So far I've got Mafia, Sleeping Dogs, and Watch Dogs Legion. I want to try some of the older GTA, Saints Row, and Watch Dogs. I'm really enjoying the change of scenery in Sleeping Dogs and the beautiful Hong Kong setting. Once I finish Mafia, I plan on playing Mafia 2 and 3. A lot of these games are remastered for the ps4, but some in the GTA series I might settle for the ps2 and ps3 version. And if I go the way of ps2, then I might as well play True Crime. I've played Godfather, so I might try Godfather 2. There is another fun looking game called Total Overdose I'd like to try. I don't know how many games I'll be able to tackle because open worlds take longer to play.

That's interesting. I don't know the history of GTA; but I am now aware that GTA went dark in 4. It isn't as much captivating as 5.

Here is some music from Blood and Wine DLC while playing Gwent. Pretty music!!! It's nice to play Gwent with this music in the background. went

GTA 4 is a bit gloomy and depressing. It needs a bit of life in there. Brighten up the streets and improve the color. It seems every time I play it, it's always too dark. The driving mechanics slides too much when you brake. The fighting is completely asinine. But the story is pretty good. The game greatly lacks the humor GTA 5 has. So lighten it up a bit in every way if they remaster it.

My preference for games has dramatically changed already for 2022 because I've become obsessed with non racing open world driving games. I plan on broadening my horizons in that genre.

Do you feel like games guilt trip you?
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
Decision based games do that. Sometimes they don't give good options and you are stuck making a decision you wouldn't even make that results in a bad consequence. And then you feel guilty for it as if you made an immoral decision when you wouldn't have chose those only options. Some games have random encounters where you can help someone. I feel like a jackass just ignoring it. I'll never finish the game if I try to be a saint. -
The only hospital games I want to play are bodies rising from the dead

Do you keep your consoles box and manuals?
Reality vs Adventure replied to Kane99's topic in Platforms
I don’t know why, but I have both ps4 boxes and all wrappings for both my ps4’s and a ps3 box for my ps3. I think it looks better with a box in case you want to sell your console, but I don’t plan on selling mine. So why the boxes? I think it’s a hoarding issue. -
Phil Spencer wants to ban toxic players on all platforms
Reality vs Adventure replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
It's likely to get to that point especially the coming wave of intrusive abuse in VR that's going to get out of hand. And when it does they will look for solutions. I don't know how they will separate the network users in a household. If you think about it, allowing a bunch of strangers to gather online and hear each other chat like chickens is just a recipe for disaster. I don't see how it's possible to fix the monster they created even by banning them. Cause everyday there is a new person to take their place. -
Mafia and Sleeping Dogs I'm hooked on GTA style driving games for 2022. I want them all. I got the juice

@StaceyPowers and @Shagger I think addiction vs compulsion is a good topic

Thoughts on these games - THIS IS NOT A BRAG
Reality vs Adventure replied to The Blackangel's topic in Video Games
I've barely heard any of those games. Outlast is good and of course Layers of Fear. If you are having Caribbean dreams, then AC Black Flag is enjoyable. I also have Rogue, but haven't played it yet. I think it's a sequel to Black Flag. -
Are there any game companies you actively boycott?
Reality vs Adventure replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
I think the best reason to boycott is when they are donating their money or supporting in some way something that is against your morality. I haven't heard that much of the gaming world supporting things I'm against except for Scott Cawthon who is the creator of Five Nights at Freddy's. But he retired after getting backlash for supporting traitor trump. A lot of developers are on thin ice though the way they treat their employees. I don't think that would be a means to boycott unless their games are greatly offending a specific population. They do need intervention though and lots of media attention to pressure them. But it may come to a point where hitting their pockets may be the only way. If that's the case, what games would you buy? Because all the major developers have employee harassment issues. Many games have bug issues. The game world is embracing NFT. What will be left? -
It makes it more challenging and immersive that way. But, if I'm racing down the road being chased by cops and an old lady is walking across the street, I don't think I'm gonna swerve. But then again, that kind of moral consciousness will make it more interesting if I did swerve and dodge the old lady. Only to crash into a group of people. 🤷♂️

