  1. I don't know if DOSbox is the best option. I tried it, and it never worked.
  2. There was an article with the pic that explained it, but I can't for the life of me remember what it said.
  3. The cloud formation in the pic is the thing that captured me and made me save the image.
  4. £500 = $630.30 £350 = $441.21 So I was most likely right on the prices. $600+ for the system. At least at launch. The British pound is worth more than the American dollar. £1 = $1.26 But then, the American dollar is getting close to the worthless point these days anyway. A lot of countries that we used to trade with (pre trump) started to refuse to take it. Simply because it doesn't maintain it's value. It has slightly more value in conversion to the Euro. €1 = $1.13 So at least that's progress I guess. But then I don't know where all the Euro is accepted, and with Brexit, I don't know if the UK is still accepting it or not. Assuming they did to begin with anyway. I'm almost 100% completely ignorant of foreign politics, but then most Americans are. An interesting thing is, that you guys pay more attention to our politics than we typically do. But I think you do it just for the laughs.
  5. OMG I hate that! I don't remember what game it was, but I played a game one time for about 3+ hours, and made more progress than I ever had before. I stopped for a second to take a break, and for one reason or another, pressing the pause button caused the entire thing to crash. I hadn't thought to save during that time, because I was on a roll and riding that high. When it crashed I went berserk and ended up having to buy a new console.
  6. The only way to know if a game is worth it is to play it. The world may hate it, but that should have no affect on whether you give it a shot or not. Like I said, I have (and love) several LJN games.
  7. From what I have read and seen, geologists are saying that were several thousand years past due for an eruption from Yellowstone. So that bothers me a bit. As for climbing St Helens, like I said I don't know jack about it. A quick google search said you can, but didn't mention permits. But for all I know, that was outdated information, and somewhere in the last 40 years they changed it to only allow scientists and geologists near the crater. I do know that if you have the money you can take a helicopter ride to the crater and fly over. Or you could in the past since the volcano was dormant at the time. They may have stopped that as well and only allow people on designated hiking trails. I used to love hiking when I was able. I would disappear into the woods for days at a time. I'd catch my own food, purify my own water, build temporary shelter, and live rough. Now I can't do any of that. I don't remember the actual name, but have you thought about Pele's volcano in Hawaii? That one always interested me. Also here's an unaltered, very real pic of Mt Fuji you might find interesting.
  8. I have never once in my life seen a single moment of Power Rangers. My time was before their time. I'm old. Too damn old.
  9. Some people think that $500 shoes are better than $10 shoes, simply because they're more expensive, and that's simply not the case. I get my shoes at Walmart for the most part, and they last forever. I'm a fan of sneakers more than anything, so why would I go somewhere and spend hundreds when I could spend a fraction of that and get something better? Granted I have a few pairs of really cute boots, and I wear them often too. But they didn't exactly drain the bank. Wish is your friend people.
  10. I just don't give a shit what someone's preference is, for the most part. Sometimes I actually like it when preferences are completely different. Differing opinions and preferences make for more entertaining chat. But you get what you give. If you try to tell me I'm wrong because I do/do not like >insert game title/platform< then we have a problem on our hands.
  11. I have a cubby on my desk that I keep a small TV and my PS3 & Xbox One in. But I'm typically on my SNES and N64, and there's no actual way to choose with them, so I guess it doesn't matter there.
  12. Vesuvius, Fuji, and St. Helens all allow climbing pretty much year round. The biggest risk is altitude sickness, but the only of those 3 that I saw a mention of it was on Mt. Fuji. You could also travel to Yellowstone National Park. It's laying directly on top of a super-volcano. It's the only super-volcano I can think of at the moment, and if I remember correctly, it's also the largest. One eruption from it, and we're extinct, type volcano. I don't know much about volcanology. My interest is astronomy. I'm absolutely fascinated by the universe. Planets, exoplanets, black holes, nebulae, super novae, neutron stars, galaxies, all of it.
  13. Don't ask me. I don't have a damn clue.
  14. I have a ton of DDL games on my Switch, and almost all of them are indie games. Actually I only have a couple games for it that aren't indie games. Switch has broadened my horizons exponentially.
  15. Same here. I played with legos all the time as a kid. But have felt no allure whatsoever to Minecraft.
  16. There is one that I talk about a lot on here. Legacy Of The Wizard. Most people, including classic gamers, don't even know it exists. It's one of the greatest games I've ever played, and extremely challenging. But that was one of the best thing about NES games. They were often beyond challenging. The one that comes to mind for most people on that is Battletoads. A good SNES game would be Illusion Of Gaia. Beautiful SNES graphics, and awesome story line. N64 has so many. Most people were getting more interested in PlayStation in that era. But for those of us that stuck with Nintendo the rewards were great. At least to us. One that I don't think a lot of people know is Hexen. I never hear anyone talk about it, and it's an absolutely awesome game. A PS3 game that I don't see a lot of discussion about is Dantes Inferno. It's amazing. I haven't beaten it yet, but that doesn't matter to me. it's an awesome game, and it seems that no one knows about it.
  17. I got Castle Wreck a few days ago. In a nutshell, you use a mortar cannon to fire at a castle to try to take it down. You're supposed to strategically fire at what would be the weak points and raze it to the ground. If you have any destructive tendencies, it's a pretty good game.
  18. The shows I like aren't on any of the other streaming services that I've tried. So I'm good to go with just Hulu being on Switch.
  19. I would go with physical. Maybe it's due to being a classic gamer, but I prefer to have a game that I can hold in my hand.
  20. More spam. Please delete this post.
  21. The topic was already posted HERE. But to answer it again, I stand. Less space taken up, and it gives them more surface space to dispel heat which lessens the chance of overheating.
