  1. There was the Nintendo Classic that was released a couple years ago that had all a lot of those old games already included. But maybe only the older folks or collectors got it. I don't know how far back you mean by retro because ps3 can be retro now that the ps5 is out. But for me retro I guess is atari up to somewhere around Nintendo 64ish or ps1ish. If ps5 came out with a game that included many of those classics from different Nintendo systems, then it could be revived. Even modern sequels don't give the old games justice, I don't think. But if you were to judge let's say a new Super Mario on the ps5 and the ratings were low, then the young generation will judge all the Super Mario to suck. So in that sense I do think people will forget about it. But if a new Super Mario came out that was a big hit, someone will feel inclined to take a look at older ones. Bloodstained series had a release that was very 'retro' Nintendo. And they had another Bloodstained game after that was more 'modern'. The Trine series also in a way revive the classic feel with modern sensory appeal. So as games come out like that to compete with newer Transelvania or Zelda, then yeah the older will get forgotten unless Gyromite or Kid Chameleon releases a new one in the next few years. I always hated giving mouth to mouth to the old Nintendo cartridges.
  2. I was wondering if always turning the ps4 off after use damages anything over time. If you keep it rest mode, how long? Forever?
  3. Ok, I was a little off in Black Flag. But same thing. Here is the video:
  4. The real meaning of racism is to hate another species and there is only one human race. Real racism is clearly shown in The Witcher 3. Geralt is mutated making him a witcher and a different species from the humans. The villagers in almost every town he goes to says rude comments about him behind his back just for being the way he looks and who he is as a witcher. But I don't know of any game that actually tackles racism of any kind whether it be species or ethnicity. I was playing AC Black Flag the other day and a black pirate on the ship was talking to Edward. Edward asked where he would go (I think referring to if he had some riches). The black pirate said that he wasn't safe in Africa, wasn't safe in the Americas, and the only place he was safe was right in his own country aboard the ship as a free man. And Edward called his crew the citizens of the Jackdaw (ship).
  5. Necronomicon Best Weird Tales is a great recommendation! That would be an awesome place to start while I sit around this fire; in the woods; in the dark; with glowing eyes; faint screams; howling; snapping twigs; slithering sounds in the dead pine needles. Oh why not do it right. Wouldn't mind giving the game Call of Cthulu a try, but I want to read about the lore first and develop my own images. Then it would be cool to compare that to a video game. I have seen Lovecraft Country on tv recently and if they have similar monsters and such, then I have an idea what they are talking about in the book. But I might get curious and look up some pics. I briefed over H.P. Lovecraft's history and his political views, which would be interesting to see if any of it reflects in his writings. Granted it was a different time 100 years ago when his books were written, but some philosophical viewpoints don't change. In today's climate I wonder where he would stand.
  6. In Witcher 3 there are a number of cabins with cozy interiors of the old woodland life. I've even taken a number of pics to dream about it. Here at home I would throw down a bale of hay right in my living room floor and hang out drinking. That was in my hay days. I've seen some cool houses in RDR2 also. I find it kind of cool in AC Origins they would have small stone houses and sleep outdoor on the roof, or right on the floor with no doors or anything and just enjoy the life. So I like either a wood cabin or all stone and open air.
  7. For my ps3 I get used, for the ps4 I got all new. I don't feel like looking at pics to see if disc is good anymore. And most sellers don't show pics of used disc. I buy online; maybe it's different at GameStop or somewhere you can physically see it. For me, spending an extra few bucks is better than a long drive or dorito disc.
  8. Anyone know why my ps4 is shutting down every time I put it in rest mode? Keeps saying wasn't shut down properly and runs its check. I've read it could be the hard drive. Has anyone ever replaced a ps4 hard drive? It's not over heating or dusty and it's not the surge protector.