Biggest competitor to the GTA franchise
Reality vs Adventure replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I was looking up some old videos of Saints Row, and to me it looks very similar to GTA. I actually want to try the series starting with 3 remastered. Looks like it gets pretty wild. Watch Dogs Legion puts GTA 5 back on its heels. -
Both to me are excellent games and two of the best I've ever played. 2013 was when the last GTA was out, and now I actually think Watch Dogs Legion is what GTA 6 should look closely at to compete with. Because in my personal opinion, I think WDL may have GTA 5 beat. I'll try not to be biased because the WDL theme is something I take to heart. So WDL just strikes me to the core. That is also a tough comparison to the theme of GTA 5 which is extreme stereotypes that I really get a kick out of and makes me laugh while gaming. But I do have to say the theme and scenery captivates me more in WDL. As far as gameplay, both are incredible. The driving mechanics in GTA 5 surpasses WDL. It seems more real like and there is more damage to vehicles you can see, and hitting humans with the vehicle looks better. The camera driving features in WDL are better because there is an automatic drive feature that takes you to a destination and you can kick back and watch the scenery. It reminds me of Assassin's Creed games where you can set a point and it auto takes you there while you enjoy scenery. Moving the camera around in WDL is better because when you look out to the side of the car, the camera will hold there for a bit. That is something I hate about GTA 5 where it will never let you focus out to the side of the vehicle while driving. The camera makes you look straight ahead all the time. GTA 5 definitely has the more beautiful vehicles and you can actually save them in a garage where in WDL only a few characters have their own vehicle they can always use. Both games you can steal whatever whenever. GTA 5 has a pretty good story and you can switch between 3 protagonists. I'm still early on playing WDL to know the extent of the story, but so far it's good. WDL has the permadeath mode you can choose to have on or off and you can pretty much recruit anyone and play them. That's pretty brilliant. And it really increases immersion knowing you better protect them or lose them forever. I think that WDL has GTA 5 beat when it comes to features. WDL has a spider bot you can control to infiltrate areas, flying drones you can hack and fly over the city. It's just amazing. And there are drones you can actually stand on. There are other gadgets I haven't come across yet. But to be able to utilize those tools at any given time is awesome. GTA 5 you can fly a plane which is fun, and go boat riding, but you have to always drive to point A to point B to get there. Graphics are top notch for both. Music and radio is great for both. There is more of a selection in GTA 5 though, and in that game you can also watch tv. WDL actually has some good fighting mechanics and GTA 5 has the better shooting mechanics. I love the director's cut feature in GTA 5 where you can free roam and do what you want w/o consequences. And the final thing I'll say is that GTA 5 sorely lacks a photo mode and WDL has an amazing one. So what are all your thoughts between these two legendary games?
-
I actually think that I was more desensitized to violence before gaming. Because I used to kill everybody and never leave a soul alive. Now, I'm choosy who to kill and would rather do stealth if I can to steal something or kill my contract instead of everyone. I think it's also part of immersion for me to act as if they are real people. Why would I go in and murder everyone for no reason? If I see they have civilian captives or signs of torture of civilians, I'll kill em all.

Seriously, when I was done with it, it was just a flat piece of plastic. I don't even know where the beans went!!!

Dying light 2's story said to be 500 hours long
Reality vs Adventure replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming News
I wonder how many gigabytes it's going to consume. I've been exited about this game and it seems to be a full plate for the fans. The game is oriented by how you play; you can make a morally good faction or go the other way and build a rogue faction. With all the game hours, I imagine it's split between the two choices. So 250 hours for each choice maybe. Or, hate to say it, but could be the wave of the future for gaming. Give us a ton of hours to complete in order to reach 500-600 hours of play to unlock NFT. But this game is on my list. Hmmm, I'm worried about bug issues with so many hours. So will I buy right awayt? Nope. -
I'm a bit confused about your stance on progressives and your definition of woke and progressivism. Because I clearly remember you attacked progressives in games and I even posted a topic to debate it here: https://www.vgr.com/forum/topic/11744-what-exactly-do-progressives-believe/ I wouldn't have felt the need to post that topic if you didn't attack progressives here: https://www.vgr.com/forum/topic/11704-nearly-80-of-video-game-characters-are-male/page/2/#comment-81579 I think YOU are the one who is confused about woke and progressive

VR is beginning to show the big problems in that area with hate speech and virtual groping. And it's easy for players to single out others to try and recruit or harass as a racial predator. I don't know how they are supposed to monitor things like that. What words or acts should trigger a ban? I think that game rooms should have security personnel in there posing as a gamer.

You just opened a can of political bullshit. I can give you many examples where it was the far right extremists that has used the most violence against protestors and political dissenters. I'd like to debate you the acts of violence you claim woke has done and what the far right has done. If you don't want to debate that then this statement you posted should be disregarded and trashed as bullshit.
