  1. I feel by the time I do get a PS5 or series x, the generation will already be near done. So I figure I'm just going to stick with my gaming PC that I got now, and forget the consoles altogether. Well, maybe not the Switch, because I would still like to get one soon. But maybe I'll just wait until the next iteration of the Switch comes out. I hope they make one with better hardware.
  2. Yeah the games crash in 83 was a big one. As for any other years, that's a tough one. Honestly, maybe currently with how tough it can be to get one of the new gen consoles. But it's not the worst by any means. 83 seems like the most logical one to mention. I can't think of any years where gaming was stagnant or had trouble. Maybe around the time the 360 RRoD occured maybe, that was pretty rough time for gamers.
  3. Yes, Mister Mosquito was one game I was thinking of. I remember seeing ads for it and wanted to pick it up, but never did. I remember watching a playthrough of it, and thought it was hilarious. I've been wanting to actually check it out for myself though, as I'd like to experience it. The good life sounds familiar, but I think I'm thinking of a different game where you play as a dalmation. I forget what it was called, but the brief time I played it, I really enjoyed it. I can't say I've heard of Bee Simulator though.
  4. Who still plays 2K20 with 2K22 out now? 2K20 was a glitched mess and would always close out on me. I purchased it for like $3 used on steam, and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it. As for favorite finishing move, it's the move where you go to the top, and just flapjack on your opponent. I use it with my created wrestler who is a bit on the chunky size. Always thought it was a funny move to do. I don't remember what it was called though.
  5. I second 2K games, they've kinda fallen off in recent years, especially their shady practices with their MyTeam modes or whatever they are. Or the microtransactions and all that nonsense. They're pretty much like EA 2.0 in that regard. Hell even WWE 2K22 has MyFaction and I think that has microtransactions and other nonsense. I haven't touched the mode yet though. And yeah, I will forever hate EA for getting the NFL license for like 20 damn years. I miss me some of that NFL 2K, but of course, 2K would probably ruin it somehow. Yeah, to my knowledge EA had a good start. But I think after a while they started to get too greedy. I don't know what changed, maybe it was the ownership, or the people in charge, but they really destroyed their image. I don't think they can ever rebound.
  6. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the Harry Potter franchise, and I can't see myself really playing any HP games. I'm just not into the franchise like so many others are. The premise of this game sounds cool and all, give it to me in a different universe, not having to do with Harry Potter lol. I haven't heard all the details on what she's been up to, just that she's said some dumb things about trans people. Though I'm sure it's pretty bad. She has no say in future Harry Potter movies or games, as the company that owns the rights now, don't want anything to do with her. She may have created these worlds, but she is no longer in control of them.
  7. There's just so many good 8/16 bit games out there, that it's honestly hard to just pick one. So many classics. I said SMB3 for 8bit myself, but there's so many other games I'd want to include, like Batman, The Legend of Zelda, SMB1 and 2, and so many more. We'd be here all day if we had to pick a bunch of our favorites lol. But yeah, Blaster Master is pretty decent. I never beat it, but have been meaning to check it out again.
  8. idk, I feel you could easily beat the game without having to do that. I know I did because I know I didn't open nearly most of the satchels. This currently playthrough I'm on, I'm taking it much slower and am building Arthur's stats up. My next step is going to be fishing/hunting to make more money. From what I've played in the beginning, it's fairly easy imo. I've made money with ease, even without doing most of the missions so far. But, I did play it once before, so I know what I'm doing. So I can see a newbie having a little trouble.
  9. Blur was another I remember hearing about, but I never bothered to check it out. From what I remember, I think it reminded me of Burnout some, and maybe that's why I didn't check it out originally. It sounds like a ton of fun too, so I should probably check it out finally. How many games did they make in the series? Or was it just Blur and that was it?
  10. Honestly not sure. I'm not one to usually catch plot holes unless they're plain and easily visible. Most games if I don't know what's going on, I just don't pay attention to the story that much and instead just try to have fun with the gameplay. I wish I could think of something that had plot holes in it, but I'm drawing a blank.
  11. Honestly, I'd say FPS games, or maybe anything strategy heavy like real time strategy or something similar. FPS games are tough at first, but you should be able to get used to them fairly quickly. But those RTS games, or the ones where you have to build a world and actually think, yeah those can be tough to learn as a newbie. Hell I'd say I'm still a newbie in that genre and I am awful at them. I like simple, and simple isn't usually tough for a newbie.