  9. RE7 did an interesting take on traps. Usually the Resident Evil games have quite a few puzzles to solve, and I don't really like puzzles. But in RE7 there is a trap that is a scary little puzzle he has to figure out. That sort of puzzle really took the series to new heights. There were other traps that were set you usually could see, and it brought a more cautious approach as I continued on. I thought it did well at first, but got a little carried away with all the traps which made me as a player sort of 'numb' to my surroundings and said screw it, I'm going through it. But not wise to do with limited resources to find. I like the movie series SAW where the approach to a trap is to torture yourself and others in order to get out. I haven't played SAW on ps3 because I read there were too many puzzles. But I like traps where you are caught and have to solve a not so hard gory puzzle to get out. Then of course there is always a pit you can fall into with all kinds of nasty shit only a madman can think of. And being pinned with your back against the wall and forced to pulverize a still kicking body over and over till you as a player becomes breathless and you say "God Damn Die already!!! Geez! What just happened?" RE7 had a decent take on that. The typical trap where you walk and set something off, to me is best reserved for military, spy, crime boss games. And magic traps for that genre. Want to hear an epic trap? Wolfestein II The New Colossus, the protagonist was caught in a house and lifted by a freakin helicopter where you had to do battle! Yummy
  10. I'm confused on the whole Lovecraft thing that you and @Withywarlock mentioned. I've watched Lovecraft Country on tv and really liked it. What are the recommendations of where to start as far as reading material and games to play? Are the games and books related at all? Do they have similar or different stories? Read first or does it matter? And what exactly is it all about and the lore?
  11. Yes, life is such a happy place when on Joy. Now wear your smiles everybody! I think I might hop into the Mood Booth and give this game a twirl! Survival, Germans, and Joy. My cup of tea.
  12. As far as graphics and good city environment fiction or a real city, what game do you think is top of the list? I haven't really played many games like that except apocalypse and destroyed cities. But I'm curious about beautiful intact cities. Spiderman and Batman come to mind which I never played. Have you played or seen videos of some nice looking city environments?
  13. The volatiles in Dying Light are nuts! They come out at night and super hard to kill. So either run or hide. And when you run, you can hear them right behind you. I have to give credit to the big zombie hordes in Days Gone. It's scary when they spot you and they all chase you. Your stamina runs low often, so you can't run too long. And you obviously don't want to be on your bike and create noise to draw them. As far as cool looking, the closest it is to looking real is pretty awesome for me. Monsters that look like humans freak me out. RE 7 did a good job. But to have zombies in the most real sense like in hazmat suits, other first responders that didn't make it, in worker uniforms, regular people in zombie form revealing how they may have died in the first place. Ever watch the tv series Z Nation with all those cool types of zombies? That's what I love to see.
  14. That's a cool combination to finish in the year. My winner is AC Odyssey. I know I've mentioned it many times, but the game freakin blew me away in all its details in everything! And I still haven't finished, but it's ok because I want it to keep on going. It's my go to game. Witcher 3 is easily the second. And not just 2020, but probably top 2 games I played in all.
  15. I actually think battle royale would be fun if you were good at the game, but what prevents me from that and any multiplayer gaming is internet. Internet plans and speeds I think are a deterrent. Is that what battle royale is? Or does it not require internet and you play a bunch of AI. At least in multiplayer wifi is a problem. Usually in satellite internet you are allowed only a certain number of gigabytes to use a month and I run out quick just in regular use and not gaming. Back in the day when I had cable high speed internet with unlimited use then I would have given that stuff a try.
  16. I think the bigger pandemic is mental health issues from leaders and communities alike spitting bigotry and paranoia. A virus may be easier to develop a vaccine, but this mental health plague is gonna lead to far more deaths. I mean we literally had a trump appointed person to lead the CDC who was acting schizophrenic and spewing conspiracies who had to be placed on leave. This is not normal folks!!! Never allow it to be normal. Quote from In the Mouth of Madness: A reality is just what we tell each other it is. Sane and insane could easily switch places if the insane were to become the majority.
  17. OMG: I looked it up. Why? Why did you have to corrupt my head? Now I have to repress this memory.
  18. I haven't seen Like Stars in the Sky. I can see how movies need a story or fantasy to sell, but that sort of thing where couples are always in a big house and financially well off are even in movies that aren't romance. To me it just sends a message that simply isn't real because most people in the world don't have a house. No matter if it's a scary movie, comedy, or action, people are manipulated into thinking that successful lovers are wealthy. That image is shown across the spectrum and it kind of leaves out the majority of people who have relationships without the bling. Or maybe the message is intentional. Hollywood trying to sell America as if everyone has all the luxuries. Or maybe sell the image of the middle class which keeps dwindling. I'm probably looking too far into it. I automatically roll my eyes now every time I sit to watch a movie and it starts out as another young couple who has everything. And apartments are always a crime scene shoot em up drug deal. I don't live in an apartment in case I sound envious or something. But the portrayal of relationships in movies is repetitive and a joke.
