ZandraJoi Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 (edited) Anybody here collects records? I should back up for the younger generation, any here remember records & record players? lol My husband collected some for awhile. I know my parents still have some from when I was a kid. When we looked thru them recently, we realized us kids didn't take good care of them, so they wouldn't be worth much today. Anybody had a record that skipped at a certain part & you learned that song WITH that skip only to find out much later, that was not part of the song? We had a few like that lol Namely some Christmas songs that were played often duing the Holidays. Edited August 18, 2021 by ZandraJoi
The Blackangel Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I remember listening to them before cassette tapes came out. I had Michael Jackson, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Poison, Stryper, and a lot more. But when cassettes came out I pretty much quit listening to my vinyls.
killamch89 Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 My parents used to have a collection of records but moving over the years destroyed most of them and I'm not sure whatever happened to the rest.
Sharon Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 I once had a small collection that my parents gave me when I was a kid. I remember listening to 45s like "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and "I Wrote The Songs". I also played Kenny Rogers' The Gambler album repeatedly. It's still one of my favorites actually. I no longer own a record player though. I ended up donating mine a while back.

Jayson Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 I don't collect them, but they'd be a cool hobby to get into. I enjoy the artwork and the different sound they produce. However, I'm not sure if the sound is better. What do you all think? Well, I know that a vinyl captures some sounds in recording that a CD or Mp3 doesn't get. Well, that's what I think I read.
Head_Hunter Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 I mostly enjoy music on my phone, due to my phone being my hand bag, follows me anywhere I go.
Justin11 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Music is life, I play music almost all the time when I am having much free time. Playing music on more advanced device like the home theater or compact disc is a tremendous one due to the high quality sound it offers.
Clasher Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 My dad is such a music lover, I didn't collect records but he did , So grew up around a lot of music and records from the classics to new.
