StaceyPowers Posted August 25, 2022 Posted August 25, 2022 What are some games where there is dialogue and it is aloud, but it is all in another game world language, so you read the translations off a screen? Two examples I can think of are No Man’s Sky and Stray (which I just started).
Empire Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 The Last Of Us has great dialogue even though i find the story to be incredibly boring. Also, for a JRPG Persona 5 was really well done.
Kane99 Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 I prefer my foreign games to use the language they are known for. So if it's a Japanese game, I want the cast speaking Japanese. I can read subtitles no problem. But I hate hearing American voice overs for games and movies alike. Heatman 1
Justin11 Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 I saw that in 'Stray's trailer when I watched it. I used to see word translation over at 'Winning Eleven soccer, that was made in foreign language but with English subtitles. That's the game I've played made outside of English language.

Exactly how I feel about this because with them using their core language adds more originality to the game which makes it whole. The subtitles makes it very easy for you to catch up with the discussions which I don't have any problems with reading.

I understand we all have different reasons for liking a storyline in any game.

Do you have any problems with what they have done with The Last Of Us Part II in terms of gameplay and dialogue?
killamch89 Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Most of the games I can remember that do this are typicallyJrpg's. Heatman 1
Heatman Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 @ClasherThere was a game you shared its trailer sometime ago that's japanese or Korean language. There's no English version of the game but it's completely translated in English. I just can't remember the game's name. Please help out.

I really want originality in video games , you can't have a video game set in a Japan or Brazil and the characters all speak English let the indigenous languages be spoken and maybe translated in the subtitle to whichever language you desire.
Scorpion Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 That’s a great concept! Other examples include "The Witcher 3" and "Dark Souls." The unique languages add to the immersion!