  19. I looked up prices for the ps5 on eBay and current bids are at around $700-$800. I haven't even seen the ending price. I don't know why someone would be so desperate to get it at that price right now and not wait for the next batch. I've been using eBay for my collectibles for a while and haven't had any problems that either the seller didn't fix or eBay refunding me. You have to be cautious if the seller has too few feedback, or many negative feedbacks. Always look at their selling history and pay attention to the item details. Don't assume anything if it isn't mentioned. Be wary of not enough or not very good pics of the item. And electronics especially, make sure the seller offers refunds or buy the warranty. Can't stress those things enough. I do understand that some sellers don't offer refunds because some buyers may try to scam them and want to return a similar item that wasn't purchased from them.
  20. You might want to look back at your cards and see if you can complete a set or something. Doesn't hurt to hold onto some items because long down the road if you got kids or grandkids you can pass things down to and you will be surprised the value. Plus it is always awesome to look back at things you had.
  21. It's never easy. And people always assume that another always has that choice of what they put in their body, in a way it's true, but that's before even acknowledging that a person didn't have the choice of things that happened to them in the first place that inevitably drove their psyche to substance abuse. Walk through this dungeon with me. Take my hand. And if I fall, sever it and lead on. Don't look back. You will never get that image out of your head when the demons shock my soul in everlasting torture; crying in pain without a sound. Just keep walking. That's how I see a dungeon. It's more of a mental state of torture with added monsters. No paddy cake in the park. It's got to leave a scar on you.
  22. Ouch! Hope you didn't invest too much in them. That's the downside though having games like that you can bring places to play with friends.
  23. I think most love stories desensitize what love actually is. In so many cases they rush love and make them out to be a couple of sluts. What message does that send to young adults? Love is fast and do the deed quick as you can. It's perfectly normal. Now don't forget to put this protection on when you go to prom. Bye bye now. Sex ed is over. Movies always cheapen love. And they always assume it's ok for someone to put themselves in situations where they could cheat with another person. That is never ok. Movies degrade loyalty. Do you notice love stories always take place in a wealthy suburban home? As if everyone owns houses. So that setting makes it seem love is unreachable if you are an apartment dweller or an urbanite. And even then, they show a wealthy person in a high rise. Where is the reality in love stories? And all those reality tv shows like Bachelor, where they have the fanciest dates in beautiful places in the world. I would like to see a date at the Olive Garden and a walk in your local park. That's real. No matter what beautiful environment or wealthy treats, things are only as good as the company you keep. Those THINGS don't make love. YOU do. No matter where you are or the things you have. And even in Twilight which many people love. Once again love is cheapened and seems unreachable. Does a man have to be a mysterious vampire with powers? Money, power, looks, fame; the evils of so called cheap hyped up love.
  24. I'm playing Alien Isolation with you! It's pretty good so far. I recently had my real first encounter with the alien and it stabbed me in the back running away. Its pincher was protruding right out the stomach. I ran 2 seconds before it got me. Well, at least I know this is the real deal now and not some shoot em up. How is that Outlast? I haven't played any of those and it is actually for sale at the playstation store. At least 1 and 2 is.
  25. So much gore and torture you can smell it through the tv. Walk by recently used torture devices with matted insides some of which are still dripping. And that dripping never stops. You can always hear it. Faint voices of screams that are on its last round of echoes. The sound of chains dangling in the silence from an unknown breeze. Hot inferno in one chamber, and cold ghostly chill in another. Bones and limbs laying around as if kicked to the side like garbage, or fallen from a cart of bodies. Growls from creatures that are somewhere, and every turn you anticipate the worst. Cold stone walls and hooks dangling from ceilings. Big roaches and rats scurry. A maze you can't get out, with endless sights of death to see. And that is all just the surface, till you go down another level. You might as well be in hell. Because your soul is now forever changed. Hallucinations has you tormented, making you a raving lunatic. You find yourself naked on the cold bloody floor, weakly crawling as each breath is the last. Mad demons laugh at you all around. The world is spinning. You finally can walk and stumble around delirious. Head spinning. Bodies dangling. Axe chops. Chops. Then you make it to a quiet chamber to collect yourself. And the exit is not a door, but a psychological puzzle you have to solve in order to escape the dungeon. And you then wonder if any of it was real. Flashbacks haunt you. You begin to think you are dead. Turns out you never made it out of the dungeon, and that quiet room was just a teaser. Now you have to run, cause the monsters are there for real. And you run not knowing where you are going, just running through the maze. Hiding, running some more. Then you wake up and it all seems like a dream. Because it is. You are still in the dungeon after getting knocked out. Now you are strapped down. And the torture begins. Non pain torture first. And you have to figure out a way to get yourself free and run again.
