place! It's a massive continent that's got significant geographical, economic and political diversity. Most of us ignorent European's and American's are aware of that there is a clear difference between France and Germany but seem to assume little to no difference between Uganda and Kenya despite that geographically they sit pretty similar. I'm a subject of this ignorance to but I am able to observe the attitude thay many people observe that the problems that affect "Africa" apply to the whole continent rather than individual countries and regions. South Africa is a very well developed region that actually DOES have some game studios like Clockwork Acorn, and there are others that starve in poverty. If we want to address problems in "Africa", I think the first thing we need to do is address them as problems in Uganda, Rawanda, Angola, Zimbabwe, Somalia........
  17. I'd ban all prices that don't end in a 0 or a 5. Nobody wants copper's!
  18. Tipping isn't isn't considered rude, but it's definitely more optional. It's nice if you do but you wouldn't be considered a dick if you didn't.
  19. The full hike on Everest takes about 6 - 8 weeks, the round trip from base camp alone is 19 days.
  20. Standing in line. Before: After:
  21. I'm not interested in how anyone says I'm not interested when they wanna say I'm not interested without saying I'm not interested.... I would just tell I'm not interested.
  22. 3D TV's were a fad that I'm glad are pretty much dead now. Nobody wants to sit in their living room wearing those stupid glasses! VR is a better platform for 3D content in my opinion.
  23. Well the high end gaming PC is the one that would obviously be worth the most so I'd go for that.
  24. I'd say the original Dungeon Keeper. It had a really dark and twisted sense of humour about being the villain that I think was lost in later releases which were much more cartoonish.
