  1. It's my next gaming purchase, for sure. Just waiting for payday. Can't wait!
  2. A good way freshen up a play through of Skyrim is to try and get the platinum trophy or 100% the achievements. It's a pretty arduous journey (I need to just complete some thieves guild quests and some daedric quests) but it's nice to have a "tangible" reward for your hard work. 🙂
  3. Dragon Age Origins is brilliant and it's my favourite in that series, honestly. Games with good relationship systems/character interaction, huh? Umm, I guess the Mass Effect series is an obvious answer (another Bioware game, obviously). I think Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human are great games that handle dialogue/character interaction well. Some of the game's branching paths are very impressive. TellTale games are effective at this, too. And finally, the Fallout series has relationship system/decent dialogue options. Hope that helps!
  4. Not played the Gamecube version but it looks super interesting. Will probably pick it up on Switch when it's rereleased to scratch my turn-based battle itch (though I still have a lot to do in Octopath Traveler's endgame).
  5. That was a really good read, Alyxx! Rise Of The Tomb Raider is definitely on my radar. Thanks for your review.
  6. Off the top of my head, CS:GO, League Of Legends and Dark Souls have pretty toxic communities, but honestly, if you look hard enough, you'll find trolls in all gaming communities. Empty vessels make the loudest noise, so I just try to ignore them tbh.
  7. Absolutely love both Hotline Miami albums (as well as the games, too!)
  8. So many awesome games on PS4. A few of my faves off the top of my head are probably: Bloodborne, Darkest Dungeon, Uncharted 4, Dark Souls 3, Detroit Become Human, God Of War, INSIDE, Lone Survivor, and Until Dawn. There's probably more that I can't think of right now, lol. Fair dos, such a great library.
  9. I adore my Vita but I 100% agree with Alyxx. The Vita is a great handheld that should've been supported more by Sony. Thankfully, indie devs and Japanese dev brought a ton of great small-scale experiences and big RPGs to the handheld and it works well as an indie/JRPG machine. It still holds a special place in my heart. Just wish those memory cards were a bit cheaper:/
  10. Even though I mostly play games on console, I'm a fan of playing games on the iPad, as well. I mostly play FTL: Faster Than Light, Monument Valley, Tiny Wings, Darkest Dungeon and Plants Vs Zombies. Are there any games I'm missing out on? What mobile games do y'all recommend?
  11. I've been pretty lucky as the only movies I've read the books for were Michael Crichton novels: Jurassic Park, Sphere and The Andromeda Strain. Jurassic Park obviously was an awesome movie and a great adaptation of the novel. Whereas Sphere and The Andromeda Strain were both great movies in their own way, but didn't quite match up to the books. Also, JRR Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit books have been adapted well to the silver screen. I've also read a few novelisations of movies, like Alien and Alien: Covenant. Both were awesome and very well written by Alan Dean Foster.
  12. I used to love Transport Tycoon when I was younger. Great little strategy/building sim. Also, though they don't have the 'tycoon' moniker, Theme Hospital and Theme Park are both arguably top-notch tycoon games. I think there's even a remake of Theme Hospital coming out soon.
  13. Like all COD games except possibly Ghosts, WW2 has really solid MP and the Zombies mode is cool, too. The MP maps are generally smaller and tighter, but the frenetic action that the series is known for is here in full force. WW2 is a good COD game and definitely worth a look if you're interested.
  14. My favourite games on Xbox 360 would probably have to be Deadly Premonition, Limbo, Alan Wake, COD: Black Ops and Skate. I feel like I'm forgetting something, though.
  15. That's crazy! Didn't realise that the PS4 doesn't play audio CDs. Had to test it to see for myself and lo and behold, you're all right. Bizarre.
  16. I usually prefer headphones tbh. Can more accurately hear where other players/adversaries are on the map. I've got a pair of Sony Gold 7.1 Wireless Headphones and they do the job nicely. But, yeah, I've also got a decent soundbar, too.
  17. I've owned a lot of PS hardware in my life. My first PS console was the PS2. Also owned a PSP, PS Vita, PS3 and a PS4. My fave PS console is the PS3, though I know that that's an unpopular answer. What's everyone's fave PS console?
  18. GameBoy. I freaking loved that thing! Most games on the GameBoy still hold up to this day!
  19. I absolutely *adored* the original Ni No Kuni. One of my fave JRPGs of all-time. How're you finding Ni No Kuni 2? I was a little put off by the real-time combat system, lack of Studio Ghibli's involvement and the seeming lack of cute monsters to catch. I wanna check it out at some point and I've seen it for around 25 quid. Would you recommend it?
  20. I've played the first couple of hours of Mass Effect Andromeda and I've enjoyed my time with it so far. Need to get back to it, but it just requires a lot of time to invest in it. Never got round to playing the first ME, though.
  21. Wow, I've heard that Japanese is supposed to be one of the trickiest languages to learn. Is that true? I would love to visit Japan one day. It's on my bucket list! Gosh, totally understand why you'd be put off skateboarding after an accident like that. Yeeesh, a broken arm is never fun 😞
  22. That's so cool! What language are you learning? I tend to skateboard in my free time for my exercise. Gaming and writing about games is definitely pretty exhausting.
  23. I think it's pretty normal to sometimes take a break from gaming. Time is a finite resource, I guess. I tend to read more books, watch more films/tv and go out skateboarding more when I'm in one of these moods -- I still play the odd game of COD or AvP, though. And I always come back to gaming in a hardcore way after a while and it weirdly makes me enjoy/love the gaming experience more.
  24. Personally, when I'm playing PC games I use a 37" 1080P TV.
  25. Always been super passionate about horror movies. My personal favourites are Alien, The Thing, Halloween, The Shining, IT, Insidious and Scream. What're your faves?
