Kane99 Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 Do you think that one day, VR headsets will get smaller? I suspect they will eventually, especially with advancements in tech. But I don't see it happening for quite a while. Anyway, how small do you think VR headsets will get? Could they one day be just glasses or even contact lenses?
The Blackangel Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 It's possible. Hell it's possible that VR will eventually become some kind of button or whatever that you just stick on the side of your head and you're launched into the game. There's no telling where it will end up.
skyfire Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 I think at current rate the best we can get is spec size. But in near future who knows there could be lens. or even a simple trigger near ears that could turn on or off to login to metaverse.
Reality vs Adventure Posted December 16, 2021 Posted December 16, 2021 No way, it's gonna get bigger and bigger. They will have an entire gaming chair with a head bubble or possibly even have your bed as a dome.

There's no telling where it will end up. That'd be something. I could see us getting close to contact lenses that have screens. Not sure how much that'd cost companies, but I think it'd be cool. 28 minutes ago, skyfire said: I think at current rate the best we can get is spec size. We can even use it on the go. I think that'd be crazy fun! 24 minutes ago, Reality vs Adventure said: No way, it's gonna get bigger and bigger. Yes and during initial phase they would lead to lot of accidents too. But as they get mature they can give options for our consciousness to choose where to put priority. Crazy possibilities.
killamch89 Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Of course it'll get smaller. decades from now it will probably be reduced to sunglasses and eventually will be implanted into our brains.
skyfire Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I think brain implants would be scary to be honest. I would never wish to go that way.
Empire Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Maybe this... https://ktla-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/ktla.com/morning-news/technology/htv-vive-flow-vr-headset-hands-on-review/amp/ If phone VR isn't real VR, then I'm questioning whether this actually goes over the line or not. Certainly it's a grey zone. At least until hand tracking...
Justin11 Posted July 10, 2022 Posted July 10, 2022 Anyhow the developers choose to make it, it will still attract customers. What matters most is the quality, features, the kind of feelings it can offer to people who walks through it to have fun.
Lens Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 I think VR headsets will definitely get smaller and more compact as time passes by because we're already seeing advancements in its designs. I could see VR headsets becoming more like a reality glasses.
Button Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 I was even thinking that one day we'll even see VR contact lenses. But for now, I think we'll see a lot of reductions in size and weight, which will make it more comfortable and portable.
