Think real gambling will come to gaming soon?

If video game companies come to agree on that and bring gambling into video game, such will simply ruin the progress of the video game industry.

It's already ruined and if they officially labelled lootboxes gambling, they'd face lots of consequences because they'd be breaching rules in relation to gambling industry rules such promoting it to minors.

Lootboxes are basically gambling but they can't label it as such or else they'd come under legal implications for promoting gambling to minors. Also, they'd have to follow the regulations that gambling industry does.

It's actually why it's most likely going to be easy for the to get into the actual real gambling in their games since loot boxes have laid the foundation.

You're right with your comments. If they do, they've simply contradicted with the rules of gambling by introducing it to gamers below 18. Because gambling is simply an adult game and not for kids.

Exactly, that's the legal part of the case that gaming industry would have to deal with and it's not going to be easy to wrap it up.

There'd be tons of backlash mainly from parents and politicians usually bow to pressure so those companies would be in some serious legal issues.

I know I do gamble, but it wouldn't still make sense, to see gaming feature gambling. Such will expose more people into risk taken especially for the underage, which is not healthy.

They would definitely work something out to deal with underage getting into the betting or gambling on their games.

Yeah, that's the only way they would be able to survive the lawsuit that would be initiated against them by all sources.

It's only time that can tell what's going to happen in the future with gaming and real gambling.

If they have started talking about it, they are definitely going to work on doing it. It's something that's very peculiar with gaming companies.

Yeah, they simply can't look past anything that's going to offer them the opportunity to make more money off the game and their customers.

I doubt we'll ever see "real" gambling on games consoles, even more so with the recent goings on in the world of Sports, and both Sony and Microsoft have always been rightly reluctant to allow and/or certify it.

It feels like we already have the closest we're going to get with microtransactions for more chips, and no way of exchanging those chips back for "real" currency.

These will turn to shock you in a way that you wouldn't expect it to be so. Remember how they started with loot boxes, the same thing would most likely happen again with real gambling.

For now, it's just between making use of loot boxes and microtransactions. If full time gambling would be introduced later, it's only time would tell but there is always a possibility of that happening.
