Same as me, I started with handheld games long before I play with a console and controller and I was about 6 when I was gifted my first Gameboy.
If any of my kids loves gaming as much as I would get them a console or maybe a Nintendo switch for a start since the games on the platform are usually kids friendly and then we could move on to other platforms as they grow older.

I just found out now that clasher is also a term used for gamers who play clash of clans.
It's hilarious though but it still describes my love for ancient battles and whatever games involved the use of swords , arrows and other ancient weapons (a big fan of God of war).

Well, I feel this game has a lot of potentials though.
You mentioned that since resident evil was mentioned as it influence you don't have high hopes about the game, can you give a reason for the hesitation and why you think that has a hand in determining how good of a game  Alone in the dark would be to you?

I think FIFA isn't a game I particularly enjoy playing alone , with friends Makes it a lot more engaging.
All racer games can be enjoyed single or multiplayer modes alike imo unless someone thinks other wise.
Survival horror games, adventure games , first person shooter games can be enjoyed in single player mode. And besides I can't really play the last of us or dying light with people either.

I have a feeling that in some way, diabetes is really close to this one. Considering the games from the past, I think Kirby would have pretty serious diabetes by now.

I actually only Played the first release  of Alone in the dark and I didn't get to play other names off the series.
A remake gives room to explore other possibilities of the Game and I am seriously intrigued by what other features that could be put into this game.
Survival horror is my forte so I am definitely looking forward to this particular game.

Clasher got a reaction from Withywarlock in What film/TV actors do you imagine would do well with video game voice-over work?
I actually knew about his role in call of duty but I wasn't aware he was in red faction II maybe because I didn't play the game.
I felt he did pretty well for call of duty 1 and sounded just as he would for his movie roles you can compare this to his voice from the wrath of man and accident man (both movies he starred in).

The Elder Scrolls Online had shown why a good actor does not necessarily equate to a good voice actor. Direction and editing are important also.
It's really people with distinctive voices that I'd like to see. Bryan Cranston booms with his ordinary speaking voice and has a great gravelly voice. When he played the cancer-suffering Walter White, he was incredibly convincing with his coughing and spluttering, projecting the sounds he makes. He's really well suited for it.
Toby Longworth has done some video game work which I've not heard for myself (namely Penultimo of Tropico, and some voices in A Machine for Pigs), but he has a good range of accents as heard in his audiobooks. Having listened to Warhammer 40,000's Gaunt's Ghosts novels, I love the voices he has for each of the troopers. He'd do well in the upcoming Darktide game, or really just about any Warhammer game.
Speaking of audiobooks, any of the classic Doctors who are still alive and are capable of voice work from Doctor Who. Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy were great on screen and fully committed to their characters in the audio adventures. Maggie Stables who played Evelyn Smythe, and Sophie Aldred who played Ace, would be great additions to video game casting too.
Finally Charles Dance. I could listen to him narrate paint drying.

That's true , which ever way they choose to do it atleast it shouldn't be too distracting or  placed haphazardly.

Zuma is a tile matching puzzle video game where you play as a frog shooting coloured and patterned ball out of its mouth to match with other ball with same patterns and colours, you plays as fast as possible so the balls doesn't outrun and pass through the gates of the temple.
I enjoyed this game on PC and it was also available on mobile phone, Mac OS , PS2, PS 3 and Xbox console developed by pop cap games.
This game was  really popular since it's release in 2003 and even won game of the year award in 2004.
I haven't heard much about this game in a while so I am curious to know if there is anyone here who still plays it.

They would never leave COD behind. Even though this last release was kinda a bomb, there is still a huge fan base. What needs to happen is for a break from the yearly release. I think 2 years is a good way to go.
What I think would be cool though, is if they remastered some of the classic games, not the modern ones, but more ones from back when the series started. Like the first and second games, along with a few others.

Clasher got a reaction from Gonassis in How do you feel about paying full price for new versions of games you already bought?
I think games right now is usually priced between $30 to $70 only a few goes below or above this price mark.
I don't mind paying full price for remakes of video games if I am really interested in it though.

    Lol
Ads could be annoying Especially when you are deeply engrossed in watching a content and then it suddenly comes up.
I can't actually say it's a good thing for Netflix to bring on their screen play but if that's a more viable solution for them they could try it out.

Clasher reacted to Yaramaki in Is there any such thing as "overhyped" or "overrated" video games?
Seems like i never replied to this thread but overhyped and overrated i'd call both terms equally bad for a videogame or for any product for the matter. From personal experience those terms are usually associated and used by people who have no clue what they are talking about, you know those idiots who can't form an oppinion by themselves and take every word somebody else tell them for granted. Offcourse it's way easier to jump on the bandwagon and slam a product that is selling well and becomes populair instead of trying it out for themselves and see what it is like and maybe get an oppinion of there own.
Don't know where the above came from but it irritates the hell out of me, when i see somebody slamming on a game or a franchise they have barely or even never played because somebody else told them it was shit.

Now this is something to look out for.
I hope it's not just a copy of RE2 with a new title, atleast some new features to spice it up would be great.
I would check out for more information about this game.

Exactly. It benefits both newcomers AND veterans rather than just gatekeeping the game from the newcomers and cutting down its consumer base. The only benefit of a lack of difficulties is so people who beat the game can wank themselves off over it.

Adding difficultly options wouldn't be a bad idea so that for beginners they could get to adapt to the game more slowly as opposed to starting at a already difficult level, you could go from beginner and as you advance you go higher in level.

One thing with online is that, it saves time and energy. Their is nothing more pleasing to me than sitting at home and making downloads and getting it straightway into my game log, and not moving an inch trying to buy one from offline stores. Infact I don't like much of an ordering this days, i just love to download direct from the game store..

I created this thread because another thread here was turning out into a glorified  chit chat thread. Still the conversation deserves a change to keep going but not there as it's going way off topic and that thread has run it's course.
So i'll be moving said conversation here for it to continue as it's an interesting topic i'd like to participate in aswell, always nice to remanence about the good old days.
So @Kane99, @Heatman @Clasher and @Justin11 feel free to continue said conversation here
and for anybody else feel free to chimp in with your favourite gaming memories when you were younger.

I think that's a misconception on the part of Justin, though I haven't used the VR headset I know for a certain that you aren't confined to a space because how on Earth are you going to be able control the characters that way.

Ride 4 is one of those such racer games where the trailer is very intriguing though the game is good but the trailer would get you so frenzied into wanting to purchase the game.

Clasher reacted to Withywarlock in What game do you struggle with that everyone claims is easy?
This sums up the Soulslike experience: it's one of the most obvious examples of pattern recognition in today's games. That doesn't make it easy per se, but if you pay attention to the boss abilities and remember them you can breeze through them. I don't because I'm too impatient! 😅
YouTuber Lorerunner once said it best: Dark Souls is not hard. Dark Souls is punishing. It punishes players who don't react appropriately to an enemy's telegraphing of abilities by dealing a lot of damage and potentially sending you back to a point where you need to consume some resources for you can face off with the boss. Making mistakes is expected, and nobody can claim the game is easy without having made those mistakes plenty of times before, but the negative impact making said mistakes is far greater and ultimately what makes Soulslike gameplay what it is.
Unfortunately some games don't do that, and just claim a high difficulty, distant checkpoints and sluggish combat a Soulslike make. If you want a lesson in how to ignore the fundamentals of Dark Souls' design philosophy look no further than Lords of the Fallen: a decent enough game if you know how to cheese it, but otherwise fails at being as satisfying as a Soulslike.
