Would you rather be buried or cremated when you die?

That's a really valid point - @Crazycrab right it in your will that the skull goes to @The Blackangel if anything happens to you and you pass away.2 points -

At this point, I'm not sure what it is myself. We were led to believe that they would be developing a new Silent Hill game only for them to come out and say they weren't when they were asked many times in the past and they could've said no.2 points -

Why are retro games trending?

Those of us that grew up on them that still play them talk about them often, and fondly. Classic gamers typically have no interest in going beyond a certain point, with an exception or two. People hear us talking about these games, and their curiosity gets peaked. Some check it out to figure out what the hell we're talking about. Others check it out to laugh at us for playing 2, 4, and 8 bit games. Whereas they're playing lifelike games. It's what brought out the flashback craze. Curiosity by modern gamers. The big 3 heard about the curiosity, made a mini system with roughly 30 games installed on it, and sold them. It's a shameful money grab, but it made them big bucks anyway. Obviously the NES flashback runs better than a 35 year old NES, but those of us that are 80's children and grew up on systems like Atari, Colecovision, and NES often prefer the old ones for nostalgic reasons. And the majority of us want to puke at the mere thought of a flashback console. I'm a classic gamer because those are the games that I have always enjoyed and developers weren't afraid to be unique with their games. Games like A Boy And His Blob haven't been seen since. There is no game on any disc system where you feed a blob jellybeans to turn it into things you need (ladder, umbrella, etc.) to help it get back to its home planet called Blobonia. Blaster Master had a couple piss poor sequels that flopped miserably. There were the classic beat 'em ups like Double Dragon that you don't see anymore. They have largely (if not completely) gone the way of the dodo in exchange for games like Mortal Kombat and other fighting games. The individuality and uniqueness is what made those games so special. Nowadays everything is a sequel. There's no individuality, and developers are scared to take a chance with something new and off the wall completely different and unique. That is largely part of the reason classic gamers are turned off by the new and current stuff. I won't lie, I play on my Switch constantly. It's great to have something that powerful that is portable. But I also play on my Game Boy. When I'm home I do play RDR2 a hell of a lot. But I spend an immensely greater amount of time on my NES, SNES, and N64 than I do on RDR2. That's about the only modern game I even play. I have 2 or 3 others that aren't on Switch that I play, but that's it. They're mainly system exclusives (GoW for example) but I will never give up what I grew up on. One thing that I look back on fondly is that I saved up literally every penny I could get to buy myself a SNES. I wanted one so desperately that I saved up for over a year. And when I finally brought that thing home, I couldn't get off of it.2 points -
Gaming good for mental health

I'm 39. The disease is Muscular Dystrophy. In my case, advanced MD. There is no cure, as it's a genetic disease. Both a persons parents have to be carriers of a faulty gene for a person to have MD. There are medications to help try to manage the pain, but they're not always effective. I have some pain meds that I only take in extreme cases like oxycodone. I also have a medical marijuana card. This is a lifelong disease. In my case it was adult onset, as it wasn't even noticeable when I was a kid. It just got progressively worse over the years, to the point now that I'm wheelchair bound for the rest of my life.1 point -
I think those questions are too personal to ask mate. Just show your care and not ask what wasn't given to you already.1 point

I've been wanting a human skull for a long time, but they're so damn expensive, that unless I save up for a couple years at least I couldn't afford one.1 point -

I think at first, it is a trailer, but then the opening level may be playable. I believe they have a site that covers their plan. https://www.blueboxgamestudios.com/1 point -
Games assuming I miss important information

You mean the red and black one that got banned for some reason? If I remember correctly it was 1997 right? At least put some kind of narrator like the one they had in DBZ just to make it sound epic or something.1 point -

Do you have a childhood possession? E.g. bear or blanket

Yes I do. It's a little bunny rabbit. I named him Sleepy Bunny when I was a young toddler. It's the one possession that I would run into a burning building to save.1 point -
Would you rather take a guaranteed $100,000 or a 50/50 chance at $1,000,000?
killamch89 reacted to The Blackangel for a topic
I think the loss of the million would be less devastating than the thought going through your mind "If only I had taken the hundred grand..." That to me would be more devastating, because the hundred grand was a guarantee, but you threw it away for bad odds at getting 1 million. And with that $100k, if you invest it right, you can easily turn it into more than 1 million. That amount of bank can grow quickly and massively. So you wouldn't really be missing that million for long.1 point -

So true and I can kill loads of NPCs there and still be called a hero and not be called other names such as Hitler, Stalin, a psychopath or a maniac. The NPCs don't even seem to mind.1 point -
Moments you react just like the character you are playing
StaceyPowers reacted to killamch89 for a topic
Nope - that's just normally human reaction. I do that all the time during fighting games when my character is about to throw a hit. It helps me to feel involved lol.1 point -

In games I don't even want to interact with real people. Games should be my escape from reality. Add real people to it, and it is utterly ruined. I don't have a problem interacting with people in real life, but I don't initiate contact with strangers unless absolutely necessary. In games however you are lead to believe that you stand to gain by interacting with NPCs. It'd be great if some games were more realistic in this regard, as in you might even get in trouble by initiating contact with the wrong NPC.1 point -
Why are retro games trending?
StaceyPowers reacted to killamch89 for a topic
Retro games bring a lot nostalgia with it especially for us older gamers. In addition to that, getting into retro gaming is significantly easier than modern games and they don't have any microtransaction systems so that also makes retro games extremely appealing.1 point -
A game is interesting and most people aren't. A game doesn't judge and most people do. For me it's aggression when someone is face to face talking to me. And it's funny because I try to turn or look away, and they think I'm not listening and move back right in front of me. And it becomes even more aggressive and I face the other way, and still they get in my face. It's weird. When I think about putting myself in their shoes, and I see them look away, I'll naturally try to change my tone or make the conversation more interesting or just say something funny. But to get back in front of someone while I'm talking and to pretty much force eye contact is just not in me to do unless I'm angry and arguing. For the most part, people are just lame. lol. No humor, no personality, nothing interesting. Blah blah blah. So don't beat yourself up over it cause if people can't get your attention, then it's them.1 point

That's both very vague and an opinion, not a fact. Saying MFS is easier to play with a M/K because of the complicated and varied nature of the game is fair enough, but why that doesn't mean controllers are difficult to use in general. I find M/K is better for RTS games, some MMO's and certain simulation style games like MFS, but more awkward and limiting compared to a controller for games that are stealth heavy and/or in 3rd person and/or primarily focused on melee combat. I'd never say "Controllers are better because they works better with Horizon Zero Dawn and Metal Gear Solid.", I'd say I find they're better for those games. I've banged on about this many times before because I just don't get that logic. The statement is obviously not true, it's a matter of personal preference, so why say that?0 points
