  1. When it came to storing games, a lot of the time we'd get rid of the original case a game would come with. This happened a lot for Atari, NES, SNES, and other cart based games. Once games started coming in jewel cases, or other plastic cases, people started to keep the games right in those. But, how did you store games back then? For my CD/DVD based games on PC, I would just store all of my game discs in a CD binder. For cart based games, I didn't have many with the box, so most of them are just the cart and I stored them on a shelf with my cased games. Some have a plastic standard case, and others have the plastic Nintendo sleeve you get with the game. Did you ever have a binder of lose disc based games?
  2. EA knows exactly what they're doing when they throw these gambling mechanics in games. I don't understand how they can think they're free to do this. Lets face it, most people who play sports games, are young, so the change of them spending money on loot boxes is very real. As well, those loot boxes don't usually provide you with anything. It's gambling any way you put it. You can coat it with a bit of paint by calling it a "Surprise Mechanic", but it doesn't change the fact that it's promoting gambling and needs to be stopped. I honestly don't care if loot boxes exist, but only in the sense of the game world and where you can only use in game currency to get them. In game currency that is made in game by playing the game. Not from spending money. EA knows what they're doing is gambling, they just don't care because they think they can get away with it. Well, it's about time more countries jump on them like this.
  3. How does this sort of stuff keep happening on release dates for popular game? It looks like Ghostrunner doesn't look so hot on the PS4. The title is a little deceiving, as the article doesn't state the game is unplayable, but more that the graphics and textures aren't good. All the article says, is that there are reports of PS4 Pro owners having major visual issues with the game. Mostly the games textures look pixelated because of a resolution problem. There are also reports of gamers experiencing framerate issues and lag. It looks like games are getting too powerful for our current gen consoles. Soon enough it'll just be the new gen consoles getting all the good stuff. Read article here - Twisted Voxel
  4. Yeah, they clearly weren't ready to make it to this release window. Now we're waiting another month to get it, and who's to say it'll actually come out in December. They could always delay it until 2021. I hope it's ready for release this time, but if it happens again, I'm pulling my pre-order until I know full well it's coming out on a certain date.

    VR Chat

Does anyone here use the program/site VR Chat? It's like a community chat room in VR where you can use your own custom avatars. I've seen many videos of people playing the game and it looks like a ton of fun. Does anyone know if it's required to have a VR headset? Or could you jump in as an avatar and play with mouse/keyboard? I would love to give it a shot, but if I need VR, I won't be able to. 😞 Here's their site - https://hello.vrchat.com/
  6. Do you guys have any videos of cheaters in games getting caught cheating? I saw something on facebook recently where someone mad a mod for PUBG where people who hack are either tossed out of a car at a certain speed. And another hack was made where if the hacker/cheater tried to pick up a downed player, they would accidentally shoot the downed player. Here's the video: https://fb.watch/1n3g_qv6vN/
  7. This game is coming out tomorrow, who's picking it up? I just started downloading the demo for it, as it's currently available on steam. I figure if it's any good, I might buy it. I've seen it getting great reviews already. Gamespot gave it a 7, IGN gave it a good review, but I can't find any scores. Do they not do score ratings anymore? Techspot gave it an 85, and I saw another review on Facebook saying a 95, so the reviews are all over the place.
  8. Has anyone here played Surgeon Simulator 2? I hear it has multiplayer, or 4 player co-op where you can work together to perform surgery. I watched some gameplay, and it looks like a lot of fun, but also looks tough. I remember the first game being hugely popular for quite a while, and the second one seems to be doing quite well these days. Have you guys played the new one yet?
  9. Does anyone here collect any of those old VCR games from back in the day? I had a wrestling VCR game years ago, but I don't think I had all the parts and we tossed it. We did get it from an old thrift store, so you know you never end up getting all the parts when buying from one. Anyway, do you have any VCR games in your gaming collection? I'm thinking of starting to collect them when I do see them, as they seem to be pretty cheap. They're essentially board games that utilize a VHS tape to run the game. I think I had something like this:
  10. I'm getting a Far Cry vibe from the graphics. Not bad. I played a few of the Test Drive games, never played this one though. Looks pretty! I might have to check it out. A game I want to talk about today is Shadow of the Colossus. I have the PS2 version and still have the save file for it somewhere. I have like 8 more bosses to get through before I beat it. I'm considering getting the remastered version at some point. Did it come out for the PS4? If so I should get a PS4 soon. 😄 But yeah, this game was so huge for the PS2. The boss fights were some of the coolest I've ever seen. I wish I completed it on the PS2, but maybe one day I'll revisit it, or like I said, get the remastered version with probably better controls. I wish they made boss battles as cool as that these days.
  11. The difference is that most of the time someone streams a game, it helps sell that game even more. If you can get a famous twitch streamer streaming your game, that could potentially sell your game right there. It's partly why so many games become popular, like Among Us, which came out in 2018. Before that, it was just a forgotten game. But, people streaming it brought it back to life, literally. Without streamers showcasing it, no one would have ever given Among Us another look. The same can be said for that new ghost game Phasmophobia, which to me looks like a cheaply made game with low replay value, but people are streaming the hell out if it, in turn increasing the sales of the game. I get the point that it's the same as playing a movie, but in reality, it also sells the game in the process. Lets me honest, do you think Phasmophobia would be popular if no one was streaming it? Hell, I think if most video games stopped streaming, we would hear a lot less about them, especially the indie games that thrive because of streaming. I would understand if the streamer was just playing the game all the way through without any commentary. If it was just the whole game + story uninterrupted, than I believe that is wrong. But, I think for the most part, most people who stream, do help sell the games in the process.
