I can't remember exactly what their explanation is, but apparently the moon and stars aren't real either. They're holograms or something. They also say that for the sake of argument, Earth is the only flat planet in the universe while all the others are globular. NASA doesn't exist, any and all pictures from space are faked simply to discredit them (especially since going to space is impossible because it doesn't exist either) and that the whole globular Earth is a conspiracy against them. Unfortunately, there seems to be a shortage of rubber rooms and straight jackets.

Which version of Punch Out on NES do you have?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Video Games
I have both. The final boxer “Mr Dream” is identical to Tyson’s character in every way aside from digital image. That’s the only difference between the two games. From what I’ve read, Tyson wasn’t happy with Nintendo rereleasing Punch Out after his contract expired. -
I’ve talked about this game at length many times. I have to give my vote to RDR2. Everything in it is as close to reality as can be done. Even Ubisoft has called it just about the pinnacle of gaming achievement. Rockstar completely knocked it out of the park on this one. And that’s coming from someone who has never been a fan of Western style games.

RDR2 pretty much throws you in the water without a life jacket. The game starts and for the most part, you’re left to figure out how shit works on your own. The controls are a bitch to learn, and if you don’t have some form of help, it’s gonna take a long time to get it all down.

Games that were worth it but not at full price?
The Blackangel replied to StaceyPowers's topic in Gaming Forum
This one is going to get a lot of hate, but I have to say Majoras Mask. It was ok if you wanted to play the franchise, but were bored with saving Zelda from Ganon. Other than that, it’s not something I would pay a high price for. If I was in the market for a new copy, I wouldn’t pay more than $25 and that’s for the gold hologram edition. -
Games are getting more and more technical in terms of gameplay every day. You sure as hell aren't going to find anything like Elder Scrolls on Atari or NES. But of the ones you have played, what game requires the most responsibility from you? By that I mean things you have to do, or risk losing some of your achievements? For example, take RDR2. To start off with, you have to take a lot of care with your horse. You have to remember to feed it so that it stays at a healthy weight. If you don't it will starve to death. You have to keep it clean. You have to let it rest. You have to make sure you are bonding with it. If you go to all the trouble to catch, break, and tame one of the Arabians, especially the white one, and then let that horse die because you didn't take care of it, you're going to be pissed. You also have to take proper care of Arthur. He has to eat to stay at a healthy weight, which is easier said than done, believe me. A lot of the morale in the camp is on his shoulders. He is also the unofficial hunter for the gang, so keeping the camp fed is your responsibility, because apparently no one else in camp knows how to pull a fucking trigger. If Arthur gets into too much trouble, he can easily lead the law to camp. When you're running from the law, you run until they aren't looking for you anymore, ride around for a minute or two, THEN it's safe to head to camp. It's on you to make sure the camp is well stocked, because while other members of the gang donate occasionally, they don't stock shit. You have to stock the medicine wagon, ammo wagon, and food wagon. Your honor level also affects things. One thing it affects is prices. When you go to a general store, stable, or gun shop for example, if you have a high honor you can get discounted prices. Low honor doesn't mean you will pay a higher than normal price. There are also other things that a high honor rating affects. The discount is just my personal favorite. The level of responsibilities that you take on, just to play this game, are insane. And if you're wanting to upgrade things such as your satchel, you better be ready for a long drawn out hunting spree to get the Legend Of The East satchel. It takes a total of 22 perfect hides from 14 different animals. Many of which will eat you and their only thought is to wonder if dessert is a rabbit or a squirrel. Some of which you will never find, because you simply don't know where to look in this world and many of which are not where you would expect them to be. For things like this a walkthrough or players guide is almost required. It's a bitch, but it's a blast.

Nothing can ever replace a loved one. We know that. But we have also heard many times that when you lose a pet, getting another one can help you through. My girl wanted me to ask what everyone here thinks. Should we get another puppy? She's worried about the other dogs not liking the pup. She doesn't want to stress them out. But we know that adding another member to the family can be healthy.

They originally had the idea to do every core character in the MK series with their own mythologies game. But this one bombed so bad that they scrapped the idea. I have it, and have tried playing it, but I have to agree whole heartedly with AVGN. It's a shit stain on gaming history.

What is the hardest video game you've played?
The Blackangel replied to Alexander.'s topic in Gaming Forum
Do ROM-Hacks count? If so then the hardest game I have ever played is Zelda: Goddess Of Wisdom. I 100% believe that it was designed to NOT be beaten. Hitting enemies often requires specific attack moves. For example there is a boss that can only be hurt by a spin attack. Nothing else harms it. But you take 3 hits from it, and it's game over. If ROM-Hacks don't count, then I would have to give my vote to Legacy Of The Wizard on NES. I've been playing it for over 30 years, and have only been able to find 1 out of 4 fucking crowns. I think that one qualifies as slightly diffi-fucking-cult. 😡 -
Ultimecia. The build up through the game, the way they talk about her, the bosses throughout, and then that's the final boss of the game? Are you fucking kidding me? I could beat that bitch with my eyes closed. It was such a let down. She does almost nothing but stand there and let me attack her. Thanks a lot SquareEnix for the epic fail of a final boss.