    Stray

$30 on Steam, probably the same for consoles as well. Not a bad price point, since I thought it would have been a full price $60-$70 game. Thank goodness it's not, because I don't see it being worth that much. $30 is not bad and works imo. I kinda hope they add modding abilities to this game. I bet people could do some crazy stuff in it.
  13. Maybe disorienting in terms of having to remember the layout of an area to get through, but I don't think I ever felt disoriented otherwise. I kinda like when an area in game changes a lot, makes the are fresh, new and different. I like games that involve destruction as well, and if you can cause havoc to an area and it changes, it can sometimes be fun. I like how it's done in post-apocalyptic games, where you can change the world with a nuke or something. I think you could do that in the fallout series to some extent.
  14. To be fair, most games you probably don't want to be the NPC, or a side character. Main reason why, is because you could be the victim, could be the villain and could be just there to do nothing. But any games where you can kill an NPC, I don't think I'd want to be in that world. Yeah sure it'd be fun to some extent, but I imagine you'd tire of being killed in game all the time. Or, you get tired of doing the same things in game. NPCs don't usually do much, so I imagine it'd be fairly boring as well.
  15. I feel they tell background stories the best. Considering games like Dark Souls, which has so many stories scattered throughout the world. It sometimes gives you another story on top of the story you're already getting. I'm not too big on reading a lot in games, but some games do it well. Plus, it's just a way to tell a bigger, grander story without having to show tons of cutscenes.
  16. That's not that long away, I'm happy to hear it's coming out so soon. Just around 4 months to go, how exciting. I still need to play the last one, but I think I'll do that as soon as it's put on sale on the Epic game store. Been meaning to get it, but been overly cheap the past couple months. I wonder if this too will be one of the game of the year contenders.

    When Your PC Dies

I need to mess with my sister's laptop soon, as she's dealing with ransomeware. Literally locked her laptop up, and made it look like she needed to call MS. I haven't had time to go over there to look at it yet, but I'm going to dread trying to solve it. I hope I can try to solve it. And on top of that, my nephew just got a new gaming PC for his b-day, so I worry that he will get viruses on that and cause issues there too. But my PC is doing just fine. But I am always paranoid about problems. Last week it shutdown on me out of nowhere. I thought it was a goner.
  18. Yeah Twisted Metal seems like it should have gotten a reboot/remake by now. It's been a long time coming. I mean, it looks like we're getting a TV show before an actual new game. I would've thought we'd get a new game in the series for the first time in forever, but it looks like they have to make a show instead. I remember Death Race. And yeah, it's partly what inspired Twisted Metal I imagine. It would make perfect sense.
  19. I wish I read books more often. Last time I read a book was at my old job as a phone support rep. I hated it, but I was able to read the first Game of Thrones book. The Fire and Ice series I believe it was from. Anyway, I wish I read more books these days, because I had a great time reading books again. But now days I just play games, watch movies and tv and that's it.
  20. They do have the market on handhelds, but that market has opened up a bit, because now we have the Steam Deck which could become the next hot thing, if it hasn't already. Especially for the price. Anyway, they will have the market for a while, but stuff like the Steam Deck coming out, may put a dent in things. Which I think will in turn result in Nintendo having to up the ante and make sure to produce devices with better hardware. Nintendo has to eventually adapt their hardware to match somewhat. Right now they don't have to. But I feel like in the coming years they will have to, especially if we start to see more handhelds like the Steam deck coming out.
  21. I think it's safe for the most part, but it's really about whether you are able to stay in it for long. Like, you don't want to sit in a VR headset for days. Though there are some who actually do that, and they seem to be fine. I know Muta from someordinarygamers (Sorry if I spelled his name wrong) has slept in VR minecraft because he has insomnia and can't sleep otherwise. And hey, if it helps you in that way, awesome. But I know some people can't play VR for too long before they get a headache or motion sickness. I myself haven't had the chance to play in VR yet, but I really want to. But that's the thing. I don't know if playing for too long will bother me, or if it'll be easy. But I want to try.
  22. I have my share of controllers, headsets, and connections, but that's about it. I have an Xbox 360 Guitar hero guitar, I have a Dj Hero DJ thing, and that's about it. I wouldn't mind getting that adaptive controller for the Xbone and new consoles. Might be interested to see if you can use it in other ways while gaming.
  23. Oh yeah, I imagine it's causing issues for people. And in turn it's pushing people to get an Xbox instead. Which is to be expected when stuff like this happens. Still though, Sony has made their money on it, so they're going to be fine. It's just us who has to wait patiently as they figure out to stop scalpers. But, I don't think they can be stopped at this rate.
  24. Actually, there is a console, well I don't think it qualifies as a console, but those AtGames Sega consoles they released back in the mid 2010s. They were complete garbage. Even playing actual carts on it was a pain. I still am surprised AtGames were ever allowed to produce garbage like that. I'm glad they aren't really doing much of anything with Sega anymore. I hope they stop making crap.
  25. I really enjoyed Skyrim, but I couldn't handle the multitude of menus with The Witcher 3. It was just too much for me to learn and grasp and I just couldn't do it. But with Skyrim it was a bit easier for me. Though there was a lot that I still never got, I did enjoy my time playing it. Though it did get frustratingly hard at times.