  12. Maybe I need to utilize those share options more. I have a bunch of fun clips on Xbox live that I'd like to showcase one of these days. But I don't know if Facebook is really used much on Xbox. Unless I am missing something.
  13. Genshin Impact is becoming my favorite game of the year so far. I'm having a lot of fun playing it. The story may not be my thing, but I am enjoying the combat and traveling the map. I got Control recently too, but haven't played it. That might be on my list as well.
  14. I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah you gotta be super careful around them, the slightest movement of the card could cause corruption. It's a pain to lose those save files. I cheated my way through San Andreas because of what happened to my save files. Really made me mad, because I was near the end of the game too, so I had to re-play everything. Which wasn't bad I guess, because I still had fun, but man was I an angry boy lol.
  15. Remember this game on the PlayStation 2? I believe it was one of the first launch titles for the console. I remember playing it around the time it came out and not having a good time with the controls. As well, I wasn't into the driving and the shooting mechanics. Shooting was a pain at times. And I remember you had to like lean on a wall to regain health. Or maybe I'm thinking of another game. Anyway, I just remember it being a tough game, but the graphics at the time were kind of ahead of their time. But those controls hurt me.
  16. What are your thoughts on the folding smartphones that are starting to come out now? I heard some good and some bad with it. The good is that the screen is nice and clear, and when folded, you have an outside screen that works like a regular smartphone. Otherwise the bad side is that the phone is mostly plastic, including the screen, so you're more at risk for scratches and other damage. As well, one reviewer stated that the hinges catch sand, and other debris easily, so that may be a problem. What do you think of them? They look cool, but for the money, the quality doesn't seem all there. Do you think it would be a good gaming tool? Or would it be best suited for other things? Images from this article here.
  17. If true, could this mean the next Xbox will have VR capabilities down the road? I imagine it'd be fairly easy for Microsoft to get a headset made. The power of the Series X would be strong enough to handle a VR headset. I would love to see VR done for Xbox as well. I think it's part of the future of gaming, even though I think it's super costly. I think we'll have a lot of options available to us. Read more about this here - Gaming Intel
  18. Social media is a part of most of our lives, and inevitably video games will support more of them. They already support posting to Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites, and I imagine more companies will start supporting it. I imagine now with the new gen consoles too, sharing is going to be a bigger picture thing. They're making it easier these days to make recordings of your gameplay. But, does anyone actually use these social media share options? I've maybe shared a few things to twitter and facebook, but it's not often. What about you?
  19. Have you ever lost save data for a game you've been playing forever? Or maybe it was save data on a memory card, that had many game files? I had a problem come up for one of my PS2 memory cards. I had saves for MGS 3, GTA San Andreas and more go bye-bye. The reason was, because of a PS2 demo disc for Vietiful Joe. If you played the demo for this game, it would erase any memory cards in your PS2. Thankfully I only had one memory card in. But, it had my save for my nearly finished file for San Andreas. I I still have the disc, but I wrote on it with permanent marker to take out your memory card when playing. I remember Sony did a program where they sent you a free PS2 game for this blunder, but I was too late in taking advantage of that deal. I think I could have gotten Sly Cooper too. Has something like this ever happened to you?
  20. I've been mining on that for around a year now I think. Not sure if I'm wasting my time or not with it. I have like 1510 so far, but haven't been mining in a few weeks. I was getting annoyed with the daily reminders to mine, and I ignored that for a while and they stopped sending me notifications. How much do you have saved up so far? I sure hope Pi can be used towards video games and other tech items, or at least redeemable for cash.
  21. Yeah, I heard something about that too. Makes sense since I always craved mac and cheese when watching The Lion King lol. It was probably because of the their color, since it's so close to what mac and cheese is. lol But yeah, I see that. Other cartoons made me crave food. They could have at least tried to come up with a creative design. It just seems lazy to me.
  22. I could see realistic VR being used to cope with problems in life. The thing with VR, is that you can't connect with the people in it. You can speak and move around, but you can't touch or feel anything. I think for that reason, I wouldn't be able to take a VR world as serious. But, for those who want an escape from life, I can see it helping them a lot. But not being able to touch and feel your VR family will in turn probably make things worse imo. But, it's clear VR has some problems, but it also can be used for good. I suppose we'll see what comes of VR in the next 10-20 years or so.
  23. I don't really see VR turning people into addicts though. I can see a few people here and there, but from what I hear, wearing a VR headset for extended hours isn't easy on the head and neck, as well I know people tend to get headaches if they're in for too long. I can't say how it is yet, as I have never got the chance to use VR, but I imagine it does get tiring to wear that headset after a while. I suppose the possibility of this happening in the future is high though, especially if they can make future headsets more lightweight.
  24. Well, it can be completed story wise, but I believe it has like endless quests or something. When I played I had quest after quest. I never even beat the game, there's just so much to do. I remember my brother beat the story, but there's more side quests and other stuff you can do afterwards. I really need to replay it soon and actually finish the game.
  25. From the PS1, to the PS5, which one has the better launch lineup? Personally I feel the PS2 had the best launch release, imo at least. But I grew up more with the PS1 and PS2 anyway. I didn't own a PS3 for a long while and I didn't get a PS4 this gen. Anyway, which PlayStation had the best lineup of games at the time of their release?