Have you ever had to purchase a game multiple times?
The Blackangel replied to Kane99's topic in Gaming Forum
I've had over a dozen copies of FF8. Mainly because a disc would get scratched up and become unplayable, or I would lose a disc. With a game that takes 4 discs, it's not hard to do. One set wasn't my fault. Disc 4 didn't work. The systems didn't even recognize that they had a disc in them. I tried it on multiple systems, PS1-PS3 and got the same issue. I took it back, 3 times and had the same result. So that press of the game was completely fucked up. I ended up getting an original first edition of the game to play it. But when I got it on Switch, I haven't played it on PS since. -
I have 3 PSP's around here somewhere. I even have the white Assassin's Creed limited edition PSP. The game is long gone, and I'm honestly not sure where the console itself is at the moment. The only reason I ever wanted them was to watch movies on them. But it was PSP that made me a fan of God Of War. The best one in the entire franchise is Chains Of Olympus.

There are a hell of a lot of knockoff consoles that are made to play cartridge games. They work for a few weeks, then quit. I recommend against getting them, especially the ones that play carts from multiple systems. I bought a Retron once, and it only lasted about a month. When I talked to a few people at different gaming shops they all said the same thing I'm saying here. They're a waste of money. If you want something reliable get the actual system. Nintendo released a few variants of the NES, and from what I gather, the top loader is the best one. I still use the original model though.

The trailer looks awesome. It's definitely going to be well worth seeing. I agree that the first one was good, for the times. I saw it in the theatre, and was mad at how it ended. The second, was flawed in more ways than I have time to list. This one is a major improvement. But I just hope they don't try this with Street Fighter. That was a horrible abomination. I would like to see a live action Soul Calibur though. Maybe a live action Killer Instinct, too?

Stuart Little and Shrek weren't Disney films. Shrek was a Dreamworks movie, and Stuart Little was made by Columbia Pictures.

I see this mostly in adult themed cartoons. Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, The Simpsons, etc. They depict the father as a bumbling idiot, and often a drunk, and the wife is the hottest woman in town. I have wondered about this for decades, and can't find a satisfactory answer. With it portraying women as sex bombs, I personally find it a bit misogynistic. We're not all wanted by all men. And even if we were, there's a lot of us who have no interest in sex at all. It's a bullshit scenario.

The definition of "genius" is a person with superior intelligence or ability. An IQ score of 140 or higher is defined as genius. Very few people will score that as the normal range of human intelligence is 90-109. A person can be absolutely stupid in almost every area of life, but a genius in one. For example, my sperm donor was an idiot and a fall down drunk. But if you were to give him some tools and wood, he was a genius. He could do things that most could only dream about. And he loved doing it. If he had chosen that as a career, I would have grown up privileged. There would have been a waiting list for his work. He was that much a genius with wood. Then you also have to consider autistic people. They are not stupid, but sensitive to things. Many can do and remember things that simply amaze people who are not autistic. They are often genius, even though they may not have that 140 IQ score. The autistic range is far and wide. But it in no way means stupid. As for me, I'm schizophrenic, bi-polar, BPD, and diagnosed as a sociopath. I'm semi-intelligent in some areas, yet ignorant in most. The muscular dystrophy has severely affected my cognitive faculties. I'm much less articulate than I used to be. I'm also much less intelligent than I used to be. When I was in 5th grade my IQ was 130. I took an IQ test a couple years ago and it was 108. I'm sure it's somewhere in the 90's at best now. Genius to some. Idiot to others.

All The Light Has Gone From The World
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in General Chat
I know I said I didn't know when to expect me, but I decided that I need a distraction this morning. So I'm going to start posting again. Slowly but surely I'll be getting back to my usual activity. Just don't expect too much. -
All The Light Has Gone From The World
The Blackangel replied to The Blackangel's topic in General Chat
This is just a quick note to let everyone who even gives a shit know that my absence will be longer than expected. I found one of my rats and one of my dragons dead today. So I honestly don’t know when to reasonably expect me back. -
I will be absent from the forum for an extended period. My baby Gypsy died tonight. My mind has mostly shut off and I can barely think. I can barely even breathe. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I will eventually return at some point.

It becomes a pain in the ass, not to mention expensive, to constantly have to pay off your bounties. Even a $5 bounty will get them up your ass like a tapeworm. Dead or alive bounties present the real problem, however. Typically you can’t pay them off, like in Blackwater. Granted, with a relatively low bounty you have the option of turning yourself in and serving a short time in jail. I’ve never gone that route, but I may the next time I get a bounty.
